I seem to remember an eat right for your baby book but I can not seem to find it now.

Once I asked Dr.D the same question about SWAMI and pregnancy, here's what he recommended:

I'd increase DHA, RNA nucleotides, folic acid, and use the worldview at 'metabolic thrifty'

Hope this helps..

These are eggs from chickens fed a diet rich in flax seeds.

These are well marked in the grocery store since there is price premium demanded for this type of egg.

Usually the claim is for so many many milligrams of Omega 3s.

Thank you C,  Then I can add flax seeds in the feed of my free range Chickens and that should raise the DHA naturally.  Right?

what is DHA and what is it found most in?

DHA=Docosahexaenoic acid. It is an omega-3 fatty acid that is structural component of the human brain, cerebral cortex, skin, and retina.

The best sources of DHA are: seafood, algae, and especially coldwater fish. In general, the colder the water, the higher the omega-3 content in the fish oil. Common sources of DHA are: salmon, sardines, and tuna.

If you would prefer a plant source use Flax seeds.

Actually you don´t have top feed your hens flax- some breeds have higher DHA and hens that are pastured and eats bugs will have high DHA
I love eggs but I would make sure to et good fish as wel
l- since some people dont convert the ALA in flaxseeds very well.

Good thought HB.  Since my girls, spend most afternoons doing their own hunting, they should be good and healthy.

They made a test in DK
with hens being indoor in stables and fed flax
and hens being outdoor on grass  and fed no flax
- and the eggs from the no flax hens had higher DHA-so I guess that bugs and outdoor life makes a difference- my crazy hens seem healthy and happy about bugs

hello -

I followed my Swami whilst pregnant and had a great pregnancy - I did eat a lot of eggs which were neutral so was fairly relaxed about the lists.  I ate a lot of beneficial or neutral fruit, lots of egg fried rice and sushi (I know it is not recommended but I craved it non-stop), and poppadums.  I am an explorer.
