I just realized when I looked up Canistel from the Genoharmonic section that it appears to be a common collective name for Sapotes, etc., but that in the Fruit list Sapotes is used in the listing.  Any ideas why the difference?

Canistel is from live food
Sapote is from fruit

I presumed canistel was Pouteria campechiana
I presumed Mamey Spotes were Pouteria sapota

I thought the canistels had a lighter smoother skin than mamey sapotes, but have not actually ever had the canistels.

I also think canistels are supposed to be sweet, so most people would consider them fruit rather than vegetables (they are called egg fruit)
