hi there, i've peas/ green, yellow which is a diamond on my swami, however, twice i had this 'lethal' combination for breakfast and both times i felt super brain fogged and immediately grogy/drowsy after eating.

What i'm asking is, could the yellow split peas be rated differently? Lentils are my neutrals which i personally don't do well on them.

My breakfast today:
1) sardine pate - made with plain sardines + 1.5 tablespoons of rice bran + 2 teaspoons of blackstrap molasses
2) cooked hulled millet (certified gluten free) + yellow split peas
3) around 60gs of raw blueberries

sardines/ rice bran/ blackstrap/ millet are my diamonds
blueberries are my superfood
split peas i'm not sure how it ranks

any help would be great! Thanks in advance for your input

How do you do on millet when you don't have it with peas? How do you do with peas when you don't have it with the millet?

It might be something about this combination of foods that you have trouble with, rather than any of the foods individually.

i did well with millet alone and millet with frozen peas, garden peas

i can't remember feeling tired when i made hummus using yellow split peas + ghee

but chickpea rating is avoid for b nonsec, and this yellow split pea has a similar structure as chickpea, it thickens the soup and it's rather starchy

p!s i do not have a blood glucose issue

Ayaka-I noticed you were from Singapore.

I just thought I would mention that split peas in the US are often different than the yellow split things in the far east.

Split peas in the US are dried garden peas (a vegetable).

http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/depictor5.pl?54

These can be yellow or green.  But even if they are yellow they are just a variety of what is called green peas or sweet peas or garden peas.  When not dried they are served as a vegetable.

If what you are eating is a pigeon pea or a lentil, it is not what is rated in SWAMI or the GenoType book as a split pea.

We had another thread that determined that Toor(Tur) Dal is indeed not a split pea, even if they look similar.

Actually they look about the same to me.

Here is an example from Amazon of yellow split peas

My guess is it may be difficult to get what we call split peas in the US in the East.

indeed, it was the split peas that dealt the damage. In fact it does damage over time as well. I've been having the same brkfast combi just less the split peas and didn't feel the effect of brainfog

however, the metabolic syndrome continued to befall me as i need awhile to really detox that out.. Eating only 60% of my usual food intake and gaining weight..

blood sugar swings in the morning can cause brain fog. Is this a higher carb breakfast than usual?

Today's brkfast
Carb: sugar: protein
54:15:7

wed's brkfast (with the split peas)
60: 13: 20

so i don't think it's due to carbs/sugars. I don't really have a blood glucose issue
