Thank you for the links Victoria, I've just re-measured again   still gatherer

I think flat is easier but they do tend to come out a bit longer doing it that way - but still all in proportion, i.e. they're all a bit longer so it doesn't matter.

Good - The important thing is being able to see which is longer/shorter.

I've just thought - do you mean a scanner?  I don't think there is any glass on my printer, it's  a good printer but you just put your paper in, connect it to your puter etc, and press 'print'.  I think a printer/scanner would work well though.  I do have a scanner somewhere though, probably in a box in the garage.

This may be referring to the type of printer in Print shops, where you can pay per copy.  They have a glass top.

You probably don't need any more info about fingerprints, but anyway in case someone else is in doubt, I found that face makeup of the compressed powder type made it easier to read them visually.

That's a good tip, Jenny.  Thanks!

Ok, so I'm nearly ready to compute my SWAMI but I have a few questions first:

* What is ancestral genetics and where do I find out mine?

* When it asks your genotype, should I put in my pre-determined one - mine is Gatherer according to the measurements, but I really don't feel like that at all, and I only tick one of the boxes in the strength meter for Gatherer.  So should I leave that for SWAMI to compute, or tick Gatherer?

* I'm not sure whether I should print out my SWAMI, do I  'save & print' or 'meal plan/ cookbook' option.  I would like both can I ask for one then the other later?

Thanks.

Yes.

You can do each of these options as many time as you want.

Each time you run you choose what you want.

I recommend always having SWAMI compute based on the data you input.  Specifying "Gatherer" will override what the software would calculate.

The is the DNA haplogroup.

If female you may want to consider having a male sibling tested so you can determine both haplogroups at once instead of only the maternal haplogroup.

A variety of firms provide genetic testing.

Two seemed to be preferred by users on the forums.

Great, thanks so am I correct in thinking that  I can edit some details later (e.g. if they change, or I re-measure differently) and I can ask it to print again to see how my SWAMI has changed accordingly?

Hi

My SWAMI says I am 45% hunter (which really seems to fit me, the foods etc) however what will the other % be? do we get to know or not, and does it matter at all?

yep, I tried both ways but the Hunter type does seem to fit me more I think and it does say I have over-ridden SWAMI choice if I select gatherer (which was the book choice according to finger length and torso/leg etc).

The remaining percentage is what did not match your primary genotype on the first pass through the software.  There is no definition of what it is - only what it is not...  It is what makes you you rather than someone else...!

This is true for most fields. You will note there a few fields marked as "Time locked"

The time locked fields can be be changed but you to contact tech support for SWAMI to change those fields for you.

Yes I noticed it said that by the side of a few things including lactose intolerant. I wasn't sure whether to tick that box or not as I'm not certain, but I found I was much better using lactofree cheese and milk in the past, so guess I must be.   Thanks again.

You will find that clicking lactose intolerant does not eliminate all dairy from the diet, but the foods are adjusted.
