So after my visit to Dr.D's clinic I find out I'm not a teacher!   I'd also like to say for anyone thinking about going, it is worth it! It was very informative. The staff is amazing. I spent something close to 2 hours with the doctor 1 on 1 without interruption. I never once felt rushed or dismissed like I do at my PCP. I've never been to an ND before so I can't really compare apples to apples. But, I was definately impressed.

After being measured by the doctor she found out I was an explorer. Oddly enough the foods that are now on my list are alot more appealing   I also got some supplements while I was there and was wondering if any of you have a preferred way or preffered times for taking them. Here is the list:

Gastro D- 1 cap 2x daily
Catalyst/Explorer- 1 cap 2x daily w/ meals
Cortigard- 1 cap 2x daily
Creatine- 1 scoop daily
Methyl B12- 1 cap 2x daily
Polyflora A- 2caps 2x daily

I've seen some mention of taking Polyflora early in the morning and late at night on an empty stomach. I was curious as to why, and if the other supps would benefit from taking them a certain way. Thanks!

If you take probiotics with food, it kind of gets mixed up with the food.  If you take it on an empty stomach, it's start to go to work on the bad bacteria and not get bogged down with any food in the way.  It's probably not all completely true, but I think it's the best way I know how  to explain it.

I'm going to give SWAMI Xpress a real go.  If it doesn't really change things around for me, I'm considering contacting the clinic.

I'm a thousand miles from CT but planes fly.  And my mother said she'd come along to help me.

Thanks for sharing, kiramon!

Would anyone be willing to say how much a clinic visit costs? I'd be interested to go, but money is tight.

check out the shift and make an appointment asap!

'Personalized Medicine' clinic shift at the UB Health Sciences Center (teaching clinic of the naturopathic college). I've got six very motivated student interns to supervise. If you've wanted ...to become a patient of the D'Adamo Clinic but found the fees prohibitive, this may be an alternative. Exam, labs and complete dietary workup are priced at something like $115.

The UB shift is great for some people who are looking to economize, just as long as you understand that the UB shift is really not set up to provide the same level of follow up that the clinic in Wilton normally does.

comes to a bit more about $140. then you will want the supplements, but you don't have to get them right then if you don't want.

Hi! Just out of curiosity, how did you decide you were a Teacher? Did you just go by the book or did you do the SWAMI Express program?  Would be interesting to see if the SWAMI program pegged you as a Teacher or Explorer...

I bought the GTD book and followed the instructions to the best of my abilities. The clinic can run tests and do things most people can't at home. Not to mention they have alot more experience at doing all the measurements. So the borderline measurements went towards the correct profile. My new diet has made an incredible difference. For me, there is also some peace of mind having direction from a professional source.

I know.  I did the same thing you did. Bought the book , then went to the clinic. I saw Dr. D.  I waited 4 months to see him. There'd be no question in my mind after going to see the man behind the research.

It depends on whether you go to the shift at the University of Bridgeport or Dr. D's Clinic in Wilton.

I went to a local ND last Thursday. Very informative, and I'm hoping the measurements were more acurate than mine would have been. I should receive my Swami Xpress today and she is going to run one for me on her professional version to see if and what differences there are if any. That will be very interesting!

I am interested in a continuing relationship with her to gain perspective from her professional point of view for me personally as I have a few challenges to conquer. I do wish she was closer as her office is a good hour away. Consequently travel time plus the office visit takes me out of my office for a good 31/2 hours

But, it's all good!

If you keep doing what you've always done, and you keep getting what you've aways got, perhaps it's time for a change...

I didn't know the shift even existed, so I was asking about the clinic in Wilton.
