I had them change my status to lactose intolerant and I have everything filled out the way I think I should and lo and behold, they got me as a teacher.  The Lactose intolerant field and putting in my head measurements did it.  I have a teacher head through and through.  

Anyways, it still gave me a bunch of cheeses saying they were low in lactose.  I still don't know if I can eat these.  I'm going to try parmesan on a salad today, which is only a little and I haven't had a problem with it in the past.  But when I try and do more than like an ounce or 2, it seems to mess with me.  And I tried goat Brie last night and it didn't sit so well.  Hmmmm...

Anyways, here's the list it still gave me as superfoods.  Must be for the butyric acid, eh?

Superfoods:
cheddar, colby, cottage, edam, swiss, feta, gorgonzola, gouda, gruyere, jarlsberg, machego, monterey jack, muenster, parmesan, provolone, romano and stilton.  

Most of them are diamonds too.  and I have cream, farmer, kefir, mozzarella, pecorino, and ricotta as neutral.

These are low in lactose?  

Another interesting thing is there is no ginger listed on live foods.  It's listed on the spice list and puts specifically (spice) by it, but it's gone from the live food list.  Which used to be right by garlic I believe.  Well, I know that's good for me, but thought it was interesting.

ABNoWay...a teacher.  Congrats.  

Be careful with introducing things...remember to give your body time to adjust.  Brie last night may not sit well, but maybe down the road it will.

Funny thing is it wasn't that long ago that it sat well with me.  But then it was like all of a sudden......

Anyways, I haven't been eating much dairy at all.  Like barely any.  And it seems like the little I do doesn't do well right now.  

My main question was why these cheeses are still recommended, even though I marked lactose intolerant.

I believe it s the butyric acid and other goodies content that is being computed for your individual needs and issues.....
you can try introducing only the SB ones gradually and observe.

In my particular case, cheese and dairy in any form are placed in the farthest right corner!!!

I too marked lactose intolerant but my bigger issue is casein intolerance...I know dairy has casein...and now my fibromyalgia is acting up...knees elbows, shoulders.  I can't figure out why I was given any dairy because although I'm not getting a stuffy head from
dairy any more, I'm pretty sure it's not my friend.  My gut doesn't react negatively to
dairy, but my muscles certainly do.

I started eliminating the cheeses again just to see if this is the problem.

And then I'm wondering why a Teacher doesn't tolerate dairy. I got a whole family full
of dairy intolerant people, regardless of their genotypes.

Isn't it still possible to be intolerant of some foods even though they're good for your
genotype?

Well there is almost no lactose in that kind of cheese... that is why.
Lactose is lower in yoghurt as well and in cream compared to low fat milk.

Thank you, that is the answer I was looking for.  I'll have to see if it's actually the lactose or what that is bothering me.  I did eat some of my daughters broccoli cheddar soup today at Panera and it didn't seem to mess with me like some of the other things I have tried lately.  It seems like it might be more in the morning that it messes with me.  Although I had that brie at lunch yesterday and it seemed like it just didn't sit right.  So.....

We all have sensitivities that aren't going to be explained to us by a book or computer program.  These you have to find out for yourself.  Onions have been good for me according to every diet I've followed from the BTD to GTD.  But the problem is, I have an allergy to them per a blood test and it definitely makes me get heart arrhythmia's more.  Since I have cut them out, I don't get them.  And I've done that test 2 times now to make sure.  Starting eating them, heart arrhythmia's showed up again.

I know other people that really get messed up by onions too.  Then I have a friend that thinks garlic is the devil, and I could it eat all day long.  But if he eats it, he gets really bad stomach aches and it will just wipe him out.  

I am definitely sensitive to something in some dairy now.  I didn't used to be.  But the overall question was why these would still be recommended and Henrietta answered that.  Assuming that she is correct.  Hehehehehe.  And yeah, I know they have butyric acid in them.  I've been taking intrinsa to make up for my lack of dairy.  This also helps a great deal!!!

It probably has all kinds of stuff I shouldn't have.  I don't know, but it didn't seem to hurt my stomach like the brie did the other day.  Interesting, eh?  But maybe that's because there's barely any cheddar in it????  I have no clue.  All I know is that my stomach felt not right after eating cheese the last couple times when I make the meals.  And it wasn't a whole lot.  Oh yeah, I did eat my salad at Panera with the Parmesan on it.  But it's like a 1/2 oz. or something.  I might have to buy some parmesan and see if it doesn't mess with me at a home cooked meal.  Because it didn't there.  I might get some mozzarella too because that's one of those types of cheeses that seems mild on people.  My wife can't eat much dairy anymore either but she'll get away with having a piece of pizza or two here and there.  But cow's yogurt makes her feel awful.  Or cow's milk too.  She does fine on goat stuff though.
