Finally, able to re-run my Swami and print it out with new nonnie status and decided to add the fact that I tend toward low-grade infections and other health issues--even though I am not currently having a problem...figured this was worth a new thread...

Had expected avocados to move from Avoid to Neutral and they have actually moved into my Superfoods category! Wow--I couldn't be more excited...I just KNEW I loved those things and always thought they made me feel pretty darn good!  That and cod-liver oil...both great mood enhancers for me...YES!

My Swami does know more about me!  Frankly, those two foods showing up in "avoid" categories in the books, made me question the diet a bit.  I would have complied and tested the results for myself, but...I was not happy about those two foods being avoids for moi!

Those two foods being in my Superfoods category realy confirm what I've "felt" in my own gut for years and make me more of a believer in Swami than ever.  Wow!  Somebody pinch me--am I dreaming?

Not walking to the store, I am running to get my avocado fix--I've missed you my little green sweets!

Golfzilla, saw your note about the soymilk--it's never agreed with me, either.  I tried it for years, thinking I was doing something good for myself and finally gave it up a few years ago...but now the diet really confirms it.  Good for some, bad for others.  No wonder there's so much conflicting information about soy!

Swami rocks!

I love avocados too but a few years ago they started ripping through my stomach. I'll never forget the first time it happened, I took a walk after eating an avocado salad and oh the pain!! This intolerance came out of nowhere.

Sure enough, my SWAMI has it as an avoid, so have one for me! Oh, the creaminess!! And the therapeutic delight of peeling that thick skin away from the soft, fragrant flesh!

could have been the excess fat content of the avocado and your liver working a double shift!

so sad for you!  Maybe someday, your body will get  to a place where you can have a bit on rare occasion and it won't mess with you too much.  I'll bet there are other foods you love, that you can eat...but I will have one for you, while I say a prayer of gratitude that they are healing food for me.   There are plenty of other foods that I do miss...so I am trying to focus on the bliss of eating the healing foods that I love.

It's great to have affirmation of what you have known, Robydoo.

You have obviously been listening to what your body tells you.  Your drive to work yourself to better health is infectious!  With Swami, it seems that you are missing nothing!

My weight loss goal: 220 lbs.  A 6'4" dyslexic oddball: the size of a line-backer, the silhouette of Winnie-the-Pooh.
