Hi all,
The Genotype book is telling me on page 296 that: - ring finger is longer than index on both hands - A + Nonnie = GT5 Warrior
SWAMI is telling me I'm a GT4 Explorer. (46%)
When I caluclated manually, the numbers are saying I'm pretty evenly split between both strength wise but Warrior was what the raw numbers said. What one should I follow? I guess SWAMI? |

SWAMI takes everything into account. GTD is a good approximation.
Go with the SWAMI.
The label is less important than the diet but it is good to know overall tendancy. |

I wonder what it would be like to switch genotypes, not to be a boring old Hunter. |

The "boring, old" is an attitude... If you have that attitude with the Hunter diet, you can just as easily have it with any other type of diet or lifestyle. |

Don't worry about the gentoype label in SWAMI. That's just a starting point; your actual SWAMI diet is a mixture of GTD and BTD and your specific dietary quirks. |

Thanks Lola. Looking at the two diets, I personally LIKE the Explorer better (chicken and mozzarella cheese are OK, thank god, cuz I live on them) but I guess there's still some play that I can do to tweak my own diet? All in all they're not that radically different from the A BTD I followed for a while. I'm also pregnant at the moment, and just ordered the Eat Right 4 Your Baby, so I'm a little more keen on accuracy I guess The big idea is to go with whole foods, live foods, and moderation. Avoid red meat and pork, dairy and wheat. I can live with that. |

I have come to recognize fellow explorers by there tell tale acne scars which show from the american diet we grew up on. I believe Phil Mickelson and yani tseng are explorers.Tommy lee jones,Randy Johnson, bill murray, Joe Madden, Kramer not only micheal richards but the character is that of an explorer (I recognize myself in that character way to closely). And interestingly they are all outside the box thinkers which is the ultimate sign of an explorer. |

I took the quick test on the BTD website and learned I was a Type O Gatherer. After reading the GTD book and taking all measurements, I also came up a Gatherer. To see the excess weight 'gathered' around my middle, the piles of books 'gathered' all over my house, the stacks of paper 'gathered' all over my office, it was a slam dunk for me to believe it. But then I was curious about SWAMI. I had been reading so many posts that swore by SWAMI that I decided to give it a try. Whoa! Now I became a 45% Explorer! So am I 55% Gatherer? If so, shouldn't I still be following the Gatherer food lists? So confusing and I know there are blogs and posts to read but I still had to ask the question. |

Now I became a 45% Explorer! So am I 55% Gatherer?
It does not mean you are 55% Gatherer. That means that the explorer profile in the book had a 45% match with the profile you entered into SWAMI. If there had been a better match than the Explorer profile for what you entered and the standared profiles given in the book you would have been assigned that heritage as a starting point. We do not know what the match was for Gatherer, but it was not 55% since that is greater than 45%. Anyway the percentage is essentially irrelevant. SWAMI used the explorer profile as a starting point but for the 55% of your profile that did not match the standard profile, it examined what your health needs and adjusted the diet to meet your specific needs. If you had a 100% match you could have used the Explorer diet in the book, but since you did not it customized the diet for your needs. |

I don't agree with this... I am an explorer (49%) and I never had acne (therefore no scars). In addition, my DH, who is significantly Hunter (55%) DOES have acne scars. In all honesty... think Hunters are more prone to it. Although any O could develop that if they had too much dairy. In my immediate circle... My DH's son is also a Hunter and has acne scarring. My step-sister - an O+ explorer - does not have acne scarring.... although did struggle with acne as a teen. Her mother, an O- explorer - does not have acne scarring either. Her father - an O+ Hunter - has severe acne scarring. My birth mother, an O+ nonnie explorer, does not have acne scarring. 2 of my adoptive brother's are O+ hunters and they both have acne scarring. I haven't included any of the O gatherer's that i know, but by and large they all have beautiful skin. My BFF - an EXTREME O+ Hunter (over 75%) - has some acne scarring, but it is pretty minor, but he never liked milk much and avoided it as a teen. Personally, i think Kramer (the character, and probably the actor in real life) is a Hunter. Aside from that long lean lanky body with next to no body fat.... Hunter's are known for their high, kinetic, unrelenting energy and excellent problem solving skills and they also possess the thinking outside the box mentality. Dexter - OTH - is an explorer. Without a doubt. |

Wait, I'm a little slow to the party, but I think I have just connected some dots. The SWAMI diet is customized in a way unlike the book food lists?? Of course it is! Duh! That's the whole point of an individual diet. got it now I don't know why I was stupidly thinking the book = SWAMI. This makes sense. |

good thinking and connecting Kate!! there is a baby book available as well, in case you didn t know that you could combine it with your swami report results...... since there s no specific box for pregnancy, unless you run a swami pro through a practitioner working the swami pro |
