I looked around to see if there was any information about Jasmine Tea, but found very little.
My question is whether Jasmine Tea is a beneficial / neutral / avoid ...for Type O?
I have been a huge coffee drinker with little problem, however since finding the BTD my daily intake of coffee is now 2 cups compared to 4-6 cups with espresso shots. I now drink hot / iced jasmine tea that I brew, and seltzer (or club soda) most of the day.

"Jasmine tea" only means there are jasmine flowers in whatever tea is used for a base.... mostly black tea is used......check labels
here s a search, read through the older threads and build your own opinion.... http://www.google.com/custom?h.....amp;start=0&sa=N think ERFYT has a herb list for each type.....might want to check the values....but in general, consider unlisted items, neutrals

Green tea is benefical for Os, while black tea is an avoid. However, black tea is OK for O Gatherers (some individuals who are type O can tolerate black tea just fine, and you might be one of them.) It's also been the general consensus on the boards that black tea is "less bad" for Os than coffee is. Even if you're not one of those individual Os who do fine on black tea, it's still a better choice than coffee, and a good "stepping stone" if it's too much for you to jump straight from coffee to green tea.
Yerba mate is another good tea choice for Os. I add blackstrap molasses and rice milk to mine, and I think it tastes similar to coffee.
If the jasmine tea you've been drinking is jasmine green tea, then go on drinking it!

Where I live, the Jasmine tea is all made from green, which would be rated the same as green tea on your food list. Good for you for cutting down on that coffee! A good direction to go in!

Find a local Asian store where things are cheap there. You will find a huge box with Jasmine Green Tea emblazoned on the front with 100 teabags in it. It will cost you maybe 8 bucks at most. And welcome to the forum!

Hi, John, and welcome!
As a fellow Type O, I can tell you that I LIVE on jasmine green tea, mixed with peppermint tea (one bag of each in a mug, steeped together) at work all day. I have a 28-ounce mug and drink two mugs-worth daily of this divine manna. It is the only thing that keeps me sane and functioning at my job. So, we are talking 56 ounces per day hasn't killed me yet!
Jasmine is not a rated item yet in the Typebase, so like all "unknowns", it can be considered neutral. Green tea is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better for you than coffee (are you drinking jasmine green or jasmine black? Either way, SO much better for you than coffee, but the green would be the best choice), you have done yourself a huge favor transitioning to it. Tea contains theanine, a relaxing ingredient which works in a beneficial, symbiotic relationship with caffeine to moderate its negative effects, while still allowing you the nice, mild/gentle (compared to coffee, which contains much more caffeine and no moderating theanine) and positive energy-boosting effects from the caffeine in tea.
Again, welcome!
P.S. That was a good question! You will get far in this diet/lifestyle by thinking critically like that and asking questions about individual ingredients.

there are many grades of jasmine pearls. ..If you want to learn more and get feedback from people, go to amazon, type in jasmine pearls, loose tea, and read reviews.....I try to find organic jasmine pearls....They're tea leaves that are wrapped individually and made into balls by hand....and the quality and size of the little pearls varies. Imperial jasmine pearls would be a super high grade. I think most jasmine pearls come from tea produced in China....and Chinese foods in the USA aren't always tested, inspected or consistent..which is why I generally like to purchase from larger companies. Adagio is one...Tealuxe, or Teavana (I think this is a USA company only) and Teavana has stores as well as online ordering.... Riishi is another brand of jasmine pearls I've tried. I can't say I can actually taste the difference between all of these, because it's not like I have all the teas in front of me at the same time. But I've never really had bad jasmine pearl tea....They're steeped for about 3-4 minutes and can be re-used at least 3 times so although it's expensive initially, if you drink many cups of tea every day, you can at least re-use these little pearls. And the aroma of jasmine is so calming
