How big are your typical meals? As in, ounces of protein, cups of grains/starches, cups of veggies and tablespoons of fat? and how many hours between meals ? Also, do you eat animal protein at EVERY meal/snack
I use the eyeball method to roughly approximate my average intake.
Seriously though, after a while you get a feel for how much of something is a serving. I don't force myself to standard servings but at the same time try to to maintain some semblance of consistency with my SWAMI. It doesn't always work.
Over the years my meal patterns have changed. I pretty much snack a couple times in the AM and then have a regular lunch and dinner about 4-5 hours apart.
Are your snacks in the morning mostly protein or what are you eating for snacks? My patterns have almost done a complete reversal. I used to eat tons of protein and now I just want veggies though I do still eat animal protein it is much smaller quantities. Animal protein makes me very hungry if I eat it early in the day or in any normal quantity.
