...From another thread, still my post, would Love an answer or insight....

..."Ruthiegirl,

Thanks for clarifying the 4 separate listings for the Sea Vegetables...My SWAMI has put the Irish Moss, Spirulina and Wakame as SF's & Diamonds, but has also relegated the Kelp, Kombu, Nori and Bladderwrack to Avoids...

Now, I had been taking Fucus Plus (Bladderwrack) since I started GTD in May (but have dropped it like a hot brick since Swami) -  but I also wanted to order some Deflect O - except I notice it also has Bladderwrack 200mg - What's a girl to do???   Does anyone with the Encyclopedia know what Bladderwrack has done wrong all of a sudden (for Gatherers or Nonnies or O's), or have any suggestions, please...

Thanks i advance

I would call or email DPN with your questions. They'll know whether or not the Deflect is a good choice for you, even though it contains an "avoid" ingredient. Sometimes the benefit of the overall supplement outweighs the dangers of individual ingredients, especially in the quantities found in the supplements. I get pear juice as a black dot yet SWAMI recommends proberry syrup which contains pear juice. DPN clarified that the product is fine for me to use.

Are DPN the same as NAP (or for me in the UK Greenfields.co.uk aka Tom Greenfield and his wife in Canterbury?)

Yes. D'Adamo Personalized Nutrition is the newer name; I'm not sure what NAP stands for. I assume that the people in the UK can answer your questions as well as the ones in Connecticut, and it's most logical to ask from the people you'll be buying from.

Just for the record, NAP is North American Pharmacal.  DPN is D'adamo Personalized Nutrition. The same.

Bladderwrack is an avoid in my SWAMI.

Fucus vesiculosis is recommends my SWAMI, not in the food list but through the following explanation to Gatherer Catalyst, which contains iodine:

Quoted from SWAMI Xpress
Iodine: Iodine from kelp (Fucus vesiculosis) helps normlize the thyroid and enhance the metabolism. Many kelp and bladderwrack supplements are not Fucus vesiculosis, and are not as effective. Fucus blocks many lectins from attaching to the body's cells. Our Fucus product is the highest quality, organic, freeze dried, and unlike the tinctures, high in fucose.

I find the above quite confusing, because F. Vesiculosis is frequently also named bladderwrack, but I don't know what I would do nor where would I be if not for the great smashing incredible help of Fucus vesiculosis as per Dr. D's advice.

Ruthie, Chloe, Lola and Yaeli -thanks Ladies, for your inputs - extremely helpful and insightful - I did start to write an email to DPN/NAP but got distracted when the sun came out...and spent the rest of the day outside away from the confuser (!) in the veggie plot and hiking with the doggies....

...Having considered what I was going to ask DPN/NAP about Bladderwrack in particular to MY Swami (in my draft email of earlier) - I now think I just need to find out WHO at DPN/NAP needs to update the SWAMI text /data base  AND the SUPPLEMENT info panels...????

It makes no difference to me, now that I understand it, but potentially SWAMI Xpress members will be looking at Deflect O, Fucus Plus, Gatherer Catalyst (to mention but three), and thinking - it's an AVOID so I just won't buy that one - needs a little internal "Housekeeping"...
