I am really getting antsy about getting our new SWAMI's! Is soy going to be back in my superfoods list?? Who knows? Maybe in five or six years we will know........ |

new swami?
I believe if you rerun your swami with cancer and other checked in your health history if present, will have a personalized rating for you, no? |

Well, the UPGRADED SWAMI that we have been hearing about for how long.....? I'm tired of rerunning it with no changes.... I don't have cancer. Why have people been encouraged to post foods they would like to know more about if there is never going to be any changes????? I feel sort of let-down, to be honest. |

Most of the changes that affect the generation of food lists (and food ratings) have been tested in SWAMI GenoType, prior to their incorporation in the new SWAMI Xpress 2 code. If I run a SWAMI with similar settings in the software that already incorporates the changes and the current SWAMI Xpress software. There are very few changes to the food lists. Of course if setting are different, the food lists can be vastly different.
Most of the new features do not affect food ratings: Enhaced meal planner interface Ability to Linked your Account with other family members…or two (Cross referencing your SWAMI diet with your family member’s profiles allows one to join diet reports for easier meal planning!) Fingerprint image display makes it easier to assign fingerprints. On-line purchasing. Nice additions but no food rating changes.
The following new features may change peoples food lists if they choose to use them (they do not have to) Setting of lifestyle preferences (Kosher, Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian, ...). More health conditions can be entered– joints, allergies, hormones, metabolism, etc. Nutrient filter allows you to select nutrients to be emphasized or de-emphasized in your diet – restrict gluten, enhance Omega-3 oils, no problem! I suggest that people do not overdo the new settings, because they override what the software would otherwise determine. I limit my use of these settings to treating specific health needs of a client. |

I do not expect the new release to contain many new foods. New foods can be added to the database at any time and do not require a new release of the software. A few foods in fact have been added, other foods have been corrected when values were incorrect in the database. Each food in the database has over 200 values associated with it which the software needs to rate foods. Someone has to determine all those values before a food can be entered in the database. I keep hoping that running down all those values will interest one Dr. D's students and we will suddenly get a lot more foods into the database. But it has not happened yet. Some of the values do not really exist anyplace, so one would have to have the foods and run a bunch of lab measurements. Dr. D. has noted this process is not simple for blood type, and a lot more has to be considered for SWAMI. The new software will primarily change interface not the underlying nutrient database. It would be nice if the nutrient database would suddenly contain a lot more foods, but we have had no indication that that is going to happen when the software is upgraded. |

Most of the threads related to adding foods to SWAMI were started by me.
Dr. D., Bob, NAP, or DNP never asked me to start these threads.
Nor have they ever given any indication that they plan to incorporate any of the foods listed.
I considered the threads to be more of a petition saying these are foods we would like to know about, rather than a promise from Dr. D. that he was going to incorporate the requests. |

C-sharp, Good information on what to expect, this is very helpful. I was going over health issues the other day on my swami, and I could easily tick 6 off but I remember reading somewhere if you tick too many it may not be effective. It would be good to have guidance on the swami questionnaire about this kind of thing. thanks, Lin |

I am wondering how my name got attached to this thread. We have been hearing about an upgrade, or whatever anyone wants to call it, for months and got emails getting permission, etc., etc., about such a thing, and I merely made a comment about it on another thread and people are on this thread acting like they never even heard of any such a thing. SWAMI2???? Where did that come from????? I don't remember ever hearing anything about a SWAMI TWO, let alone starting a thread about it! For my part, I haven't "wished" for anything from the "powers that be" that ever came to pass, so I definitely wouldn't have started this thread with this title. Why would I do that? I would consider it pointless. |

Another thing, after I posted that first comment on the other thread, I ran my SWAMI again and checked the entries. Well, guess what.... Tomatoes were the only thing changed on the entire list and it went from an AVOID to a SUPERFOOD. NO changes were made in my entries. And the bad part is that tomatoes are like poison to me. I love them, but they are anathema to my body. I won't attempt to figure this one out. I'm not above trying them again now and then to see if anything has changed. It hasn't in over twelve years, though..... |

The posts got moved because they dealt more with SWAMI Xpress rather than Soy and Breast Cancer (The topic of the original thread). The move was noted in the original thread. The origin of this thread is also noted in the revision history of the first post of this thread. SWAMI Xpress2 was used in the title because the 4yourtype.com, Dadamo Personalized Nutrition Newsletter, and dadamo.com use SWAMI XP2 and SWAMI Xpress2 to refer to the next release of SWAMI Xpress. Most of the official literature uses SWAMI XP2. The longer name was used in hopes that it would be more clear. |

I don't get to read these pages very often, and I haven't reprinted out my food lists for a couple of years because everything seems fine, but I do wonder how I will know if the version 2 as discussed many times here will jump out of my computer sometime and tell me that it has arrived? (Not anxious, just curious) |

When Swami Xpress2 arrives, I presume that it will be obvious when you go in the product. I think this logo changes from brown to blue and there is a reference to SWAMI XP2 instead of SWAMI Xpress: Current Logo: I think this is the new one: Within the product, I think the background will change from brown to blue. None of this official! New Logo is from the June newsletter. |

Do we have any idea when the expect the new xp2 version will happen? It has been over two years since it was first mentioned and last June or July Dr D posted it would be here one fine day. I was just curious if anyone knew a time frame when it would show up. |

I think it will show up whenever Dr. D. gets enough focus time at once that he can finish.
I think it is really close. So if everything else in Dr. D.'s life would go away for a week or so we would have it.
But in actuality, I have no more clue than anyone else about how close it is and when it will be finished. |

Thanks C Sharp, I just wanted to be sure that I hadn't missed it, and you have confirmed that for me. It's probably time i did another run through anyway, as it is possible that some of my health issues have changed slightly. Many thanks for being a conduit of information for us. Cheers, |
