Well the Swami I had before had diabetes as my main issue, cancer as well, and otherwise, there is no place to talk about reccurring headaches. (daily for 6 hours)

The comparison is stimulating and for the price of a clinic (3-400) visit possibly well worth my effort.  It took me a few month to even just look at it.  I have it now on computer which allows me to SEE the Deep Blue color for some items especially good for Cancer prevention, in my case- estrogen is affecting my breast cancer negatively.

Now I am somewhat exited as I have some items differently allocated, while some items dramatically changed.  I am getting exited to now try some ways to incorporate the new food list, while still try to adhere to low carbs - for my diabetes needs.

The new SWAMI is now worth the clinic visit.  Having it on MY computer now in living color made all the differences.

I am just sharing some of my exitement.   Right now I can say WOW to the difference.  my computer SWAMI is my friend, and seeing it any time I wish to check something is soooo valuable there.

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

I have a SWAMI from the clinic too and an old SWAMI from before I went which is on my computer.
My two diets are similar but also very different.  My clinic SWAMI has hardly no dairy....my original
SWAMI has a lot.

How did you get your new SWAMI from the clinic onto your computer?  Did you scan the pages?

I just keep my SWAMI in the kitchen and read the pages from the binder I was given. It would be
so much easier to get it onto my computer.

May I ask you ladies how long it took you to get an appointment at the clinic? Did you see DrD? When I called to inquire about an appointment last fall I was told the doc had a waiting list and that I wouldn't be able to get in to see him until the following year.

Well I was able to get a clinic appointment with in a 3 month.   Knowing as much as I did about the diet here (20 years) I was somewhat underwhelmed by the visit.. I really would have loved to LEARN more...  but have no idea WHAT that would be...

Basically the first visit was taking measurments, saliva tests and the like..
and then I met Dr D for a short period.  He gave me great advise- drink grapejuice- for my cancer prevention..

It is not possible to expect more.  One needs to have questions in ones mind or the time (90 min.) gets away...

As for the clinic SWAMI..  I got it on computer because the 'Deep Blue' link for the food choices for cancer prevention needed to be seen clearly.  I asked that the office send it to me and I think I paid a small fee for it.. it took a while to get it but it was well worth it..  I finally had time to take notice of the changes today.. late - for various reasons all my own.

For those who are (more) new to the diet or way of life, stages of health and healing, the papercopy works well to take home the same day.. but I am on my computer way more then in my easy chair, so for me the computer copy was worth waiting to be input and getting sent later.

I was told by Dr. D. that the SWAMI would change dramatically within 2 month.  I suppose that meant after the next visit,  but I am late getting started so for now I am postponing my followup for 3 month.  Yet I see many changes..
I am grateful for all the attention from Dr. D.  I feel it.

...and yes no dairy for only 2 dairy products any more in Beneficials.  But I can have apples.

How about going to the U of Bridgeport "shift" which is made up of trainees, trained by Dr D & others.  Sometimes Dr D shows up, but the work the interns do Is supervised by him. I feel it is as good as seeing him.
When my kids were little, they went to the student clinic  of the podiatry college. it was better than going to a podiatrist, as the students saw the patients, but the profs checked their work, so it was guaranteed to be good.  Too bad they moved 50 miles away. I loved to go there.  Oh, it was cheaper, too!

Dr. D'Adamo only sees patients through the clinic at the University of Bridgeport. It is students that do the intake information but he oversees the input into the computer and the details in regards to the supplements.

It is worth it to get it right and target your needs. You do have to do the work when you get home-- your private time becomes the healing time.

BluesSinger I think there is someone doing SWAMI in Eugene.

And there is Ryan Partovi in San Diego and he will do intake over the phone.

You can view your Pro diet menu planner, by entering a url which would be on your paper copy. usually on the page after the geno harmonic foods

assuming its a swami GenoType III that you are talking about.

susanC    In my case a phone intake would have been 'wrong' as it was determined that after 20 years as nonnie, I am supposed to be a Secretor!  I find that hard to swallow.  My first test was done in a medical setting.  Yet let s say, it is easier to accept it then fight it.  I get many more choices and who cares, in the end, food is going to tell.

But at what price a phone conversation?  I can see the advantage of at least something or someone to talk to.   My 3 month of ability to ask questions will be up now or soon, but for me, the time since the appointment, was too -confusing- I needed time to regroup, to accept, and getting Swami on line was a must.  I am 'old' and stubbornly wanting to 'digest'/accept things and that takes time.

I have on offer of paying about half to see a Dr  the clinic is offering.  I am certain that it will be as good as seeing the students currently at the clinic.

