I have some client's who have been asking some questions in regard to the SWAMI program that I am unable to answer.

One client was concerned about the validity of the SWAMI diet program.  She has concerns in regard to not having all her lab work or knowing her family's health history.  She feels that the questions must be important if they are being asked, and that by not knowing the answers the SWAMI diet isn't as precise as it could be.

I am currently helping her create a SWAMI program.  Even though secretor status is not required to do a SWAMI program, I had her do a secretor test, as I have found that secretor status alters some of the foods on the program.  I don't know how to answer her concerns.

My questions are:
1. How important is it to answer all the questions on the individual use SWAMI programs?
2. How do I explain that the program is still valid, even without all the information present?

I look forward to your responses.  Thank you.

required fields are required, the others are not

run swami with the data you have, once you hit compute, swami will note which fields it requires

then go back and try filling those listed

you will note that basically, the personal data is what counts and Dr D is at the controls

I understand that the required fields are a must.  But then why ask all the other questions?  If they "don't matter", why have them there in the first place?

Thanks for your response, I truly am trying to understand the basis behind all the other questions being asked.

I understand that even if you don't answer all the questions - sometimes there are questions that you just can't answer, for lack of info that you have no way to acquire, like anscerstors' details - the diet will still make a tremendous difference in your life and health.

Even with all questions answered, there will always remain the individual differences, which are a matter of continuous trial and error, even within 100% compliance. Some answers often change or revealed during the progress with the swami diet (even simple data as body weight), and then you may go back to the questionnaire and change or add.

After all, life is dynamic, and the same is its management.

SWAMI adjusts the diet based on the data it has. Enter something like haplotype will move a few things up or down in rating. Most foods stay the same.

Up might be black dot goes to a neutral
Down might be a neutral goes to a black dot

It would be wonderful if everyone had all the data.

But the small adjustments may not be worth spending extra money for testing.

If the client wants they can spend money on genetic testing ...

Some questions are asked about deceased relatives. I cannot get the info so I just leave it blank.

A little fine tuning is lost by the data I left out. But I have a great diet that works for me even though I did not bring my grandfather back to life to verify the health history ...

are you running swami pro for the clients or their own personal version.

if it's there own version swami express then you can add the new date as you get it and further refine the food.

it will still be a great devise for them.

personally i think the secretor status should be a must.

Thank  you for all your responses.

I too agree yaeli that even without all the information "the diet will still make a tremendous difference in your life and health."

Policychecker - Currently I have individual versions of SWAMI that I've been helping people with, not the SWAMI pro.  Although, that will be next!  I do realize that we can always go back and add info to create a more fine-tuned profile.

I was just stumped by an individual who felt the diet was "less valid" if she could not answer all the questions.  My gut reaction was that this diet/lifestlye was not any less valid, but I could understand from her point of view that the report to be generated could be more fine tuned.

I also agree that secretor status should be a mandatory on the SWAMI.  When helping people create a SWAMI program I use to tell them the statistic of 85% of the population are secretors and 15% are non-secretors.  Most of them would opt out of the expensive lab test and assume they fell under the majority.  I've recently made it mandatory that the individuals I help also do the secretor test and thankfully so.  Recently, 7 out of 8 individuals have come back NON-Secretors!!!

I also have a few questons regarding Swami.

My CRP levels are dropping, once they are within the normal range would I change them to normal ?
My iron/ferritin levels are now normal although they were once low, and low thru my childhood.  should I change that ?

Thanks
Lisa
