I had not thought I was sensitive to gluten but now I wonder. I was eating 1 to 2 pieces of the new formulation of Ezekial 4:9 bread and I had some sores that were not healing well at all. I stopped the bread a couple of days ago and made no other changes. Now the sores are healing well. Is it possible for gluten sensitivity to show up in the skin like that? I thought it was only an intestinal problem.

It's possible the gluten interfered with the healing process in some way, though I'm not sure exactly how.

The reformulation for Ezekiel bread is disappointing, but it did push me to start making my own bread, something I haven't done in quite a while (the flax foccaccia recipe many people here also use), so it's all good.

How the body handles any specific toxin can be totally individual and varied depending on what systems have extra capacity at the time.

Yes, it's very possible there is a connection. The first thing I notice, besides fatigue, after I eat anything glutenous is skin eruptions. I get acne flare-ups and sometimes red bumps on my chest. For those of us who can't digest gluten properly, it wreaks havoc in the intestines but also causes an inflammatory response in the rest of the body (leaky gut) causing a variety of other symptoms.

when I am non compliant my skin breaks out and doesn't want to heal very quickly. The jaw bone area of the face corresponds to the health of the intestines.

is there a map of the face that tells you what different areas indicate the workings of the insides?

eg jaw= intestines

chin = liver? don't know if this is right

There is a reaction to gluten known as:

Dermatitis herpetiformis; which is a chronic disease of the skin marked by groups of watery, itch blisters. The ingestion of gluten triggers an immune system response that deposits a substance, IgA (immonuglobin A), under the top layer of skin. IgA is present in affected as well as unaffected skin. dermatitis herpetiformis is a hereditary autoimmune disease linked with celiac disease. If you have dermatitis herpetiformis, you always have celiac disease. With dermatitis herpetiformis the primary lesion is on the skin rather than the small intestine. The degree of damage to the small intestine is often less severe or more patchy then those with only celiac disease. Both diseases are permanent and symptoms/ damage will occur after comsuming gluten.

This description comes from a resource guide of the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America

policychecker, there is a map somewhere of the face. I was told about the jawline by my old esthetician. This was before I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. It did not mean anything to me then. As I clean up my eating the breakouts lessen.