The Cost of supplements is another consideration here.  I took the ones first sold to me, at about 280.- (1-2-3-month) I can not tell what they did for me.  I am CERTAIN that they where good for me and kept me calm and made me healthier.  The cost is nothing compared to being sick, maybe get cancer again and so on.  But all these costs must be juggled in any budget.

I know I will find the money if I really want something.  I am not suggesting that the sups are more than they should be, but they add up.  At the very least, I TOOK them, and that is a great plus.  When I buy sups any place most often they end up given away or in my freezer.  I get lazy when I see little or no effect at all.  Even the last 2 boxes of Trehalose Complex that worked so well are sitting there calling me to pay attention.  Just lazy/for I like it.

I have no excuse worth it, just my own attitude, and my behavior. I have taken so many pills over the 63 years in pain, that I am fighting myself.  I am also preoccupied with shoulder injuries a year ago; I stretched too far, in anger, on a ladder and tore the shoulder to shreds... I am in pain, and I am tired of not sleeping because of the pain or the hot sweats.  I wake on the hour.  Sups did not make this better = nor worse.  But it’s all hard to live with/emotionally, as well...   I want to get better and while the shoulder is making progress, I have spent over 3 thousand out of pocket on doing it alternatively. Some day soon I hope I will be good again.... Just started again with my excellent exercise Guru.  He knows how to fix me -now that I am finally a LOT better. Yet again, at out of pocket cost.

Anyone ill and in pain has my sympathy. I feel for you all, just as I felt for every tooth the dentist drilled on his clients when I worked with him for 10 years.

Yet with all these trials and considerations... DOING whatever we can is worth it.  I never regret the money I spent, just the money I spent on other things.  BTD/GTD/ SWAMI/Clinic visit/ supplements, all is worth its money in gold bricks.  I save money every time I deal with Dr D' products.   The only regret I have is that with allllll the sups I ever bought for this or that - none where included in the ones I was prescribed.  I am certain they have means to test better than I have guessing.

I ate almonds at night and got heartburn... stopped eating them and I am good again.  My diets said I could have almonds, but maybe not with shells on them, or washed in salt water or who knows... BUT still in the Original Eat Right book, almonds where a neutral... and neutrals in general are not my preffered foods... Dr D KNEW then what I learned 18 years later --.

----------- The INPUT into their clinical analyses as shown in their SWAMI Pro... has many, many  more lines than the personalized one. (I never saw the results of the SWAMI Pro), the one I received only shows the regular swami inputs. -- I would have liked to learn about what they saw-- how they put things together and so on with the sups, and maybe get more info on lets say diabetes or cancer... ..  There might never be enough time for such. I understand, but I can dream...   I might have liked a follow up DVD with a student talking about my 'case'.

The SWAMI pro requires, I believe wholeheartedly) additional knowledge about blood work, saliva and other tests they took.  ---------- And for that alone: the visit was worth it, even if I never could afford to go there again.  / But be sure to bring written questions with you.

For now I will start all over again, and see what I can do to add way more Deep Blue foods to my Super Beneficials and my Diamond foods.  A challenge alone worth the trip to CT. Anyone who can go there, but can not afford the motel stay is welcome from all over the world to stay with me. The place and the people are lovely.  Seeing Dr. D. is the icing on this cake.  Someday he might have someone do a webinar/DVD explaining some of the SWAMI Pro to us lay people, I would pay for that. Some learned student doing webinars on all sorts of things would be fun to, a new carrier if one would like to teach.  Where is that movie maker we saw here????

Someday I’ll shut up with Tweets... 144 caracters- haha OK here is the summary of all I said above:

Tweet:  / Wherever you go for BTD - be sure to bring written questions with you.

BluesSinger, hopefully this link brings you to the list of practitioners in Oregon.  There are two in Eugene - a husband and wife, who have separate practices (two different locations.  And there's one in Gresham.

Yes because a practitioner can input a lot of additional information depending on your issues that
the online SWAMIx can't.  But still, most of what I thought about my original SWAMI -- the foods
I felt weren't right for me -- all that cheese eventually got eliminated by my professional SWAMI.

And in the end, my final diet looks and feels more correct.

The online SWAMI had me typed closer to an Explorer. Professional SWAMI looks a bit more A-like
than my original SWAMI....a bit less Teacher-ish.  Many beneficials moved to neutral....many
neutrals moved to black dots.

Would be nice to know what a SWAMI practitioner offers compared to the clinic in Bridgeport.  I live very close to Katherine Finan in Jackson TN.  I guess I could call and find out what she offers.  But, I'm pretty happy with my current SWAMI.  I don't have any health conditions other than I'm fairly overweight which less calories and regular exercise would cure.
