Raquel, that location will be accessible to those registered for the express swami, only, or those who have already purchased their past swamies. |

So my genes 'test result' SWAMI that I had done in January this year is kind of out of date? There is an improved version now? Or am I reading this wrong?
Cheers. |

Steve, you had a personally tweaked version from Dr. Tom, right? The express will not have the practitioner input, just the data. He may have made some specific tweaks just for you that the program is not accounting for.
Why don't you ask him? |

Glad to see this SWAMI board.
I am still a bit confused around the concept.
I am coming to the conference in June and was wondering, re what I have read about SWAMI:
Would I be entitled to e free testing? I have almost finished my first Genotype 3 pack and have just ordered the second one. I order from Nick Bowler in Scotland as I live in Europe.
Would I need to order the third 3 pack before coming to the conference to qualify for a free testing?
I also understand we will find out all about the different SWAMI tests at the conference.
What about practitioners in non English speaking countries? I am one. Is the SWAMI usable in another language? Is it possible to give the information orally to a client or would there have to be some major translating done?
Thanks.

Hi all - am a little confused about the trial group. I bought my first month but did I need to buy 3 months of all 3 supps all at once to qualify for the free version of express? Am unemployed and want to spend my time and money on the most bang for the buck, which includes making sure I have the right supps and the right foods for Hunter/O+ Thanks all and please let me know if I need to send this inquiry to someone else. |

You do not need to buy them all at once but it does save on shipping. I assume it need be done within the 3 month period, as well. You will probably never get a better bargain on the supplements and the value of the SWAMI is more than the cost of the supps. Even I, a known tightwad, jumped at the opportunity with only a minimal amount of grousing. So there! |

I'll be happy to feel welcome! Regretfully, in reality it is not so simple. In order for me to purchase the SWAMI express I was referred by NAP customer services to the UK distributor, whose website DOES NOT INCLUDE SWAMI EXPRESS at all!!! How come? A bug? I already emailed the customer services in Wilton that the desired item is not to be found at the UK site, yet they keep telling me to buy from the UK distributor... Put aside the bewilderment and frustration - I just wish to buy the SWAMI Express somehow. Hope my wish will be realized. I'll appreciate any help. Thanks, Yaeli |

Thanks Lola, It's not the costs - they just won't ship! Maybe in a few weeks time, when UK distributor has it, when the slow boat from Wilton gets there... That's what I was wondering about ... Dr. D works as fast as the wind (light?), yet when it's ready it's not there - I can't have it - NOT YET. Within a few weeks she says, which may mean 2-3 months until it is received, because they will take also time to process... So, i begged them a few mintues ago to go out of their way and send it to me from the States, because in a few weeks time my 3rd operation this year is due... That's it, see what they say. Thanks again for your help, Yaeli |

I got my SWAMI in good time, but waited till this AM to do it. BUT, I can't get in!!!! I even tried different versions of the user name as there is a I after a word. I tried capital i, small l, or the # 1. None worked. We have Internet Explorer which you say is fine. To download Firefox, does that mean it takes over the other uses of your computer or only for the SWAMI? I started downloading it, but aborted the mission. I am anxiously looking forward to doing this, especially since I got this weird infection, so would appreciate more fine-tuning...... |

Mrs T O+ We are having the same trouble, my husband received his SWAMI yesterday and in the User Name and Password they have an l . I tried and tried and finally got it to work, we input some info and saved it. Then when we wanted to get back in later I must have tried 15 combinations. Now I don't really know which one worked so today when we go in I will have to write down each time what I am doing. If I still have problems today, I will give NAP a call. Tea Rose |

I finally got in. The thing that looked like I is 1 on my computer. Our #1 has a little 'notch' on the top. I do have a Q about the Qs. I don't know how to describe lactose intolerant. I know that dairy causes congestion, ear infections, constipation, etc. [I have avoided it for years. ] Is that lactose intolerance or something else? As to finger lengths, I know the ratios, but can't find the tape to measure them. Since it isn't required, how critical is the exact measurement? Like most folks, they are 'alternate' but very close. Left has slightly longer index finger & right hand has the opposite. I am awaiting your reply. Thanks! |

Also what about that 'portions' portion? I put optimal, but how will that vary based on results? Since I have a big appetite, should I put 'larger portions' & will that have a different ratio b/c if I eat more, it is safer to have more of certain foods than others? |

Glad you got in! My computer remembered the password so the last thing I inputted popped up for him! I am not an expert on lactose intolerance, since for years I thought I was and then it turned out after being tested that I was actually casein intolerant. That is the protein in the milk rather than the sugar (lactose). Someone more knowledgeable may be able to answer this for you, but it seems like your symptoms are more like the ones I have. I also get really phelmy, having to clear my throat a lot. I would think that the finger measurements are important to input on SWAMI. I don't think it gives you an option to just enter ratios. You can actually change your portion setting and go in an run your report again and see the changes. You can always change it back. I would think that if you raise the portions it will do it across the board on all the categories, not just favoring one group of food. Although wouldn't it be great if it just upped carbs!! Hope this helps and hope my info is correct. Tea Rose |

