Squash is listed separately  so it has its own rating. Might be neutral so it does not show up on your list.

Buy extra in autumn and freeze it.

Speedy, this is the one diet where you can't "sub" foods.  As Andrea said each food has it's own rating.

whoops - didn't read Andrea's post properly it seems - so if Butternut Squash is not on my swami thats it then - although I have just noticed Squash is on my avoid list with a round dot so I'll get it back eventually?

Yes. If you're doing the 60 day washout by only eating beneficials and super beneficials for 60 days, then you can carefully add back the black dots to your diet. On my SWAMI there's no special serving suggestions for "black dot" foods. I'd go by the general serving suggestions if you want to eat them. You have to go by how you feel and your weight when you start adding back the black dot foods..Of course if we all just ate beneficial foods, we'd be doing the optimum thing for our bodies, but we as humans, need some variety to liven things up sometimes..

Canned pumpkin is great.  Tasty, ready to eat, and usable in all sorts of recipes.  Also acts as a bit of a binder in baking.  Use in place of bananas in banana bread and season with cinnamon and such.
