I can't wipe the smile off my face In January I hope to come off my thyriod med. My doctor said most people never come off thryriod meds, but I was always at the high end of normal and I just went a little over into the high end- so fingers crossed I will be off all meds in January! I am sooooo happy to be off my diabetic meds One step closer to perfect health I am still walking on sunshine after yesterday's news |

VW, that is outstanding - congrats!!! I am not however surprised as you have obviously been compliant. I was able to get off Paxil, Lipitor, and Nexium over two and a half years ago. Yeah, this works... |

Golfzilla, How did you know it was ok to get off Lipitor? I really want my DH off of it, also! |

I'm awaiting the results of my tests as well, hoping (more like insisting) to get off of Zetia. Got off Tricor and Niaspan last time I visited my Physician. Can only imagine how my body will reward me for getting this stuff, too. |

How weird, I went in to update my profile since I no longer take meds for diabetes and my numbers had improved in other areas as well and my Warrior percent went up by one and my food lists changed - not just a little, but quite a bit - not the protiens - I don't eat meat - but the fruits, veggies, seasonings and grains chenaged quite a bit. Hopefully in January I will be unchecking thyriod problem too I wonder how that will change things? Anyone know any news about the updates? I would love to see how all this will change things |

All my numbers went back up after 6 months without Tricor, so I'm back on it. Zetia continues After all I've done for you, liver, this is how you respond I'm really disappointed about this. |

VW My husband and I were both Diabetic, measuring Blood sugar an he was taking several BS RX and Lesinipril and his A1C was usually between 6.2 + 6.4 and mine was 6.2, and this was just by looking for hidden sugars such as HFCS and such. I told him to get off Diabetes RX about 18 months ago, our last A1C was Me 5.5 His 5.6 So I know the exhilaration you feel. People I know don't want to believe me when I tell them we Licked Diabetes. |

That's wonderful news VeganWarrior. What did you used to eat and how long have you been compliant? Do you eat any fish or other animal products or completely vegan? Re thyroid, were you hyper rather than hypo? Sorry if you've told us before but I've missed that if so. edit to add - just been through some of your posts, a few changes have been going on - well done with finding better health |

I have been about 99% compliant based on what my lists said before I unchecked things - since things changed I have to change things up again to be compliant again. When things switch up - which they have for me several times - it is harder to be compliant because I just get confused as to which lists have changed. I am about 99% vegan - in situations that I have no control over - I do my best. It is just the same as trying to follow the genotype diet or blood type or swami - I do my best to be compliant. I don't stress over the things I can't control. I try to ask about ingredients before I order when I eat out- but sometimes you miss one or two. Sometimes I know I missed one by how I feel after I eat. Since going vegan, I feel healthier and have so much more engery. I know the vegan lifestyle isn't for everyone but I think warriors do best on it. I am looking forward to the updates so hopefully I can enter vegan and have the protien servings more accurately done - since all I eat is veggie protien. Did I mention I also have lost 80 pounds in the last two years? I still have a ways to go - but the progress has been great |

Congrats VeganWarrior!
I've never been diagnosed with diabetes, but I show many of the signs of it, especially when I go too long without food or (far less often) I eat too many carbs. So I've managed to avoid needing diabetes meds in the first place by following SWAMI! (And before that BTD and before that low-carb.) |
