So the post office has my swami and it is arriving today. In my proactive attempt, I am reading through the pdf and have questions.

     Section 1: http://www.northamericanpharmacal.com/SWAMIXpress/SWAMIXpress.pdf
1. Activity Multiplier is a pull-down that tells SWAMI Xpress™ how active you are. With BMI (‘BodyMass Index’) and BMR (‘Basal Metabolic Rate’) it is used to calculate the your ‘Total Daily EnergyExpenditure’ (TDEE). The TDEE is used to set portion sizes and frequencies and help determine caloric requirements

How do you calculate this?

Section 2:

Your A1/ A2 Sub Type (Optional)
A1/A2 subtype information can be added to SWAMI Xpress™. This refinement applies only to
individuals who are blood types AB or A. This distinction exerts a mild influence on aspects of
protein selection.

How would I find this out?

3. This is a very useful and inexpensive test that checks to see if you have the gene to taste either
phenylthiocarbamide (PTC) or a related substance called propylthiouracil (PROP). PROP outcome is
critical to GenoType determination. It is highly recommended that you include this data. There are
three possible results:
     • ‘Non-tasters’ taste nothing from the strip
     • ‘Tasters’ can taste the bitter substance
     • ‘Super-tasters’ have an extremely strong reaction to the bitter substance

In college we did a test where you tasted two types of paper. Some people couldn’t taste them, some people could taste one, but I tasted them both and they were very bitter.
Is this the same test?
Would I be a super-taster?
Is there any link between this and secretors status?

GT3 Teacher (Blood Group AB Rh Positive Secretor Status Unknown)
I still have more testing to complete my swami
I'm cooking for all 4 types, and my work is cut out in the mom cave. Our blood types are as follows AB+ (me), O-, A+ (x2 adult children), B+(2 year old).

In college biology classes the taste test is common. It would be the same.

There is not a direct link between taster status and secretor status.

A1/ A2 Sub Type

Requires a blood test.

Here is the test for the EU:

Procedure for obtaining blood test varies by where you are located.

Yes.

As you indicated above activity level is located in section 1.

Activity level in that section is located between "Your Gender" &
"Your Myers-Briggs Personality Type".

Since Im not able to look Im trying to picture it, and I am confused looking for clarity. This section below is only how active I am then, right? Do I need my BMI BMR TDEE calculated somehow?

Im only on p28 so even if I get into the swami today its likely I wont get results today.

TDEE is a nice interesting thing to calculate it.

However, as I indicated above, it is not a figure you need for SWAMI.

In SWAMI what you have is the drop down list, that I pictured above.

The code for the drop down list that I inserted above is lifted directly from the SWAMI product.

It is the actual code of the product.

These are the choices for activity level: Sedentary (little/no exercise),Lightly Active (1-3 days/wk), Moderately Active (3-5 days/wk), Very Active (6-7 days/wk), Athlete (2x daily)

No choice involves TDEE.

The usa is not listed, nor is the method.

Method is a blood test.

Normal procedure is you react blood sample against a reagent that determines if the A1 antigen is present in the sample.

If it is the person is  A1, if it is not then it is assumed the person is A2 .

In the US four groups commonly test blood, doctors office (usually submit it to someone else to actually test), hospitals, blood centers, and independent testing laboratories.

Not all the of these groups in your local area probably stock the reagent for A1. So you may have to contact a number of groups before you find a group willing and able to test your blood.

Since the test is likely to cost you $70 or more, many people run SWAMI with it set for different blood subgroups. Then you can see how your results differ.

Then you can see whether the foods change enough to make it worthwhile to spend the time and money to get the test.

I sent my blood to Arizona for testing and spent about $100 on the test.  That group no longer test blood for people not seen in their clinic.

Im only on p28

All the sections on Page 28 are optional.

There are three sections mentioned on Page 28:

Section 5: Your Health History (Optional)
Section 6: Gender Specifics (Optional)
Section 7: Family History (Optional)

These sections do not refer to  TDEE or Activity Level

After page 28, most of the data is taken from questions in the GenoType book. So if you have figures from that book, you just enter them in SWAMI.

Data entry stops on Page 38. So you are most of the way through the instructions you need prior to running.

If you enter your height and weight, then SWAMI can calculate your BMI for you and use that figure in any internal calculations it needs. BMR is usually estimated based on activity level and weight.

Do I have to have all the required fields to run it?

I cant figure out my somatotype.

Also I figured out my Cephalic index, but don't see the field to input that. Its the one starting with M.

I left my myers brigs score at work so I guess I cant finalize until tomorrow.

Also I have lost my genotype kit, I bought it a while back and thought I had put it in my desk and its not there. So I may not be able to get any finger prints done.

Thanks so much for helping, I'm excited to do this.

Also Is it something I can save and print later, or do I need to be at a computer I can print at when I run it.

It appears it wont let me go on without finger prints, any quick fix suggestions. Maybe I should stop an get ink tomorrow, is there anything that will wash off so I don't look inked at work? I can see that going over well, I walk in and suggest they finger printed me before I got out of the slammer. hahaha

Would paint work? Can I change the finger print answers if I get it wrong the 1st time.

If a field is required a diet plan cannot be calculated without something in the field. Does not have to be correct, but something has to be in the field.

You can definitely print later.

I recommend not printing very often while one is still figuring out what values one really wants to use.

Also color does not do much for me, so I generally print in black only.

I use rubbing alcohol and a cloth to remove stamp pad ink.

Other people just use soap and water.

Yes.

If you cannot read a fingerprint initially you can use "composite", for the pattern until you can read it.

So I filled in that area, and but still need ideas on how to get my finger prints. Someone told me use tape, don't think that will work.

Also why is my ethnicity not listed? I'm caucation. I mean this should be on there.

I wasn't sure about this either, I am British, white Caucasian.  After much googling, it seemed I was N European, I may be corrected though on this.

SWAMI is more accurate than to take a "generic" caucasian. Dr. D. is looking for some indication of what the family migration pattern was, so wants to know for instance, if your family is from Ireland or from Russia - both could be considered Caucasian, but could have significantly different phenotype information.

Yes but something seems off. Either Im not finding how to calculate this, or he didnt tell me somewhere along the way. This information, is it important?

The only thing I know of my background is Im Irish, English, Dutch and a touch of German. What ethnicity should I use?

I would probably use Northern European, but a call to SWAMI support will get you the best answer.
