Oh yes...
But I've been wondering something ever since I took those tests--
Where you are supposed to choose an item from either side that fits you best, it doesn't seem to give me the ability to show a tie between the two proffered lists.
For example, on one of the lists I chose 5 items from column A, and five items from column B.
Perhaps there is built-in duplication, as is common with other personality tests, to weed out conflicts and ties?

I took the long test again. Last time I took it I went through very quickly and answered sort of off-the-cuff.
This time I came out "INTJ" instead of "ENTJ", which I think fits me more closely. |

MBTI is a forced answer sorter. In other words there is no allowance for a tie. It forces you to choose one or the other for statistical purposes. |

I waffle between the "E" and the "I" too, just depending upon my mood or the day. I can be very extroverted sometimes, but introverted others. I'd guess more introverted though than extroverted. |

Guys, a more detailed test is here (see link below). It, too, forces you to choose "yes" or "no" and sometimes you feel that the answer is a tie, but the way it is more detailed is that it asks you many questions that are designed to determine the same thing, so by the end of the test, it has a pretty good idea if you are, for example, introverted or extroverted. Dr. D. says his on-line test is a "quick and dirty" way to figure out your Jungian type...if you are talking about the one he used to have on this site somewhere, that is (he might have a more detailed one in SWAMI, I don't know). It makes you choose between column A and column B and sometimes you do feel there is a tie. It is better, imho, to take one of the more detailed tests like I'm linking below, that don't make you make one choice between two columns to determine one of the four factors (like introverted or extraverted, for an example of what one of your four factors could be). I ALWAYS come out the same on the more detailed tests and also I came out the same on the actual Keirsey Myers-Briggs Type Sorter II or whatever it is called. Dr. D.'s test is the only one I ever really came out off the reservation on . I am an INFJ but came out as an ENTJ (the "rational field marshall") on Dr. D.'s. Dudes: you don't want me as the field marshall for any of your covert ops, or overt ops, just put it that way! I'm better as the poet back at base camp. http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp |

Pepper, like you I always come out ENFJ on the long MBTI tests and just came out as ESFJ on the down and dirty version. It's worth noting though that over time type can change, at least this was my experience when working as a psych.

Thanks for the link PT. I took the quiz twice and came out as an ISTJ both times. I retook the "short and dirty" Dr.D quiz a few days ago and it said the same thing. So, looks like I'm probably an ISTJ instead ISFJ. |

I took your test PT. I did like it better than the fast and dirty either/or version. I do think that how I am feeling at the moment colors my answers, especially the questions having to do with other people.
INFJ Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging % 11 62 25 44
I've come out as 3 different types - ENFJ, INTJ, and now INFJ. Not sure which one to trust.
ENTJ made me 43% Warrior
INTJ made me 41% Warrior
and
INFJ makes me 39% Warrior
Would you think that the highest Warrior percentage is the most correct? |
