My Lewis testing kit arrived today and I've tried my best to take the blood as per instructions but not expecting success. The instructions ask for 10-15 drops but I could only get 3-4 drops and that was after 2 attempts!! Is this normal? I spoke to the lab customer service team and they said it should be sufficient for just the secretor test so Ill just have to wait and see. |

drinking loads of water would have helped to make more VOLUME.. placing a hot towel at the puncture sight would bring blood to the area..
better luck next time..
I took my test at the doctor, but I was covered by insurance.. MY doc had to look it up.. it was news to him a few years back.. worth every effort.. |

I have had to use more than one lancet to get blood for some tests. I presume if I had more experience I would not have problems, but I have also had nurses need to repeat to get enough blood.
I have tried the heating trick it help, but not always sufficient for me. |

I suspect I may be non-secretor too - mainly as Id read something about the link between nonnies and candida, which I definitely connected with so we'll see in a week or so. |

Hi, Im in the UK so ordered through the website detailed above. I ordered the Lewis kit, which gives secretor status and is much cheaper than the saliva test (but apparently some people have to go on to have the saliva test to get their secret status) Although you can take the bloods at home you still have to send it off for analysis. |
