Would anyone know the eqivalent amounts of vegetable glycerine to agave?
I have been using 1/4 cup agave in my cookie recipes and would like to use vegetable glycerine instead of the agave. How much veg. glyc. would equal 1/4 cup agave?

By the way, the recipe calls for 1/2 cup honey but I substituted that for 1/4 cup agave.

Now I'm trying to swap the agave for veg. glyc.

Thanks!

I would use a tablespoon to replace 1/4 cup of either agave or honey.
and 2 tablespoons to replace 1/2 cup of either agave or honey.

I find it very sweet, but you already cut the sweetness of your recipe a little bit on your
honey to agave substitution.

According to this thread you should substitute 1/4 cup for a 1/4 cup.

I put a dab on my tongue and it kinda burns, like my tongue was numb on that tiny spot.
My local h.f. store had some fron the company 'now' so I got a tiny bottle to start with. I suspect the cookies will not be as good with the veg. glyc. as they are with the agave. But I'll try em anyway.

Now is the brand that I am able to get.   Same kinda taste I get.   Now you know why I wish it tasted like agave.

I wonder how a cookie would taste with this?
Will maybe bake some tomorrow morn and let you know. The nuts are so expensive I really don't want to waste it.

Thanks for the link. I baked a batch of cookies and the house got filled up with smoke! Apparently this v.g. bakes very differently than agave! My smoke detectors are still shrieking away and the house is smoke-filled.
And the taste of the cookies
Not sweet at all. It's more like an oil than a sweetener

I read on a thread somewhere that v. glyc. changes significantly when baked versus when mixed into liquids cold. Maybe it's only good for sweetening drinks or uncooked products?

I was going to start a thread asking people's experience, as I just bought a bottle. It does taste sweet to me. I put a half tablespoon into my tea.
