Today I had reflexology to find a very tender lump on my pancreas reflex.  I have been told by Naturopaths in the past I have an issue with enzyme secretion.  I have been taking enzymes although maybe that's not doing enough.  What further tests can be done to check my pancreas function and any suggestions how to improve my pancreas function.
Thanks

Forgive the "Livestrong" reference, but sometimes I just need to find something that says what I want to share. Magnesium is needed for digestive enzymes. I have found that as I have worked on magnesium levels (tested RBC), my need for digestive enzymes has decreased. http://www.livestrong.com/article/480704-magnesium-digestion/

Also, I find plant based full spectrum digestive enzymes most helpful. I like Digest and Digest Full Spectrum by Enzymetica as well as the Loomis line.

Betaine HCL has also been helpful. Magnesium needed in HCL production as well. When you're low (and Dr. Dean describes low as less than 6.5 RBC) it messes with a lot of body functions. As my Mg increases, I have been able to taper off this and use less, less often.

Sorry I can't comment on the "lump" and don't know how/if that would tie into any of this. Just sharing personal experience.

No fear. Sorry about that. I was just peeking into some things. Might be good to leave a trail here in case someone is searching later....

I wonder if this is a Type A issue, as the Accupuncturist I go to also told me words to the effect that my pancrease wasn't producing enough enzymes.  I didn't realise the magnesium link.  I had been taking a supplement but she thinks I'm not absorbing it, she tested three different ones and none seemed to work except the magnesium oil.    That makes me itch which I've read on one of the threads here that means I am low in magnesium.
I understand celery has a lot of magnesium, and almonds.  So i'm trying to get more through food. Hope that helps, especially as my HC1 is also low.  I take HC1 and digestive enzymes.

I have same issue with pancrease now and like to share what I am going thru.
I had annual check up and had routine pelvic ultrasound in February.
There are some changes since last year and CT scan was ordered.
CT scan incidentally caught the pancrease image and showed abnormality.
ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholanggiopancrea tography) is done and Eus (endoscopic ultrasound) is recommended.
I just had EUS done last week and waiting the result.
Yes there is chance of cancer.

When I read first time Dr D blood type book last summer it mentioned type A has higher risk for cancer and eating snail was highly recommended.

When I start Swami diet last Semptember I tried to get snail and it is not easily available other than cans imported France or Helix Plus from NAP.

I tried Helix Plus and cans once and did not continue.

I just finished reading Dr D Eat Right 4 Your Type Cancer and it says eating snail twice a week is recommended as an anticancer food.

I prefer food source and ordered snails (very expensive) and Deflect A from NAP.

All those tests I mentioned are expensive.
Please check your health insurance is in order before anymore finding.
You have to get the help from both side, naturopathic and western medicine.

Take care.

I find in most place I can find Snails
In grocery stores as long as I am persistent.

I would expect that would be more true in Southern California than other places.

Here are some places to start:

Thuan Phat Market

Safeway (look near canned fish)

Its very scary my anxiety is really high at the moment. GPs done blood test and ultrasound 8 months ago and said all was fine but cancer isnt picked easily up thru ultrasound.

I hope you get good results thinking of you.

Thanks

Please be calm. Emotional issues are very much tied to cancer and it is theorized that the panic and anxiety surrounding diagnosis are what cause secondary cancer or metasticizm. (German New Medicine) You have not even being diagnosed as such. My bad for bringing up the issue. Talk to the reflexologist, I doubt that cancer or tumor is the only reason that would be tender. I saw a girl have extremely tender points on her hands and they were intimately related to grief over her husbands death. When that lifted, the points lifted.

Did you know many folks die with small tumors in their body and that isn't the cause of death? Everyone has cancer! We are constantly getting rid of "abnormal cells"- some of the BTD foods help the body tag those cells for destruction.

We have to quit demonizing a body process and giving it so much power.
I believe I got rid of an excess of "abnormal cells" I believe a few years ago and I'm still kicking. I believe I'm well on the mend and getting rid of this junk (metals) in my body that's getting in the way of optimal functioning. Yes, precaution, detection is important, but scaring ourself into something is bad news. Emotion associated with cancer is often 'conflict'

We have to start listening to the deeper needs of our body. Deep down, we know what we need to be well and radiantly healthy. Put the options before you and it is pretty amazing what happens. Give the body what it needs. Give the mind the mental and emotional rest of clarity and getting rid of negativity and baggage. Cultivate great relationships, reduce stress.

Forgive me for being too brief or sharing something that alarmed you. It was not my intention. Wishing you well.

I have some thoughts in a slightly different direction. When I hear intolerances I start to think about the Phases of detoxification, I,II, and III.In my personal experience my gut could not heal until I paid careful attention to this.I see that many of the foods you have listed are important to be eating in order for your body to appropriately metabolize and then clear the end products of same from the body.If you review the stages of detox and then look at Dr. D's gentle detox pack ingredients you'll find there are ingredients to support each phase.

Another thought. It's now being said that up to 50% of the population have the MTHFR gene mutation. If you do have it I don't know if you can clear out the accumulating toxins fast enough. It has to do with the methylation cycle of digestion and Dr. D's supplements address this to a large extent but may not be ok if you have this mutation and need the methyl form of folate.

In regards to some mention of metal toxicity. This from a woman who helped her child heal from autism I think her blog was called Roo's Clues. Here goes"a persons glutathione level is largely what determines susceptability to metal toxicity-mercury in particular". Yikes, I never knew. Dr. D's Redoxa has reduced glutathione in it.Dang, did he think of everything?
If there is a diagram for the phases of detox on this site I'm just not aware of it. Anyone? I can provide some links with a nice description of the phases and another which describes what FOODS
we can eat to optimize each phase.Sounds more complicated than it is.

Dr. Amy Yasko and MTHFR.net are resources that might be worth exploring. Just starting to peek a bit at those.

On page 2 of this one under metal toxicity is an explanation of what's going on with glutathione.

And this one does not mention Phase 3 the get it out of the body stage.

I am type O, and have always had weakness of nervous/endocrine system, due to poor nutrition, poor daily habits, perhaps poor response to stress and environment and factors I could not control when I was younger.  Plenty of cooked vegetables are needed every day, to provide raw minerals for pancreatic function, maybe a raw veg juice every day - I am a fast oxidizer, GT 'hunter', so I have a carrot/celery juice every day, may add some spinach or other greens.
You can also send away a sample of your hair to USA which tells you what is going on at a cellular level, blood tests don't provide the whole story.  the test is for mineral imbalances and heavy metal toxicity.  Stress/anxiety can use up more minerals/nutrients in your body, ie magnesium.
Many people also consume way too much simple sugars in one form or another, ie fructose in fruit, lactose in dairy, sugar and other sweeteners which stress out the pancreas.  For me, my metabolism is unaturally high which also means many grains also turn to sugar rapidly in my body which then leads to other health issues - ie periodental disease and dysbiosis in the intestines, so I can't eat a lot of grain; low starch millet, small amounts of basmati or brown rice, amaranth, quinoa on occasion.  Eat more simply esp vegetables, good protein sources, fat (I choose ghee and butter mostly), fresh and dried herbs.  Reflexogists can't do everything - it just brings back into balance for a while.  Yoga is great for the internal glands, one can do yoga easily at home - certain poses are good for pancreas.

if I remember, it is bow pose, standing straight leg pose, and perhaps the sitting spinal twist - do a 'net search and many yoga sites should come up for you. Walking is good general exercise.  Most libraries have books on yoga, but some nutrition experts say yoga is too yin/weaking for today's society as many people are in poor health, so walking is good and more yang for entire body and mind.
