I'm starting this for my SIL so she can get some help with her new SWAMI program.
But first can you tell her how to get signed on to access this web site.

------
I've been on SWAMI about 3 weeks and love it but I went off wheat and corn and coffee cold turkey and got migraines. Now I have a cup of coffee in the morning. but still off wheat and corn. still getting migraines but they aren't so bad.Have any of you had a similar experience?

First, go to the website by starting the browser and typing:
http://www.dadamo.com/

There is a blue banner about 2 inches down the page that has "Home", "Dr. Peter D'Adamo", "Individualized Diets", "Community", etc...
Roll the mouse to "Community" and a drop-down menu appears, click on "Message Boards."

The same blue banner is still there with 2 light blue banners below.  In the second light blue banner, the buttons are "Login options",  "Create a new account",  Forgot password",  then 2 boxes where one says Login name and the next has dots, then a white button named Login.

Initially, a user must create an account and be approved, so create your account - I already have and don't remember everything about it, but it should be rather straightforward, then you will have to check your e-mail for some time, as the accounts aren't generally approved instantly - may be several hours, etc.  When you get an email approval, you still must click on the portion of the e-mail to verify that you want the account - to make sure someone didn't use your e-mail address without your knowledge...

Once the approval process is completed, you come back to this same page and enter your Login name and password into the proper boxes and click "Login" and you should have access to the forum.

When I first stopped corn, my head was so painful that it was like a pressure in my head, so after 3 weeks of no corn, there was a light-headed feeling, but whenever I am detoxing corn, I get sinus headaches and pain in the back of the head...

You might utilize the Detoxification Protocol to assist in removing the junk faster, but this may make the headaches worse initially as there is more junk in the bloodstream for removal...

The discomfort should continue to get less and less as the toxin load reduces...

I never suffered from headaches in my life until i switched to this diet, and believe me, it made me want to throw in the towel on the third day!  Then someone on here reminded me that headaches (and the fatigue I was feeling) can be indicative of detox; the body is moving out toxic c**p, and that c**p has to go into your blood stream and cycle out in order to do that.  I found that drinking LOTS of water and taking short walks and naps helped a lot.  Good luck to you!

@purlgirl...I USED to get regular bad migraines until when I got the last one in early 1985 I read that thyme takes away the pain.  That day I had no thyme but had Italian seasoning and thyme was one of the ingredients.  In sheer desperation I made an 'Italian seasoning tea.'  It was a bit strong, actually, horrible, but blow me down, my headache eased.  After that I started cooking with a lot of thyme and to this day I have never had another migraine.  Two years ago I gave that tip to a man where I worked, who also got regular migraines and he started cooking with thyme and also seemed to stop getting them.  Thyme also worked on a younger sister who came home from work with a migraine one day.  Fresh or dried leaves, it doesn't seem to make a difference.  Just get it down your throat, that head pain is SO bad!  Good luck to you.  Oh, and SWAMI works, I got back to my early twenties weight, eating three meals and two snacks, more than I ever have.  No wheat or corn, I use rice instead..bread, pasta, grain.  And still the odd cup of coffee, but not every day.    Regards,   Anna.

Thank you all for your help.
SIL comes to town on Mondays and uses my computer. I e-mailed your responses to her.
I know she will be so happy for the help and encouragement. Hopefully she will be able to sign on from her own computer soon.

Personal note: no wonder I love thyme.  I will def use and share that migraine tip with others.
I've had my SWAMI (Teacher) about 1 1/2 yr -- love it. One of my younger sis and her DH have theirs (both Explorers)  SIL make 4 in the family so far.
