Grains = Uncooked Vegetables = Uncooked
If you are dealing with pre-cooked grains you have to go based on how much of an increase in size it tends towards. Most of the time the amount of water you add is a good example of the size increase. Like brown rice is 2x water, and ends up being roughly twice as much.
If you are trying to lose weight try 1/4 cup uncooked for a meal. Plus you don't need to eat that 3x a day as you see, it recommends I think 1 to 3 servings a day.
