Sorry about the caps, they were stuck, now they're not. If I go back and undo them, it will probably get stuck again.
So anyways. My brother and I both have to take digestive enzymes with our meals. They help, for sure. Digest Gold by Enzymedica is what I've been prescribed. We both have had big stomach problems. Some of you probably know that. He is an A and he gets really terrible heartburn. I just don't digest will without them.
Does anyone got any tips on correcting this? Is it just the process of getting your guts better? Or is there anything certain way to focus on that aspect. I realize that some fruits have these digestive enzymes in them, which I can tell when I eat them, things digest better. But I doubt eating them at every meal is a good idea, plus, they aren't typically as powerful as the supplement.
And please, if you tell me to just follow the diet, I do that. And it has helped. My stomach is better than what it was like 3 years ago. In fact, 3 years ago in October is when I started having all the problems. Praise God for helping me through. Anyways. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.
I notice that when I eat cultured vegetables before my meal, it helps my digestion. That's cheaper than the pill. But I wonder if there is a way to boost the stomach's production of these.
amylase, protease, lipase, lactase this ase that ase, chew my food up/ase. You know? FWIW, I've been chewing my food real well too, that seems to help.

Thank you Lola. I take everything on there currently. Except I'm not sure what phytocal is.
I guess maybe I just need some more patience.
It is getting better, and I hope I don't have to take this digest stuff forever. It's expensive.

One thing you can do in order to cut costs and see if you can transition down, is to switch to one of Enzymedica's other products called Digest. It has lower doses of the same enzymes, and costs a lot less. I still take one of those with each meal. It may just be aging in my case, but my stomach still hurts if I don't take it.

Interestingly enough, I just got an email from Donna Gates, some of you may know her. One of the fixes she says for this is liquid spirulina. Ever heard of that?

I don't think I want less right now though. I want the nutrients. But yeah, as it gets better, good idea!

ABNW, I can't recommend strongly enough the importance of food combining with your BTD/GTD foods. Especially when it comes to digestive enzymes and nutrient uptake. Taking digestive enzymes does help, but still does not compare to the effects of good food combining. I only take digestive enzymes when I am off the food combining wagon, but I'm a little leary of taking them regularly least my body becomes lazy at producing its own. The body only produces a limited amount of enzymes, which, I assume is more pronounced in an AB. Your diet most likely takes this into consideration already, but you can take it further to gain the highest efficiency possible from your digestive system. I don't have any digestive problems but I do notice a big difference in hunger depending on whether I'm on or off the food combining wagon. This says a lot to me, mainly that my body is using everything I give it. For someone with digestive problems, I imagine the noticeable effect would be much greater. I would also apply these rules to my genoharmic foods, if I were doing SWAMI, which I will be soon! Anyway, I would bet that a good month of this with your GTD foods would make a world of difference for you.
Well, I combine foods all the time, but what exactly are you talking about? I know that some foods go better with certain foods than others. But I don't have a list or whatever. I do have a list of genoharmonic foods. But I can tell you this, even when I eat salads, if I eat too much, it doesn't go down very easily without some help.
Do you have a text to refer to this food combining thing?

The text I follow comes from the book Healing With Whole Foods.... Food combining is just a part of this wonderful book and I highly recommend it. It leans a little more towards a vegetable-based diet for my liking and uses meat mostly for medicinal purposes, but I can adjust it to my BTD/GTD diet quite easily, and it might be just perfect as is for an AB. You can also find lots of good information on the web as well, just Google "food combining". Here is one of the top searches...
Food combining is one of those things that you have to try for yourself because you're not going to find any scientific evidence of its effectiveness. I'm one of those people who "swear by it" even without digestive problems. I would even apply it with my genoharmonic food list. Hope it works for you.
