Hi Everybody,

I have "Essene, Manna Bread" as a diamond on my SWAMI.  I understand this is sprouted wheat?  But "wheat, sprouted" is a black dot on my SWAMI!  

How does that make any sense?

I only know the brand Nature's Path.

AND to make it more confusing the SWAMI lists "100% Sprouted Bread (from allowed grains)" as an avoid!

perhaps there s no store bought essene or manna bread without avoids...
most commercial breads add wheat flour in the mix.
reading ingredients is advised, and preferably make your own.

I haven't tried making my own Manna bread yet. I have found a bakery that makes a completely wheat free Manna bread Julian Bakery.  I've tried their Manna bread, Mama Bear, Cinnamon Almond Raisin, and the Rye. All are wheat free and are made from other grains liket spelt or kamut. All ingredients are listed so you can cross check with your list of approved grains.

Nature's Path produces a Rye Manna Bread:

Ingredients: Sprouted organic rye kernels and filtered water.

Does anyone know where to buy Essene bread?

Is Eziekel bread the same?

They are not the same, but many stores carry both.  Both types of bread are usually in the frozen food case.  Most health food stores carry both breads, and many large grocery stores at least carry Ezekiel and may carry manna as well.

My health food stores don't have it nor does my grocery store

Essene bread is sometimes labeled Manna, if you are having trouble locating it.

It is available online.

There is a whole foods that carries Manna/Essene bread in Orlando.

It should also be carried at natural food stores closer to you, I just do not have a list of which carry and which do not carry Manna/Essene bread in central Florida.

If you have never had Essene bread before, it is very different from 'regular' bread. In my experience it takes some getting used to, but once you do, it's actually very tasty.

Essene or Manna bread is sweeter.  I love the one with carrots and raisins although lately I've been trying to avoid it altogether.  It's fabulous in the morning, warmed a little with a little fresh almond butter on it.
