I really am struggling with my diet, I feel so limited, been Celiac and Salicylate sensitive.  I am having bad reactions to so many of my swami allowed foods

Anyone have any advise ?

I am just at a loss of what I can eat.   Most of my allowed foods are high in Salicylate and I have noticed they upsetting my stomach more and more.  Majority of my super foods are high Salicylate foods.

I do believe my gut needs to heal and I can probably eat more foods again although I dont what to eat while I am healing   

Seeing a recommended Naturopath next week and cant wait for some advice.

initially my daughter, now just turned 7 was sensitive to everything. after a few years on the blood type diet and swami, she can pretty well eat anything, even avoids without much reaction.

eat what ever doesn't react. and slowly, slowly build on that. keep a food dairy, we kept one for DD for years, they are so very effective and will help no end.

if you avoid the biggie's like wheat, dairy, sugar you will find it so much easier. don'y eat too much of anything. and don't drink much juice, keep the potions very small) see how yo get on with nuts , seeds, walnut milk, rice milk, etc.

do you take polyflora, live cell and proberry?

My first step is to eat as close to 100% beneficial foods as I can.

Second step is to keep portion sizes / frequency in mind and come close, but if I feel like I need more of some beneficial food, go ahead and include more.

Third, keep record of foods / negative reaction.  If I can find a food / reaction correlation, I may replace part of that food with another beneficial to reduce the reaction, but still get good intake.

Fourth, I look back through history to see what reactions/illness symptoms, etc. I have had in the past to see if this may be part of a healing crisis from something old.  If so, I assume that the symptoms may be good and continue for a week or so to see of the "crisis" resolves or whether I need to find a better answer...

I hope this helps some...

Thanks all I am going to start a strict food diary today.  Unfortunately most of my beneficials are high salicylate, all fruit is out, brocoli, cauli, carrots,  All grains are out for me as well as all nuts, even honey is out . I react bad to all mentioned.  Its going to be hard.

I will look into some fermented foods and I do take prebiotics and probiotics.  Its very hard combining my blood type diet with a low salicylate diet.  Hopefully a food diary can really helpt find out if its all salicylate foods or just the high salicylate foods.  I get to the stage where I actually am too scared to eat

I was about your age when I discovered fasting. I was also getting to the point when I thought I was allergic to many foods. Fasting rests the body & after a while you will be able to eat more things. I usually fast one day at a time.  The first time is the worst time.  But keep working at it.

Start by making a list of all the foods you CAN eat. Since you need to  cut out foods beyond the SWAMI avoids, I wouldn't even worry about limiting neutrals right now. Try to include as many beneficials and diamonds as possible, but there's no reason to restrict neutrals right now.

If that list is still too restrictive, you may want to look at foods from the BTD or GTD lists as well as the ones in SWAMI. You might do OK with some "Type A beneficials" or "Teacher Beneficials" even if SWAMI says otherwise. That wouldn't be ideal, but if you're too sick to strictly follow SWAMI right now, this might be a safe way to expand your diet.

What you DO eat is as important as what you don't eat. Your body can't heal if you're not getting the proper nutrition.

Thank you so much.  Will look at teacher and A blood diet and see if I can add any foods.

I find when I have dont eat the hunger paind actually really hurt is that normal?  If i have upset stomach avoiding food is definitely the best thing.
