C_Sharp has updated relevant summary tables with our latest research on food choices for everyone.  Thanks C_Sharp

Check it out:

I think the table with lines looks better, we may convert all the others to look the same?  What do you think?

I would agree. The lines help guide the eyes on the page and give the page a generally more organized look.

So far Nepal, UK, Australia and New Zealand have entries in these summary tables.

We have now included the first line of the 'Country/Comments' column to be indicative of the local country or language.  When same language countries use the same vernacular, we will identify the language for that food item, otherwise if the vernacular varies between those same language countries, we create new rows to represent them.

If you can think of any local food items that are equivalent to the Typebase listed items, or have any queries about food items listed or not listed, place your queries under 'Research on Food choices for All'.

Only moderators and Admins can post to the Summary thread.  The updated, new look table below, once copied to the Summary thread (usually by C_Sharp, but any mod, admin can), will be cut off here and only these explanations and the link to the summary will remain in this post.  So, you can check the table below until it is removed from here, after that you will find it in this summary thread:

With this one, all the tables are now converted to the new look.  This is the list of local edible food that we enjoy, but we do not have equivalents in Typebase.  They are to be tested and eventually added to future Typebase releases.  In the meantime, some of us may prefer to enjoy these with caution, as Neutral type of food items.  As usual comments are welcomed under the Research thread:

http://www.dadamo.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-xpress/m-1253837147/s-75/

This table will be moved from here by moderators.  To find it in the future link to:

http://www.dadamo.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-xpress/m-1255756515/

Equivalent Fish and Seafood choices update.

This update is up to Reply 423 in the Research of Food choices for All.

These are the fish and seafood species listed in Typebase database (and the descriptors therein) as well as listed in GTD and or Swamis food lists.  This tabled summary only includes the species we have discussed so far.

For some of these species, we have found local equivalents, and listed those accordingly.  We left blank the ones we could not find equivalents for.  Relevant country location is listed, so if your country is not listed, but you want to assist btders compatriots by providing us with your local equivalent nomenclature, join us on the research thread.

The reply numbers refer to the Replies as posted in the Research of Food Choices for All thread.

Special thanks to our hard workers Symbi contributing endless hours or research and C_Sharp keeping a watchful eye on our work, assisting us with the accuracy of the information collected, and of course Lola, always springing into action the moment we raise our hands. We are having a ball doing this and you are all welcomed to join us.  Thanks too, to everyone who uses this information and / or provide feedback to us in one way or another. It is keeping us on track.

As usual, the table below will be deleted once it is posted in the Summary of Food Choices for All thread. -table moved-

This latest update include research on Porgy species and Snappers.

Update to the Non Equivalent Foodchoices table.

This is the table where we list all the research done on local food items which have not been rated and are not included in any of the official food lists.

These updates covered the Ocean Bream or Tarakihi plus the Breams in the Fish and Seafood section,  and the Custard Apple in the fruit section.  There is a pointer to the post in the Research thread where we tabulated the nutritional comparison of the Custard Apple and all other species in the family: cherimoya, guanabana, soursop, sweetsop and others as well as US paw paw and Papaya.

All research done so far up to Reply 419 is included in these table.  Thanks team.