TR: I was under the impression that if you pressed that last button, you were through! It sounds like you can keep going back to change or add input, but once you pressed the last button, it's curtains! Is that right. Dr. D?
I may just put in yes for lactose intolerant, but I think it is the protein that causes the problem, too. Thanks for the input! If I am wrong or if it affects the outcome, stop me!!! |

More! As to the personality test, I know I score high extrovert, but the other sections are mixed bags. Can I put the E in for info, but not the others. There should be a place at the bottom to write other things in. If they don't figure, they can be left out(not computed), but I wonder how much they do. Dr. D does so much work & we still have our Qs! Thanx, Dr. D!!!!!! |

Since you can go back and edit, does that mean that SWAMI is more of a "one person use" rather than a "one time use"? I thought once you were done, you were done, but then I saw other people saying they went back and tweaked things. How long do you have to edit things, like weight and waist measurements before they become permanently locked? |

That would be nice, but you are asking a computer program to read! My advice is take one of the online tests, or just leave it out. |

You can edit most 'changeable' things pretty much forever. Some 'unchangable' things (like gender... for most people, or blood type) are locked after 24 hours. |

What about the Q about taster status? It has choices of weak taster & super(I think) It doesn't have plain taster. I think I am slightly more than plain, so I'll put the super choice. Is that right? I haven't gone back to editing, as other things are going on this week, but I did notice that my info was gone. I bet I will test out approx. 40 gatherer, 30+ hunter, & <30 explorer. Why aren't the other options listed? I notice that some say they are a certain percentage of one GT, but not others. It would be nice to know. Why the exact measurements of the fingers, rather than which one is longer? |

The percents do not work quite in the way you seem to be using them. Here are some quotes from Dr. D.
Quoted Text
the percentage is not how much 'you' are 'it'.
The percentage is a measure of how much 'it' is 'you.'
Quoted Text
That percentage is part of the First Principal Component:
Quoted Text
Principal component analysis (PCA) involves a mathematical procedure that transforms a number of (possibly) correlated variables into a (smaller) number of uncorrelated variables called principal components. The first principal component accounts for as much of the variability in the data as possible, and each succeeding component accounts for as much of the remaining variability as possible.
Quoted Text
The percentage of your epigenetic variation is encapsulated in the GenoType profile seems low (35-45%).
PROBLEM
Although it might appear that this number is low, it is not a direct reflection of 'how much' you are of that GenoType, but rather a statistical first-pass description of how much of 'how and where' you vary from other individuals is contained in the Calculated GenoType.
For the more technically-minded:
In statistical terms this is called the First Principal Component. Other subsequent Principal Components also will pass through the data and often find additional correlations, but the First Principal Component will always have the highest percentage of variability encapsulation.

Thank you C sharp. According to the above, do all the percentages total in 100%? It sounds as if they don't have to, each type/sub-type with it's own extent of expression. If they must sum up in 100%, I am still at a loss. |

You do not have any percentages of other GenoTypes to sum.
If you did have them it would not make sense to add them together.
What you have is a measurement of how well you match your calculated GenoType.
SWAMI is going to make additional passes through your data and tailor a diet that accounts for the variances that you have.
When I give an exam students get a score indicating how well their answers match the key that I created.
If they get a score of 36% on my computer science exam, it does not imply that they will get a 64% on their history exam. They might but not necessarily.
The 36% score also does not imply that they are 36% of a computer science major. They are either a computer science major or they are not. |

I have just begun to work on my Swami and I have a few questions:
1. On Lactose intolerance; I cannot consume cow milk or yogurt without stomach pain, however I digest goat yogurt very well. Does that mean that I am not lactose intolerant, but only intolerant to cow dairy?
2. re: the question; "Are you in perimenopause/menopause?" I am past menopause and don't consider myself "in menopause". What does Swami mean by the question?
3. re: ethnicity; How can we choose from all grandparents? maternal grandmother: ancestors were from Netherlands maternal grandfather: ancestors from somewhere in the British Isles paternal grandmother: 1/2 Native American, 1/2 unknown paternal grandfather: 1/4 Native American, 3/4 Bavaria, Rhine River |

I have same questions, I've tested as "sensitive" to casein protein in milk, but would love to be able to eat cheese and yogurt and while they are on my list as good for me I'm nervous about eating them. I did not tick the lactose box as that is not the problem, any suggestions? Also ditto on the menopause question. |

Hi Lin. If you are in peri-menopause or menopause then I would suggest you check the box. Having completed menopause is being in menopause for this. |

Dr. D. said it runs within a web browser so the operating system does not make much difference. My testing indicates that it runs fine on Macs, Linux and Windows (including the just released, Windows 7).

