Hi folks hope you can help! I'm also lactose and gluten intollerant! well if i eat it it messes with my downstairs department so I don't eat it! (same for the allium family!) I take a pre natal multi vitamin and a half dose of a calcium supplement. I am pretty compliant...maybe too stict! but am worried I'm not feeding my baby properly? i lost 3 1/2 stone after my daughter was born due to severe anxiety, PND and panic disorder so would like to keep calm and sane this time! The diet seems to have kept me off my meds while we were trying i'm having about 2 or three big panics a month and my ibs seems to be a little touchy of late but I'm putting it down to hormones? as with the chronic gas issue! I eat hardly any starch ie rice is this o.k? and i eat a lot of fish is this ok? also i have a fear of nausea not actually vomiting so some help with morning sickness would be great! many thnks xx me ! |

I need to be brief, but there is probably both a mental and physical component to the panic. Mentally, the simplist thing I can share is to change the imagery that is causing the panic. You have a child already? Picture yourself with the beautiful child inside you born into this world playing happily with a new sibling. Picture yourself in the picture mothering and nurturing. There is some information on the internet that essential Omegas are important in panic issues. I have experienced great results with some krill oil I get from Mercola.com. Omegas are good for developing babies too. Could be that the baby is using the majority of what you are taking in and maybe you need a little more. Of course, I am not a doctor. You would want to run anything by your doctor. Best to you. |

Panic is scarry.. remember it always goes away.. say that to your self over and over.. it will pass..I have no problems I am ok as I am.. this will pass.
then I would hope that you have the BTD Baby book and possibly the BTD Allergy book just for reading purposes.. and for every panic attack come here and share it .. time will make it easier..
Immagry is good if you can..
I am sending you on private message.. please look at it.. |

Hi bramble 19, nice to see you on here. I am not sure about the panic thing. that mau sort itself out while on the BTD, things like mood usually do get sorted.
the IBS i can certainly sort out completely together with the gas in about 3 days.
Onions are classic indicators that you may actually have a Sugar (keeping it simple for now) issue.
if you like list all the things you eat in an average week and I'll point out the ones that you should look at more closely and the ones to just avoid.
try using quinoa the odd time instead of rice.
list all the foods you eat and the quantities (just roughly for noe) and if your comfortable giving a bot More info like height and weight. that would be useful.
if you prefer PM me and I'll PM you back.

Magnesium deficiency is linked to both IBS and panic attacks.....
In Dr. Dean's book, she also states Drs. do not recommend magnesium only calcium & she thinks it is especially important for pregnant women. |

Congratulations on your pregnancy dear! Focus on positivity,it really helps the mind go there. When you look outside, see something nice, like the sun is shining today, the trees look so green, they received enough nourishment. Look over at your child, see that glint, be happy. Smile, think to yourself, or say outloud. Good Afternoon World, I'm happy to be here! I can breath in the fresh air! Thank You.
Wondering, if you are eating some of the red meats, this is really good for you being, an O. and remembers the veggies and fruits, the nuts and seeds, the beans and quinoa. we have so many wonderful choices.
I think I read that protein helps one get over nausea. Best to you, will be following your thread, take care! |

wow my first post! This is amazing most people i talk to about this think I'm completly insane! You guys are amazing!! have been on the diet for 5 months its slow progress, I have suffered with panic disorder on and off since around 13, I'm 5ft 8" and just over 9 stones in weight. sugar intolerance now that sounds very interesting and also a little worrying?
At the moment this is what I eat....I am very compliant! I want to feel better!
Breakfast manna bread with egg and kelp sprinkles + beneficial fruit rainbow trout with egg and kelp sprinkles + beneficial fruit steak, steamed brocolli and red pepper + beneficial fruit rice krispies with rice milk or soya (very occasionally)
snacks fruit, walnuts and rice cakes oh and the odd chunk of 70% cocoa chocolate I'm cutting down
lunch steak sweet potato and salad (beetroot, spinach, rocket, red pepper, tomato) trout, sweet potato and salad
dinner free range chicken stir fry sea bass with sweet potato ( mash, baked or roasted) broccoli and carrots generally beneficial meat with beneficial veg and a tahini dressing i make to make it taste less bland! I even have it on breakfast!
treats!! I bake vegetable cakes from "red velvet and chocolate heartache" by harry eastwood. no flour, well maybe a little rice flour! vegis and nuts honey instead of sugar.
chocolate BEETROOT! brownie made with walnuts! beneficials! They are amazing! made them last week with homegrown beetroot delisciosa.
I've only had IBS and intolerances since the birth of my daughter I think that and the anxiety burned the 3 1/2 stone away and the g.ps anti depressants gave me zero appetite so weight gain is not a problem! |

