My gut is still upset and it seems to stay that way... Can green tea or dark chocolate upset my stomach? Also, as an A I can have white wine. If I overindulge will it also give me an upset stomach? Trying to figure out if it is the diet or just me with the problem with my stomach. I have been gradually adjusting to this diet for 3 months now. I now seem to burp and breakwind more often then when I used to eat my regular meals. Is this good? |

I'd say find a good probiotic. It'll help you digest your food better.
And yes green tea or chocolate could upset your stomach. If it's not a good quality tea you could be having mold issues because of bad production of the products. Plus your body could be reacting to the chemicals the plant was sprayed with also. Us A's are sensitive! lol If you are eating chocolate that has a high milk, sugar, and wax content than that too could be the problem. Sometimes just having emotions that we aren't dealing with can give us stomach problems. If I get really stressed out and nervous no matter how compliant I am with my diet I can still end up with stomach/bowel cramping and diarrhea. lol Not fun at all! |

Try keeping a food diary and see if you can pinpoint what foods you eat before your stomach gets upset. It might be a detox/adjustment issue (meaning, keep on eating the beneficial foods and your GI system will sort itself out in time) or you may be ingesting foods that don't quite agree with you.
Most people get stomach pain, bloating, nausea, and/or gas from overindulging even healthy foods, and most people have specific foods or types of foods that are worse; some get upset stomachs from too much fat, others from too many carbs, others from certain combinations, etc.
Green tea is definitely hard to digest on an empty stomach. I used to always start my day with a cup of coffee, and replacing that with green tea didnt' help because I couldn't drink that until I had some food. So now I start my day with yerba mate, then have green tea with and after breakfast instead. And chocolate is something I only eat in tiny amounts, usually for dessert. I have some unsweetened baking chocolate, or I make hot cocoa from cocoa powder and stevia. I don't use the sugar-sweetened chocolate at all (ok, I'll occasionally eat a semi-sweet chocolate chip or 5, but not a whole portion of them.) |

I have also had an upset stomach for the last few days. I am following the BTD and was wondering if this was a symptom of detox. I am sleeping much better this week than I have in previous weeks and my skin looks and feels better than it has done for weeks. I had a good weight loss last week, but haven't lost anything this week even though I haven't strayed from the diet. The good thing is though I am enjoying what I eat and don't feel hungry in between meals. |

check all the digestive aids there are up at the DPN store, and also the online protocols to choose one right for you at this time
while healing your gut, deflect and polyflora are basic, to replenish and repair your gut ecosystem |

By the way, should Polyflora be stored in a fridge after opening? |

Thank you, I have done it. I just don't remember if it is mentioned on the package. |

regarding your tummy upset - keep an eye on your fruit levels, if they are not big then make a list of all the fruit and veg you eat over a week and list them here. perhaps we may point you to alternatives.
do you eat a lot of onion, garlic? |