It advises that you do, but do you really have to have high speed? I still only have dialup at this stage Most companies want you to sign up for 1 year minimum or they charge you so much more, but we still don't know if we will be here for the next 12 months... |

Welcome to the SWAMI Xpress User support board!
Where can we find more info about SWAMI? The info on the to buy page doesn't explain it much. |

The Express version you can rerun as often as you like and has most of the features of the professional version.
The advantage of the professional version is that your practitioner has more leeway in making changes specific to you, some extra options and of course the consultation with your practitioner. |

I am realy thinking of ordering the Swami Exoress. I realy liked the Sample printout and I want one like those, but now you say that with Swami Xpress I get a different one. Where are the differences?
Primarily the difference occur in the first 5 pages of the displayed GenoType printout. (First 6 page in my SWAMI Xpress printout--but this varies) Two other issues is since this is customized diet plan, printouts between two individuals using the same version of the software will not be the same. The posted printout is from a prerelease version of SWAMI GenoType and so the printout will also have differences from those generated using the current released form of SWAMI GenoType. Probably the biggest difference is that we have eliminated some spelling and grammar errors.

Which info is not included in the Swami Xpress printout?
The primary difference between the diet report Generated from SWAMI GenoType and SWAMI Xpress is information about what the practitioner has set. Since there are settings not available in SWAMI GenoType.

And in what way The Genotype Swamy is better than Swamy Express? Can you get different results using the one or the other?
Yes, you can get radically different results in the professional version. There are several hundred more settings that have to be made in the professional version. These additional settings allow a professional to further customize the diet plan for an individuals specific. Set these wrong and you can shoot yourself in the foot. Because of the hazard of users setting the additional values incorrectly only people with training and certification are allowed to use SWAMI GenoType. The biggest hazard in the GenoType version is that people will try to adjust too many things. So you end both raising and lowering the values of the same food. So the settings cancel each other out. The SWAMI Xpress product contains an artificial intelligence agent to choose the settings of the additional values on behalf of the user. Dr. D'Adamo has programmed this agent to make the same decisions as he would make on the basis the information provided. For most people having Dr. D. choose settings automatically (happens in SWAMI Xpress) is much better than having them guess what a setting means (happens in SWAMI GenoType). |

Thank you very much for the accurate info. That's just what I was looking for. I orderd SWAMI Xpress yesterday. Now I just have to wait and get it. All my questions were just because I wanted to get the maximum out of the diet. |

Did you order through the European distributor?
Yep I did. This site http://www.right4eu.com/EAT_RIGHT_4_YOUR_TYPE.html I ordered the Genotype kit and the Secretor non secretor kit prior and I got them very quickly by airmail. But the shipping cost is like 11 USD, not very cheap plus they don't have the same prices. The prices are alot higher than on this site. The price of the Swami Express is 109 USD + shipping so I practicaly pay double the price. But from this site I can not order becaise when I want to estimate the shipping cost it says no metod of shipping is available. It is kindof unfair that you have to pay double the price only because you don't live in the USA. Now I still have to figure out how to send the saliva sample after I fill the container. I ordered the Genotype book through Book Depository http://www.bookdepository.co.uk and I am still waitihg. I guess thats the price you pay for free delivery. |

not exactly double, no double would be around 160 us you payed in US or Euros?

It is kindof unfair
distributors go to through hell paying off taxes and registry and all that they have to import.... shipping to my country, which is relatively close to the US is over 35 or more dollars!!! so, no, I do not think it is unfair......you would be paying a higher price if sent to you directly. a great many sups I ve ordered in the past, have been confiscated at customs..... that to me is really unfair!!!! |

The price is in Brtish Pounds. I pay with my debit card and they'll charge it in EUR. So the price depends on the exchange rate on the day I am charged. |

I just paste the detailed order and insert the convertions. It's easier this way The package is sent from the UK to Slovenia (both are in the European Union). I assume that for other countries there might be different prices and shipping coats because of VAT and customs. Products ------------------------------------------------------ 1 x 4080 SWAMI Express (4080) = £66.10 = 73.4716 EUR = 109.177 USD ------------------------------------------------------ Shipping (Traceable): £6.00 = 6.67089 EUR = 9.91017 USD (this is the only shipping option given) Sub-Total: £66.10 = 73.4716 EUR = 109.177 USD 20% VAT: £11.02 = 12.2516 EUR = 18.2032 USD Total: £72.10 = 80.1587 EUR = 119.093 USD The price without VAT: £55.08 (ex. VAT) = 61.1917 EUR = 90.9732 USD Here you go |