help!! MY HUBBY THINKS THIS IS BONKERS!
THROW the bum out.. YOU are carrying his child.. you are to be treated with utmost care, sympathy and gentleness.. He is to be supportive of every whim in food you are adhering to .. especially if you feel better doing it.. NO wonder you have anxiety.. GIVE IT TO HIM.. let him carry your child get bulky in middle of summer, let him get up all night to the bathroom.. wake him up every time you have to go.. OK-OK that was just a rant for him to read what might come down the wrath path if he does not change his toone.. after all there are MANY more of US here then there is if HIM.. on Armey of us telling you quite openly that this diet protocol is better then everything else we have experienced.. we suffered and we tested and we succeeded. OH yes it is hard to change ones way, and we understand fully those who can not join us here.. but we will be here to support you every day of your time waiting for the baby and after.. as for painc attacks,, ( see the typo) they are indeed on issue that needs to be addressed and while sometimes it takes time to figure out what causes your brain to get shock up, so be it .. IT's just a passing phase.. KNOW that it will always pass even if it takes days to do so.. but the more sure you make your self knowing that it is just a MISfire of a brain connection, then getting to understand where it comes from might be easier.. IT stems form a place that frightened you at on age when you could not deal with the info by putting it in a shoebox and file it away.. IT's just hanging on and you may suffer by just being afraid of the next moment when it MAY happen.. rather then when it DOES happen.. so for as often as you can just reassure your own mind that all of life is a passing phase and that YOU will be OK.. so hubby.. straighten out and fly right.. bring home flowers, bring home the steak, the turkey breast and the good spices.. hold hands with 'mom to be' more often, certainly always when you go for a walk.. sit next to your wife when out to dinner and walk on the outside on the sidewalk.. prop her feet up and cuddle much more often then before.. and did I say support MOM to be???? !!! indulge her every fantasy, and if she gets better come back and tell us here, but if she is not, then by all means tell us that tooooo.. we are here supporting the 4 of you.. best wishes.. AND?? does this diet work.. YOU CAN COUNT ON THAT for GENERATIONS TO COME!!! |

help!! MY HUBBY THINKS THIS IS BONKERS!
I love this... My best answer is that many of our spouses thought this diet was "bonkers", when they first saw it... Perfectly normal response for someone who hasn't read the book or had problems that the "normal" medical community hasn't been able to solve. As long as he doesn't fight you about it, keep doing your thing and maintain your positive attitude and let him watch the results. Keep doing and know that there are many of us "bonkers" here for support anytime. |

