Can/would anyone please comment on this condition.  I've had varying degrees of relief but then days when it becomes worse for these last 2 months of being on my SWAMI.  I'm avoiding my avoids and restricteds!

Just ordered Dr.'s book on arthritis but won't have it for another week.  HELP!

Does anyone who has had it gotten relief?   Permanent as long as offending foods avoided?  If not resolved does it destroy the joint so that it cannot heal?  I'm kind of scared.

My pain went completely away when I got sick with the flu in Feb. and fasted (consumed only weak tea/coffee and diluted grapefruit, cranberry and pineapple juices.  When better and began to eat again, pain returned.  Original pain began mid Nov. 2011.  This really has me stumped and I don't want to fast again since I lost about 15 lbs. and can't afford to lose again.

My SWAMI diet is a blend of BTD and GTD Explorer, but I'm not totally compliant.  Also I try to choose foods that have a Low Glycemic index.  DW and DD are A+, probably also Explorer.

In Dr. D's Complete Blood Type Encyclopedia, he lists these protocols as therapies for Autoimmune Disease:

All blood groups:
1.  Low lectin diet
2.  Deflect, 1 to 2 capsules with each meal

Blood Group A:
1.  Anti-Inflammation Protocol
2.  Detoxification Protocol

I wonder if some food or foods you added back after you were sick are causing you a problem. A very few of my SWAMI foods would make my joints hurt if I ate them very often. Or I wonder if you were taking some extra supplements during the time you were sick that your body is needing now....... I would think there is a clue there somewhere as to why your pain has returned....

Spring, definately is food, not supplements.  Yes, Lola, I have rerun SWAMI with joint problems checked.

I believe I'm getting relief (today is the first day in a longgggg time that my pain is definately receding!  This is after only one 24-hour period of following the Mediterranian (sp?) Diet (modified, of course to my SWAMI).  This diet is restricting my Grains to only ONE   serving a day.  But I'm to the point that I can't stand the thought of this parasite destroying my joints any longer.  Hope I can keep this up and learn to really enjoy eating this way.

The plan is to get rid of all the pain first, then begin to allow the banned but 'Beneficial' foods in my SWAMI, along with the frequencies recommended return to my diet.  But done so slowly and observing all the time to see if the pain starts to return.

IN ADDITION, I'm following Dr. Bruce West's writings on this illness, avoiding ALL high gluten foods, along with my SWAMI 'Beneficials' --PEANUTS, SOY, & CARROTS!  (Can you believe it?!  AND, after searching the internet, finding that additional surprise foods contain gluten such as instant coffee!  which I was consuming regularly.  WOW, what an education I'm getting!  I also have Dr. D'Adamo's book on arthritis on its way to me.

Oh, Dr. West also writes to avoid ALL TEAS.  Don't know if he means just teas with caffine or does he really mean all when he says "all".  ????  I'm going to avoid everything for now.

I am enjoying my carob bread so much. It can be made with buckwheat, rice flour, amaranth, millet and just about any other suitable flour out there. I use three for mine with ground flax seed. (A teaspoon of Trehalose makes it super nice!!) I pour it in a large cookie sheet, bake at 375 for 12 minutes, cool a bit and cut it into 12 large squares about the size of a slice of bread. I cut one of these in half for a delicious turkey burger. Melted cheese is wonderful on a slice too!! Makes a super snack!!

Trying to make bread into a loaf is for the birds - this is 'way too simple!! My bread machine is in the utility room out off the garage!! Who needs gluten and all that other stuff it takes to make a decent loaf of bread!?! I am so done with all that!!

Yea, Spring, your and my brains are thinking on the same track.  I'm anxious now, to try the Carob Bread.

I will also tell you how great the Flaxseed Bread recipe is!  All it is is flaxseed meal, a little sea salt, and 5 eggs.   Simple!  Quick!  Delicious toasted gently, then spread with your favorite 'all fruit' jam.

After searching the internet for a 'high gluten' food list, Spelt and Kamut were found, another two of my Beneficials!

Does Sorghum have high amounts, too?  Does anyone know?  Couldn't find it on any 'high' list.  I made something DELICIOUS (can't remember right now what it was) with sorghum a few weeks ago.  I'll probably avoid it for now.

Still making progress on this modified Mediteranian Diet.
