It's a typo in the Live Right book. It says "per week" when it should say "per day."
Besides, if there's ever a discrepancy you should follow SWAMI, since it's more personalized. For example, my SWAMI gives me 1 half cup serving per day. Meanwhile, my daughter's SWAMI gives her three servings of fruit, but her servings are a full cup. She gets six times as much fruit per day as I do, and we're both Os! However, I have blood sugar control issues and truly don't do well on too much fruit, while she thrives on lots of fruit.
My biggest challenge is to remember to keep enough fruit in the house for her, since she eats in a day what I eat in a week.

Swami says 3 servings per day for me. I struggle with this. I would prefer not to eat any at all...
I don't eat much fruit most of the year, just some berries here and there but once the weather warms up I start to really crave it. I bought some bananas and berries yesterday, already ate the berries and will probably buy some grapefruit etc. I think eating a lot of fruit in the warm season is OK.
I get 5 servings per day on my swami. I don't usually eat that much though. But I've said this a millions times, If I get less than 3, my digestions slows greatly.

WOW how did you answer your Swami.. I want to know so I can get the same.. 5 I die for the possibility.. Haha anything I can not have my mind wants.. the more I try to eat to drop weight, the more I crave it.. I NEED a SHRINK but not the food kind..
I only get 2 fruit.. and I think only 2 with diamonds, of which neither is sold here.. unless canned..
I wonder if eating more fruit would increase metabolism.. as in dropping weight..
When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfectionBeing 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships

Not if you have trouble with carbs &/or blood sugar levels Goldie imo... Unless you stick to low carb/low glycemic fruit like berries... Only way I can ever lose it & keep it off is to stay low carb & not compensate by eating too much protein... I lose my sweet tooth then & things like fresh salad with a good mayo become really tempting

OK, he's male and he's an AB rather than a female O. I bet if you made those two changes to SWAMI you'd get more fruit as well.

Meaning eating a salad with mayo is good .. ?
WHEN I am good, I am great.. meat veggies and 2 fruit.. (only) 5 neutrals all told..
When I cheat, I make up for things I should not have, like some carbs. I would say it is 5%. BUT even that is to much.
I am currently trying to eat a big salad with dressing, and meat and some blanched veggies.. anything more makes me hungry....
I just gained some few pounds--.. a battle royal.. yet.. just for a test..
I AM GOING to add on extra '50 pounds' to my Swami and see what it would advise.. ha ha

I just compared 160 pounds versus 200 and found only 2 very small changes.. SO this diet is written in near stone!! as long as I have to drop weight it is TRUE to it self!!

Well, I do cheat a little. I check the box that says more frequency/ larger portion. Because I need to gain weight. But, when I don't check that box, I still get 4 servings. I think it's a Nomad thing. And like I said, I don't ever eat 5 servings. Furthermore, much of mine is made up of less sugary fruit. Like grapefruit. I only have eaten Granny Smith apples for a long time, although I want to try some more sweeter ones soon. I eat berries. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries. Kiwi isn't all that sweet. Now pineapple is sweet, but it is so good for my digestion. I've tried grapes some, but they are way sweet, and last time I ate them my stomach didn't feel right. Although I need to eat them again. They are diamonds. I will eat dried fruit every day though. And that is sweet. I rotate between figs, prunes, and dates. I've found some dried apricots but have yet to try them. I haven't had an apricot in a long long time. And really, I don't remember if I ever have had one.
Anyways....... so, yeah, I eat some sugary fruit with the dried. But a lot of my fresh fruit is not so sweet. Some of it is, but it's not really what I crave. I crave more of the fiber and juices in it. It's just a bonus if it tastes good. I absolutely love grapefruit though. Even though they are sour.

Some of us are just not able to eat fruit until we get our blood sugar under control... Often the *only* way to control cravings is to eat more fat & *avoid* the high carb foods until our bodies adjust...
For me, being hungry is a good thing. And yeah, fruit will help kick that in gear. For a long time, I was not hungry at all. Hence weighing 114 pounds.

Yes ... Swami is my way to stay compliant.. (or admit cheating when I do) it gives me good guidelines and as of late actually some new foods!!!! like dairy?!?!
I am certain that per Swami, 2 fruit for me is ok, enough even, if I slice them thin and even better when I freeze them in slices... and I am doing relative ok with my blood sugar.
I am happy you can do 5 fruit.. you seem to need it and that in the end is what I admire here, we all have OUR own diet plan! Remarkable in its ability to be adjusted for each of us!
I would be really sick if it was not for these BTD postings and the learning.. my blood sugar would be out of sight and make me miserable.. the very idea of SAD would scare me to death..

We have different challenges. I'm only 5'2" tall (5'1" according to my doctor) and weigh about 165 right now. I should weigh about 133. I'm glad I don't weigh 190 anymore, but I've been plateauing around 170 for years now. I get down to 160, creep up to 168, down to 165, etc etc.

And obviously an O would have typically more stomach acid than an AB and don't need as much of those enzymes. I'm assuming that might be part of it. Yes, it's great that we can have a diet tailored to our needs. Because every other diet out there typically leaves out the differences in us all. And claims if you do THIS this way, it is the BEST way of doing it. Pfffffffft.

I get 3-4 servings of fruit per day on Swami, depending on whether I choose the weight gain option. I eat every one of them and could eat more. Time for a grapefruit!