5ft 8" and just over 9 stones in weight. your hieght and weight seem okay. so don't worry about that especially while carring a child.sugar intolerance now that sounds very interesting and also a little worrying? it's no biggy once you inderstand it. (if it is the problem- it may be a small part of lots of litte issues - don't panic mr mannering! At the moment this is what I eat....I am very compliant! I want to feel better! Breakfast manna bread with egg and kelp sprinkles + beneficial fruit rainbow trout with egg and kelp sprinkles + beneficial fruit steak, steamed brocolli and red pepper + beneficial fruit rice krispies with rice milk or soya (very occasionally) snacks go to 85 % and slowly cut down. fruit, walnuts and rice cakes oh and the odd chunk of 70% cocoa chocolate I'm cutting down try pumkin seeds instead of nuts for a while. lunch steak sweet potato and salad ( beetroot, spinach, rocket, red pepper, tomato but not cherry) trout, sweet potato and salad dinner free range chicken stir fry (try poachinf the the chicken, and stop eating any onions for a week also no garlic. you can use garlic infused olive oil. sea bass with sweet potato ( mash, baked or roasted) broccoli and carrots generally beneficial meat with beneficial veg and a tahini dressing i make to make it taste less bland! I even have it on breakfast! treats!! I b ake vegetable cakes from "red velvet and chocolate heartache" by harry eastwood. no flour, well maybe a little rice flour! vegis and nuts honey instead of sugar. drop the honey and put back the sugar for a week.chocolate BEETROOT! brownie made with walnuts! beneficials! They are amazing! made them last week with homegrown beetroot delisciosa. I've only had IBS and intolerances since the birth of my daughter I think that and the anxiety burned the 3 1/2 stone away and the g.ps anti depressants gave me zero appetite so weight gain is not a problem![/quote] i know this is going to sound at odds with a lot of people but try a different fruit habit. eat smaller portions and leave 3 hours between different fruit. so choose from this list only and eat frist thing when you get up then continue as normal. and try to have before a meal by half an hour or so if you can but don't worry if you don't managae it every time. Banana (allowing once a week) Blueberry Carambola(Star Fruit) rarely Grapefruit every other day if that makes it easir in the morning. Grapes (small amounts) no more than 15 Lemon (small amounts) Lime small amounts Pineapple (small amaounts and limit) rice is fine - but watch out with ingredients of rice milk, for example dream has sunflower oil in it - not good. choose from the following veg only. for a week. Bamboo shoots Beans, green Bean sprouts not too much of this Bok choy broccoli red Peppers Carrot Celery Chives Ginger - small amounts Lettuce Parsnip Pumpkin Spinach (caution) Spring onion (Green bit) Squash (Butternut) Swede Sweet potato Turnip Tomato Cougette if this cures your problem and i fairly sure it will then let me know and i'll point you in the dierection of a specialist dietitian. to make sure baby is taken into account. for this reason try it very gradually by just changing the fruit you eat slowly and replacing veg the same way. try porige a and plain rice puffs (rude health) not kelloges for a breakfast in between the fruit and the protien. PM me if yo need any help kind regards PC |

Having only been on the diet for 5 months, I'm not surprised that you're "not fully healed of panic attacks" yet. Healing takes time, and pregnancy is a drain on the system, so even things that "seemed healed" just before pg can pop up again during or afterwards.
Since you have digestive issues, you might want to take a look at "food combining." That theory states that fruit should be eaten by itself, not mixed in the stomach with other foods. You might do better having a piece of fruit and then the rest of your breakfast half an hour later, or saving fruit for bedtime snack, or having fruit and nuts together for a snack between meals (and not mixing fruit with anything but nuts).
I'd also get rid of the manna bread. People who are gluten intolerant can sometimes handle gluten grains when sprouted, but not always. Rice cakes or cooked rice or quinoa might be better choices.
I personally find that I do best if I save my grains for later in the day- I eat them with dinner, or occasionally lunch, but never breakfast. Grains too early in the day leave me with cravings for more carbs, plus they make me sleepy. But I've also never done BTD while pregnant, and I do recall eating starchy foods while pg to releive nausea. If grains with breakfast is working for you, then keep on eating them. |

than you all for your kind replies x
Just a couple of questions why no farmed fish. not into trawled fish as its impact on diversity and also if I eat organic farmed fish does that make any difference?
oh and Wanuts and soya are bad for O's???
oh bought ghee today? do i keep it in the fridge?? and pumpkin seeds. I do eat alot of bananas one a day usually? I've always found them quite calming on my tummy?
the trouble is having such a restricted diet already I'm pretty sure if i am 100% compliant I may crack the ibs but the sugar chocolate and walnut thing maybe an extremly important point for me. xx
if this compliancy doesn't crack it I am definatly going to follow the above advice. thank you.....xxx
you live and learn ....I cheat I suffer....so why do I cheat???? having an appetite is such a novelty!
xx me xx |

Wanuts.?. I thought walnuts are ok for O's?? but I must say.. I like pumkinseeds much better .. and I eat only the samllest amount and I am satisfied..
carbs and starches as late in the day as is possible or I get starving..
Bananas if they work for you so be it but in the end sugar- even from fruit- will make the insides of your stomach as read as open flesh.. so follow prudence..
once I went on BTD my issues went away.. so compliancy is key.. make a shopping list, it saves money and helps to remember..
I learned recently that I can have Avocado for my feel good hormones seratonin levels.. nice as a fruit// |

Remember that the Typebase is most up-to-date BTD food ratings... Some people here are eating per a specific illness menu, GTD, or SWAMI - or some combination of one of these and some outside information... We all have to be vigilant about what information we use to choose our menu. |
