A's are better off eating protein for breakfast. Seeing as Quinoa is a complete protein, is it okay to just eat Quinoa with may be fruit or veggies added for breakfast?

This is something you will have to answer for yourself. People can be so different in how much of what type food they need when to get through the day. As a type A, you may very well be able to get through the morning with a serving of quinoa as a cereal with some veggies and / or fruit. |

Kim, I eat oatmeal or buckwheat flakes with almond milk or buckwheat/rice/flax waffles for breakfast but always eat a spoonful of peanut butter or almond butter along with it for added protein. Other mornings I eat eggs or my ER4YT protein powder in a smoothie. We need some protein to start the day. I know some A's on this forum don't eat carbs at all for breakfast but I do well with a mix. |

I'm like you...I need a mix....I've tried a bowl of just cereal with fruit...(amaranth or quinoa) and felt sleepy within a short time. As are all so different in how we metabolize starch combined with sugar (fructose) And although quinoa is high in plant protein....it's higher in carbs than my body can handle, especially if there is no other protein for balance and especially if I add fruit which is fructose. I often make small muffins using a mix of quinoa and amaranth flour....and eat one with a protein shake. http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/cereal-grains-and-pasta/10352/2 |
