I had major issues doing my finger prints. I have lines that go up and down, so I dont know if thats the white lines (I marked yes on swami). Its just so hard to get a print on paper. My daughter helped and she looked at the paper, my fingers with ink on them and then once I washed the ink off. I barely have a finger print, its so odd.

Im not 100% certain I got it all right, but Im going to stick close to the explorer diet. I have a few more things to compare (like if non-secretor or A1A2 changes it).

What do you replace the meat with when following dr D's advice for AB's to not eat meat when losing weight? Can you up the eggs and dairy?

Or if my allergies are acting up, do I modify as per the allergies book?

I think with my current weight I have a higher need for calories, however I am tracking with weight watchers and my points are the lowest they can be.

My guess is that your fingerprints are quite diminished, a sign that your gut needs a lot of healing. Mine were the same way in the beginning-- almost impossible to determine.

You could be meat free, I suppose, but your B-side really calls for some animal protein. Turkey would be the best choice IMO. A lttle lamb now and then if you're so inclined (if your Swami allows it), and plenty of beneficial fish regardless of whether or not you're going poultry and meat free.

As your gut heals and your immune system revs up (it may be rather dramatic, search "Herx"), your allergies will probably begin to diminish. It's a remarkable transformation to see and feel your body becoming healthy again.

You'll hear mention of "one-size-fits-all diets" around here. Weight Watchers is one of them. Simply focusing on fat and calorie intake doesn't address the huge role that a healthy, efficient metabolism plays, and you get that from eating the right food, not necessarily from eating less food.

You might be surprised to find that by eliminating avoids while increasing diamonds has a far greater effect on your weight loss than calories in-vs-calories out (assuming a reasonable caloric intake). As Dr. D. mentioned in ER4YT, AB's can show the most dramatic improvements of all the blood types. This was certainly my case as I shed 25 Lbs in the first few months and never once counted calories or fat. If I was reducing them, it came about naturally and without cravings for either-- I just followed my Swami's portion and frequency guidelines as best I could. Recommended supplements helped a lot, too. Especially Polyflora, Activator, Catalyst and CLA.

I've been doing ww online since mid June. It helps me remember not to overeat, but as Im doing blood type again I am finding that Im following the points and healthy guidelines, but dont care as much as long as I stick close to the points and it tells me when to stop at the end of the day. Its also something Im still holding onto for now.

I just posted a thread about my swami. I dont know if I have it right and the difference between no setting, sectretor, and nonnie are very different portions. My gut tells me I would be a secretor, and looking at the diet, my gut tells me that one is the right one.

The thing I dont like about the blood type and what scared me off before is lack of support and not knowing for sure what pattern I fit into. Im a planner. Im glad to be back to it now, but I need to know I have my swami right or do what feels right at the very least.

Also my choices changed when I took out the white lines (mine are not verticle). I wonder if mine are from having sever eczima the 1st half of this year. I would get blisters all over my fingers from soap, touching veggies, everything. Its gone now but the rough skin remains.

Which one of us is confused?

If your white lines are not vertical, then they are horizontal, which means that you have white lines per SWAMI definition and should have the box checked...

If the lines go "up and down" as stated above, I guess the question is, "How are you looking at your fingerprints to see the up and down?"

Yes they go up and down (verticle), Im being confusing.

I cant really see my actual print myself (poor vision maybe). My daughter looked at my fingers with ink and without ink, and my prints I put on several pages of paper.

All I can see are lines that go up and down when I look at my fingers.

When the fingers are upright, do the lines go up and down or side to side? Or both?

When I look at my hand upright, from tippy top down on the tips. Lower but still above where the nuckle is they do both. That is below the print area. These lines go all the way down my fingers but arent connected the whole way.

I realize this is an old thread, but I have some SWAMI questions, too! I'm new to the GT diet (I'm only about 1/2 way through the book).
Here are my questions:
Is it worth while to purchase SWAMI before I have begun the standard genotype diet or should I start with the basic diet and them buy SWAMI when I need to "tune up" my diet?
I don't know my secretor status; is it necessary for SWAMI results to be accurate? (I'd rather not buy the expensive test kit if I can get away with skipping it)
I read in another thread that Dr. D is coming out with a new version of SWAMI but I didn't pay attention to the date on that post and don't remember where I read it. Is there a new version coming out?
If so:
Should I buy the current one now or wait for the new one? Will it upgrade automatically if/when a new version is released?
Any other advice for a newbee??

You can get SWAMI anytime.  I like to make as few major changes to my diet as I can due to having to categorize foods in my brain...

Actually, it is great to run SWAMI with both settings and compare food lists to see how important it is to get the Secretor test...

A new version is in the works, but we don't have a release date for it - and I definitely wouldn't wait for it to get a better diet for myself or someone else...  We have heard that the upgrade will be automatic and free of charge to existing users.

Just do it...  Using SWAMI is the best decision we've made for both myself and DD...  We both had issues that were not being addressed by either of the book diets, but we are both happy with our SWAMI Xpress diets...  It is most important to avoid the avoids, then work on portion size/frequencies and genoharmonic combinations...  There are lots of options so ask questions if you need any clarification, etc...
