Hello

I take gelatin because I was told that it is good for the cartilages. I always purchased "neutral" gelatin no color, no flavor, the box said that the ingredient is only:

"Gelatin type A, 240° Bloom", but it do not say the source, I mean cow or pork.

In Dr. D'Adamo's Type Base it say " Much of the commercial gelatin today is a by-product of pig skin."

http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/depictor5.pl?51

In same link it said gelatin is Neutral for both secretor an non secretors 0's.

1.- It is really safe for 0's to eat gelatin, or will I have same problems with pork? (Flocculates serum or precipitates serum proteins. Contains component which can modify known disease susceptibility.)

2.- What other food alternatives I have, additionally to the Naturopatic Formulas, for recovery the cartilage.

There is a lot stuff to learn and be careful of.

Thanks a lot for your kind advice.
Best regards

I encourage you to try this. If you do a scholar search you will find plenty on this drynaria.

Are horsetail products safe for this? I also wondered if the actual consumption of cartilige might be a good source. Maybe not shark cartilige but gettin' down and gritty with the ends of chicken bones or even (gasp) ducks feet, an asian  delicacy.

joejac:  you can order a kosher version of gelatin that is made from beef.  I found some through amazon.com last year and I am sure that they still sell it.

just type in gelatin kosher in the search.  Read the descriptions there and it should confirm that, yes indeed, the gelatin is from a beef source.

nothing beats making your own bone broth!!!

my personal treat is gnawing on all bone cartilages once done!!

look no further for Drynaria Root 5:1 Extract:

This emerging Chinese herb has a wide range of benefits in traditional medicine. Dr. D’Adamo blends drynaria to his MultiMineral formula to support bone health.

Hello and thanks to all.

1.- Hi ieatmeatnlikeit, I guess Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) can not be bad for 0's because Dr.D'Adamo recommend it in his Health Protocol No. 28 SURGERY RECOVERY PROTOCOLS:
http://www.dadamo.com/protocols/28.html

1.1- In this article they said that: "Horsetail: An Herbal Remedy With Tradition for Healing Bones & Cartilage"
http://nutritionresearchcenter.....ing-bones-cartilage/

1.2- But be very careful because there are a risk of some toxic species as per wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equisetum

Quoted Text
"If eaten in large quantities, the foliage of some species is poisonous to grazing animals, including (somewhat ironically given its common name) horses[5]. On the other hand, the young fertile stems bearing strobili of some species are cooked and eaten by humans in Japan, although considerable preparation is required and care should be taken.[6]"

2.- Sparrow, Andrea and Lola, thanks for your knowledge contribution because I am learning and now I guess what to purchase.

Best regards
joejac
