What?  I guess the cold I'm suffering from is making me foggy-brained, but I don't understand.

Elderberry...elderberry...elderberry..it will cure it practically over night, and you'll never catch one again if you eat the jelly or drink the tea..

Myself or my kids are not catching colds anymore. For the last 3 years..Now, sinus infections are another story (bacterial).

Taking several teaspoons of elderberry extract a day.  Hasn't touched it.  Or.....maybe it's keeping it from being worse.  Taking vit. C too.  And lots of juiced limes.  My nose ... oh, my nose.

You know what I would like to see, as a semi-regular contributer of recipes?  I'd like to be able to search by author.  I write down recipes and then forget about them.  If I could search for my own recipes, "by Ribbit", then I could find what I'm looking for.  Maybe I just need to start my own list somewhere else....just a thought though.

If elderberry doesn't work it must be bacterial. Are you going to the doc?  You might need antibiotics.

And restart my lifelong fight against Candida?  No thanks.  I can get rid of bacteria, it just takes longer.  The children are better (although tired and fussy).  It's just me who lingers on.  My nose is better today, but my throat still hurts.  Crossed my mind that it could be a mild case of strep, but I'm not that sick.

I didn't realize I could look up recipes by author (I spend more time foruming than recipeing.  I'm glad that's there.  I've posted a lot more than I realized!

Ribbit,
Have you tried Colloidal Silver?

I know that some store CS has been sitting around for too long and isn't effective.  We make our own so we know how old it is...

If the problem is a sinus infection causing nasal drip, rinsing with a dilute salt water solution can often flush the little buggers out.  I would use 1/4 t. salt in a cup warm water and sniff it up until it drains into the throat...  Try to catch it and spit it out, rather than swallow it.  It can be messy, but effective!

I have tried it before with little/no results, but that doesn't mean I'm against trying it again.  It's just terribly expensive to "experiment" with.

No, what worked for me was lime juice.  DH got me a big bag of limes and every time my throat starting hurting I'd juice a lime and drink it straight down.  My sore throat would vanish and I could sleep.  Every couple of hours I'd have to do it again (and usually once during the night).  I'm all better now except for being very, very lethargic.  I had to go to the garden this morning because I had watermelons, green beans and okra that just had to be picked.  We're leaving tomorrow for nearly a week, and I couldn't leave the watermelons out there to rot.  Now I'm exhausted and overheated and.....well.  I think I'm on the mend though.

I just joined the sinus infection club. I probabaly caught it from my son.    I'm using saline spray..sudafed..blah..

What would one recommend for larygitis? I've almost completely lost my voice
Help..(raspy sound emerging..)Could this be viral and the elderberry doesn't affect it? It's 1:30 am so you would wonder who I'm trying to talk too..
My little son was still up...I'm going to bed and see if I can sleep. I just had some tea with honey.

Vit C 1 gram every hour for duration of illness ; colloidal silver ; propolis ; elderberry ; echinacea ; rosehips ; olive leaf extract ; ashwaganda ; zinc up to 50 mg but not for too long ; increase the om ega 3 fatty acids ....the list of immune boosters is endless but really dose yourself up.

Since I started taking vit c daily in a buffered or ester form I haven't been ill and that was about 8 - 9 years ago. (I hope I'm not jinxing myself by saying that so I'll come down with a nasty bug, lol)

Perhaps even better - take safe but a high dose as possible of your warrior genotype supplements. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

IMO, Always best to have a doc's supervision when using anything, like that or hormones. Thanks C_Sharp.

Or how much he was drinking?

A healthy body has the ability to remove excess silver, but as with any other toxin, it is only up to a point...  There have been some very good studies done that show the body will remove more silver than the normal recommended dosage (even if taken every day ) would present.

Maybe he needs BTD...

I'm curious to see if the blue man's girlfriend turns blue, too. I saw a bit on them the other day showing her drinking CS with him. She thinks it won't happen to her if she doesn't apply it to her skin. If she is drinking as much as he does of his homemade brew....  it might happen anyway.

My personal experience with CS has been very positive. I mainly use it for that scratchy throat that warns of a cold brewing. Gargle with CS a few times..... all gone!
I have a small device that I use to make my own, since shelf-life is limited. I don't make it very concentrated, and I don't use it very often......

I'm back.  My cold is gone.  I still have to blow my nose several times a day, but it's pretty much gone.
