Does anyone know if checking the cancer box on the SWAMI, even though there is no history of cancer would help prevent it if a person has a condition that makes it more likely they would develop it?

In your case I would say yes. Looks like it is a precancerous condition that could be cancer at anytime.

I would wonder about Barretts as well..

Try it and see what difference it makes.  It isn't locked, so you can change it back any time.  It will show you what changes you might make, if any, to your diet.

Plucky is that  similar to a knot in your throat..so I can relate to psychosomatic issues .... which aren't that nice sometimes; but if you are refering to tissue growth...so it can relate to to a certain overgrowth of glandular tissue or polyps onto the vocal cords ...

Another approach to customize your swami output to treat cancer would be to choose a setting for "Geno Harmonic Food Clusters" that would help with cancer prevention or treatment.

Perhaps "Enhance Global Methylation"
Logic:
Quoted Text
Loss of methyl groups over our lifespans is a precondition for a cell's ability to turn cancerous, So these Geno-Harmonic food combinations will also have anti-cancer effects in your body...

Problem is most of the Geno Harmonic settings sound good. Here are some others that would help with cancer issues:

"Enhance Histone Function"
"Broad Genotropic"

You can run SWAMI with each of these settings and read Dr. D's description of what they do and look at the Geno-Harmonic combinations they produce.

Esophageal webbing is where a mucosal membrane grows across the esophagus.  I have an appointment with a GI specialist to have it checked out, but my D.O. suspects that I have this problem.  None of the descriptions of swallowing problems really fit exactly, but the webbing fits with the untreated anemia I've had for years.  There's definitely a problem, we just don't know exactly what it is yet, and all of them increase the chances of developing esophageal cancer, which isn't very treatable, so I'd like to prevent that as best I can.

The problem isn't like a knot in the throat, it's more like a charley horse in the chest (right between my breasts), like my esophagus is having a major spasm.  It only happens when I eat dry, mealy types of things, like fish, rice, and baked potatoes.  While I shouldn't be eating baked potatoes anyway, rice is basically the only grain I can have and fish is pretty important.  I rarely have heartburn, so I don't think it's anything related to GERD.  When it happens nothing will go down, not even water, and I produce a ton of spit, which won't go down, so I have to keep spitting in the sink.  I usually can get it to pass by just sitting quietly for a few minutes and making myself relax, but sometimes it goes on for awhile and just won't stop so I have to induce vomiting to get it to finally relax.  It's a real pain!

Thanks, C_sharp.  That was very helpful.  It spit out a list of geno-harmonic foods that I would likely combine, and some that I already do, unlike the default one that was spit out before.

I have Epstein-Barre, and I am extra worried about the cancer thing because I lived in S. China Guangdong Province, which has an unusually high incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer.

One of my friends who had Epstein-Barre just died during her 2nd battle with lymphoma a few days ago.

Two other friends with Epstein-Barre have battled 2 types of cancer - nasopharyngeal, and lymphoma.

So when I get my SWAMI, I guess I'm going to check that off as well.

Sedulous~  That is a very interesting website, one I will add to "my favorites" so I don't forget about it. It does advise against using the baking soda as a cancer preventative because the fungus may become immune to it.  I'll have to do some more looking into candida prevention.  It's kind of weird, but I have a strange rash on the outside of my body in the same place I have the spasms on the inside, like a fungal infection, but I've used fungal creams, tea tree oil, and even my steroidal eczema cream (doc's dumb idea) and it hasn't gone away. Now that I think about it, I've had it about the same amount of time as the spasms (a couple of years now).  I think I'll try making a baking soda paste to put on it a couple of time a day for a couple of weeks and see if it goes away.

I don't think this esophagus problem is one of a reaction to certain foods, but more like there's something in there that little dry bits of food get caught up on that causes a spasm.  I never have problems with mashed potatoes or cream of rice, so I don't think it's the foods themselves, but their forms.  I've even had problems with dry roast beef before.  Right now I'm just trying to be mindful of eating those dry, mealy foods with mouthsful of more moist things, like bites of chicken and veggies with the rice, or chili on baked potatoes, since that prevents it very well.

Sedulous~

Under the f.a.q. on the website is this:
"Would it be useful to prevent the fungus (candida) or to eliminate them by a special diet or by a preventive bicarbonate cure? Could one do this also orally?
One can do everything preventively, but I advise that bicarbonate should not be taken as a prevent therapy; otherwise the fungus itself may become resistant. "

I'll have to take some more time this evening to read over the whole site
