I have just completed the SwamiExpress profile and I have morphed from a Gatherer to an Explorer!
I'm rather shocked by this in one way as I quite clearly came out as a gatherer according to the Advanced GenoType Calculator table 1 in the book.
But I find it really interesting that I never got on too well with the Gatherer diet. I used to do BTD with great success (except that I wasn't losing any weight) so thought the Gatherer diet would help, but something didn't feel quite "right" about it, and I only tried it a bit half-heartedly and dare I say, against my intuition.
In the meantime, my health has been slowly declining - not in an obvious sort of way, but more generalised and vague. My energy levels seem to keep dropping, I've put on some more weight and have frequent headaches and have developed a red rash on my face. I had started wondering if my liver was getting a little sluggish and was contemplating doing a gall bladder and liver flush.
Anyway, I have done the Swami profile and come out as an Explorer and it makes so much sense! It seems that Explorers often have problems with their livers and one of the detox recommendations for Explorers is to do a monthly liver and gallbladder detox, like what I was thinking I might need, before learning that I was an Explorer!
I need to closely examine the food lists now and although I lose my beloved black tea (I've already given up coffee) and rice milk (rice milk becomes a black dot avoid) I gain some nice things back, like banana, figs, honey, broccoli, carrots, sweet potato and turnip. So, I'm very happy and energised enough to start eating properly again
What's most interesting to me is that my intuition was right... Perhaps I could do well to listen to it more...

From a another newly-minted explorer, greetings! I guess we will both be exploring this new way of eating! The rice milk was a bummer for me, but I was happy to gain APPLES! and LENTILS! Looking forward to the adventure!

Yes - apples! And lentils! I can make dhal!!! Curry powder and onions are both diamond superfoods, so I'm sure I'll be able to make a good fatbusting dahl with these as a base.
When I looked at the Explorer diet in the book I didn't much like it, but I'm really excited by the new food lists.
I can have lots of different sorts of rice - including rice cakes - which is exciting too.
I'm relieved also to be on less meat. 3x p.w. red meat, 3x p.w poultry and 4x p.w. fish.

Just write Gatherer instead of explorer and that is me
Have fun figuring out what to eat and how much and when

Rochelle,
I feel the same - I am so happy to have the "burden" of eating meat protein at every meal lifted. My allowance is 3 red meat, 2 poultry and 5 fish - per week and the portion size went down to 3-5 oz which I am also happy with, from 5-7 oz.
I can concentrate on other protein sources a bit more as I also get 5 veg protein per week and 6 eggs per week. Egg went down to neutral for me though - from being diamonds , that was a shocker.
I also got back apples and lentils. I have never made dahl, but it sounds yummy!
You just might! I now have yolks as a super and whites are neutral. Makes baking so much easier!
I'm still super excited about my new food lists The only probem with SWAMI that I can see is that it will make it really hard to share recipes. I've come up with some great things but they probably won't work for other Explorers like they would have with the generic food lists.

Exactly Lola! I am enjoying the new lists. I guess Swami really is even better than the GTD book alone. Broader food lists! And they still ring true to my earlier blood type diet lists....I am loving it!

I think Dr. D. has already done the work for us to enable recipe sharing.
You can contribute recipe in the cookbook creator portion of SWAMI. The data entry fields looks similar to those use in BTD recipe database.
The recipes already in cookbook creator appear to me to be the same ones in the BTD recipes collection.
I hoped he was using the same recipe database for both products, but he may be moving the recipes back and forth.
Anyway it looks to me like you can contribute recipes and SWAMI will share it with the people who can eat it.

I lost lentils to avoid, so each of us is different. I changed many foods one notch over (dot to neutral; diamond to superfood)which has been helpful, but we are still individuals! I measure as a gatherer, almost borderline, but am more explorer as I thought. But apparently the diet is still very individualized if some of you gained lentils. I can't seem to handle many beans which is tough for variety & economy. I still am baffled by green beans becomning an avoid. I'm sure I'm of a nationality where they grow & they didn't bother me like other foods did. But I'll try to stay off them. I still would love to know more about fingerprints and toeprints. I bet in future generations, toeprints may figure in certain things. My B relative, who thinks he was a nomad by measurements some time ago, looked at his prints & said he had 6 whorls & 4 loops. I checked that nomads usually have 8 loops. This should be interesting. BTW, I can see my prints in the bright sunshine, so if you don't have an ink system, go outside & see!

Wow, I wish I could see my fingerprints in sunlight, Mrs T O+!
My fingertips are dreadful - the patterns are barely visible, even as fingerprints, and the prints are covered in white lines. I don't seem to have too much digestive trouble, but I do wonder whether it's a ticking time bomb and if I don't do something sharpish to restore gut integrity, I'll be in for an unpleasant time sometime in the future.
Hopefully my individualised Explorer diet will be the way to go. Though I notice that I have spelt in my superfood list, which seems odd. I won't be indulging, though!

well in the book I was Nomad
BUT when I looked at my finger prints I had : 7 whorls and 3 loops = Gatherer or more correct one of the things that seemed to have put me in the gatherer family.

Welcome new explorers! I've been really impressed with my SWAMI results and how they agree with what works for me. I'm thinking of myself as an O-non with some added explorer superfoods, that basically describes me and my diet quite well.
I too had begun doing explorer cleanses before switching from gatherer to explorer.
