My wife and I started the BTD a month ago. Just bought the "Change Your Genetic Destiny" book and went through the process of determining our genotype. She typed out Gatherer and I Nomad. However, when we took the test to determing whether the BTD or GTD was best, I was advised to stick with BTD and she with the GTD. To do a more complete and accurate assessment we ae considering Swamixpress. Will each of us have to order a separate kit or is there such a thing as a multi user license? Also, if I use Swamixpress will some of my food choices change or will I continue to follow the BDT quidelines? Finally, is the program web based or do work from a DVD? |

Yes, each person requires their own SWAMI so if you and your wife plan on doing this together, order 2 tests. You get a password which enables you to log into your SWAMI directly from your computer so you're able to save this information any place you like...on your own desktop, in a file of your choosing....Miine is merely bookmarked so I can go back, enter password and log in information and have the ability to make updates and changes.. No DVD...you can go back as many times as you choose and change your weight as it fluctuates, or how you'd like SWAMI to program information.... either let it program what it deems as "best" or whether you'd like to tell it to focus on methylation or histones or even as you learn new information (let's say you didn't know your secretor status until months after you began SWAMI or you find out new information about your heritage, etc) You can log back into your SWAMI account and change what can be changed...Then run program again. No limit... Some foods will change....others will be new.....Your diet might look somewhat like the GTD book but so individualized, no two people who are of your blood type would have the exact same food list. SWAMI will override your BTD. Remember your SWAMIx will be personalized just for you. Some questions in SWAMI will be entered and then locked...so measure carefully before entering data. But even locked information can be changed if you contact support.. Hope this helps. Good luck |

You will need one swami licence each. there is not currently a multi-user licence.
Swami is web based. so no dvd and no need to update yourself, it is all done automatically.
It's best to get a kit each but you can use one kit for both of you.
with swami the food lists are individual so they will change from the standard BTD (as such) however it is the ultimate choice for anyone either on BTD or GTD in my opinion. but better to check with others about that part.

Am I reading this wrong? You said "It's best to get a kit each but you can use one kit for both of you? How can anyone use one kit for two people? |

What "kit" means in this context, I believe, is the measuring kit that's used to determine the Genotype. If you already know blood type, it might be possible to use just one kit for most tests. Since the Genotype are already known, then no kits are needed.
However, two softwares will be needed. |
| My SWAMI diet is a blend of BTD and GTD Explorer, but I'm not totally compliant. Also I try to choose foods that have a Low Glycemic index. DW and DD are A+, probably also Explorer. |

Thanks for the info. So, the $69.95 is for the license only. The measuring kit is extra. Correct? Since we already know blood type and secretor status, would like to limit purchase to one kit. Will the finger print and tast test accomodate two people? |

You don't want to enter your gentoype into the SWAMI data field. You want to enter all your measurements that were used to calculate your genotype, plus whatever medical information called for, and let the computer program calculate genotype for you.
The end result will be an individualized food list that will not exactly match the BTD or the GTD lists in the books. But it does give you a "genotype label" which may or may not correspond to what you calculated with the genotype book. SWAMI is a blend of both systems, and takes all the guesswork out of "should I follow BTD or GTD?"
