Hello

I am new to the Swami, it reported I am GT4 Explorer 39%, I would like to know:

1.- What is the other 61% composed of? because the Swami do not explain that.

2.- In my GT4 Explorer Swami Oat Oil is Neutral, whole oat powder and germ are Best Avoid, but my Swami do not say anything about Oat Bran. I am using Oat Bran as part of my strategy to lower the Cholesterol levels.

2.1.- Is it fine for a GT4 Explorer to have diner everyday, at least for 2 weeks, with cooked Oat Bran with almonds and nuts?

Thanks and regards
joejac

Hello Joejac,

Since whole oat and germ is to be avoided, I'd avoid the oat bran too..

About cholesterol, O's do not do well with grains. Grass fed animal protein and superfoods in live food category will help you a lot more..

How about exercising, even a 45 minutes brisk walk will improve your good cholesterol (HDL) levels and eventually decrease the bad one (LDL).

Cheers,
Yaman

The other 61% is the customization that SWAMI needs to do to taylor the diet to your body only matches 39% of the standard GenoType profile. No big concern. The software goes ahead and figures the adjustment needed to fit whatever needs you had that were not met by the standard profile.

Oat bran should appear in the carbohydrates section of your SWAMI diet report.  Regenerate the diet report if it is not there.  If oat bran is still not in your report, report it to NAP tech support as a bug.

You should look carefully it often has a different rating than Oatmeal, Oat Flour.

In my clients it is generally one postion higher (not always). That is if Oatmeal is neutral, Oat bran is Superfood. If Oatmeal is black dot, oat bran is neutral.  Again this is a generalization, it will not be true for everyone.

Nope, definitely not true for me- my SWAMI lists both oatmeal and oat bran as neutrals, even though I know from personal experince that I can't tolerate oats at all.

Oat Bran has it's own listing in my SWAMI under Carbohydrates. It may not be in the same column as Oatmeal and Oat Flour. For me the bran is under neutral, and meal and flour are black dots. So look carefully.

If your portions are anything like mine* you should be able to have nuts and bran (if it is not an avoid) everyday of the week.

*3x 1/2c serving grains daily and 6x 1/2c nuts weekly.

Hello and thanks a lot to all for your kind responses.

During this last week I was religiously eating daily 1/3 cup Oat Bran cooked with water and with 1/2 cup of soaked almonds and nuts only, as per this recipe, where Explorer is among the GenoTypes that can eat it.
http://www.genotypediet.com/gtd_recipe_viewer.pl?7145

My portion is 1/4 cup x 2 servings daily for Grains and Cereals, now I realize I am eating more, can this cause exhaustion?

Anyway I will report to NAP, there are other issues, I had to modify by hand all special characters for my shopping Spanish list since they are in plain HTML codes, that is no good. I will run my Swami again this time in English,

I also reduced Olive Oil to 1 spoon only per day not 9 like before, no red meat, before was 2 kilograms per week, no eggs, before was 12 per week, only blue fish like sardines and only 2 times a day in little amounts, about 120 grams with vegetables and millet, raw garlic and onion. And my Total Cholesterol lowered in 74 in a week, I do not know which could be the culprit since I am very thin, and I exercise these last months.

I added millet and today quinoa, and some fruit despite Candida, I take the Immune and Fungus protocols while I get the Cardio and Liver protocols form UK.

Best regards
joejac

I cut and pasted the Spanish shopping lists into Word and then replaced the the codes that were not interpreted.  It worked but not convenient.

I quote from my other post:

Hello,

To update this,

1.- I ran my Swami in Enghlish and I found Oat Bran as a "Best Avoid" so I made a big mistake eating the Oat Bran, assuming that if it is not in the Swami list it could be eaten

2.- Please be aware that I am comparing both vernaculars in my Swami.

3.- A good news: I lowered my total cholesterol other 21 mg/100ml this last week, from 270 to 249. So in a matter of 2 weeks I went from 344 to 249. This second week I was not using the Oat Bran. No drugs of any kind

It is the first time in my life I was prickled 2 times and no blood from my fingers, to the third attemp the pharmacist had to strain to get about 5 drops of blood.

Best regards
joejac

Thanks to all

I think oat bran got translated on the SWAMI list as:

Germen de Avena

instead of

Salvado de Avena

Sorry for any confusion.

My Spanish is limited, I am sure Lola can clarify.

wheat bran is germen de trigo

oat bran is germen de avena.....or fibra de avena
like in the book
but salvado de avena, not down here!
the names of all foods translated, have to coincide with the GTD book
translation, or people would get confused.

in this part of the world at least!!! lol

perhaps the problem Joe is having is the HTML.....
have you ran your Spanish swamies in pdf form?
think those do not get the strange hieroglyphics......just a thought...

Who told you to cut out red meat and eggs,  and cut back on fish? Type Os need a lot of protein and not so many grains.

Lots of veggies are definitely good for you. Raw garlic is definitely good for you. Exercise is definitely good for you.  But cutting out red meat and eggs, and increasing the grains, may do more harm than good. Are you also eating poultry?
