I am sure there are some good home made pasta recipes somewhere here, but I cannot find them.  Using the main search bar brings some pointers to archives of Edna and home-made pasta, but when clicking on them I get a blank page.  Have they been deleted? or is it my connection not being able to pick them up.

Anyhow, if you know of any good links for home-made pasta, or want to share your home recipes, let me know.

nope, need to buy one, have to use the old rolling pin for the time being. I think I should be able to pick one up at the markets on Saturday, fingers cross.

Hi Gemminisue, thanks, I have DGD here today and she loves cooking.  Also, after a few months of dry weather it has been raining for the last couple of days and today is very cloudy here, right type of weather for a homemade pasta lunch.

Ho well, sun is shining again, so those clouds this morning run out to sea I think.

Jenny, yes, it is nice to see the rain for a change.

Possum, I fixed the link now.  BTW, I had already checked the recipe link you posted, but I cannot see the pasta recipe, no pasta dishes, the pasta itself recipe.

My pasta making went OK.  DGD is eating it, so it must be a good sign, 3 year olds let you know when they do not like something.
I ended up using a variaty of grains.  I have organic whole wheat kernels, I bought some time ago on bulk. Need to use it. I also have a bit of whole spelt grains, so mixed them both  in my flour mill (stone) to get an enriched flour.  I added another cup of combined rice, almond and soy flour, a bit of celtic salt and 4 free range eggs from my own chooks (hens). Knead it all together, let it rest for a while while I prepared the filling.

For the filling I collected Kelp, Swiss Chards, spinach and silver beat leaves from my garden, added garlic, leeks, nutmeg, salt, basil, sage and pecorino cheese. Gave this a whisk in the food processor with the 'S' blade and presto.

Rolled out the dough, cut out squares, circles, funny shapes, depending on how much of the rolled dough I had left and filled them up with the filling.  Some ended up like spinach pies, so I cooked half in the oven and half boiled.  The oven ones were good as a finger snack, the boiled ones I served them on a plate with a bit of ghee and grated parmesan cheese on top.  DGD had both types and kept on coming for more.

For my own taste, I think next time I will add one egg to the filling as well as some grated parmesan cheese for more tanginess.

It took us about 2 hours to prepare, but that was including trips to the garden, rinsing vegies, showing DGD how to rolled dough or mix things together.  Very enjoyable morning.  We are so full though ...

Sounds like a really fun morning!! Well done!! Impressed with the flour grinding... So good to be able to show your GD how to make lunch without going to the shops
