Had to pop back in to say hi hoping all are well and to report on my most recent blood chemistry findings. It will soon be two years since I began the BTD then adopted the GTD followed by my buddy the Swami I began my journey not realizing I needed to lose as much body fat as I did, and was on Nexium for acid reflux, Lipitor for high cholesterol, and paxil for anxiety which was mostly from trying to find my golf ball after I hit it I wanted most to get off all the junk (prescription meds) I was on and my understanding of the BT lifstyle was I could if in fact I aligned with Dr D's beliefs, studies, and philosophies. This resonated well with me from the moment I began researching the BTD. I immediately committed to making the changes required to change the course of the direction of my health. I began losing weight right away which was not my focus as previouly mentioned and within a few months I was off Nexium and Lipitor. I then discussed the issue of getting off the Paxil with my MD & ND who counciled me to do so on a gradual progression and I am excited to report this too became a history lesson Well before the first year I was off Nexium, Lipitor, Paxil, and had lost 20+ pounds of body fat Here I am alomost two years later with my total cholesterol @ 163, was 234; triglycerides @ 57, was almost 100; and glucose @ 83 down almost 50%. The glucose @ 83 seemed a little high according to MD standards but my ND says it is spot on I share this with all of you to encourage those that are not sure of this lifestyle, those that are struggling in some way and perhaps even questioning continuance of the lifestyle, and also those who are experiencing and have experienced the positive results and I encourage you to remain true to yourselves and share encouragement to those who need it right now as so many did for me I so very much miss being able to be on the forum as I was able to do when I began my journey however I do think of you all often with love and gratitude. Cheers from Golfzilla! |

Good to see you back, Golf.... Finally decided to take some lessons from a PGA Pro. Evidently I have a lot of relearning to do... . Glad to hear that you are doing so well with SWAMI etc. One of these days I really should go to CT and get a Professional SWAMI. Jane |

Thanks Jane! So glad to hear of you seeking direction on your swing...All the pros do, why should it be different for us, right? My wife just got fit for a set of Pings, I'm next I am using a new K-15 demo driver now - wow! Keeping it in the fairway allowed me to post my lowest score yet Yeah, I agree - one of my goals is to go see DR D too... Take care and keep 'em in the short grass |

Wonderful...so happy that you had the inquisitiveness & willingness to give this lifestyle a try. I decided to "give it a try" in 2007 and I have never even for one moment been sorry. |

Thank you for always being here! It is quite comforting to know where to come to obtain direction, advice, and support BTW ~ Are you able to recommend any protocols to help get my handicap down |

Golfz...has your better half come onboard? If my memory serves me correctly, in the beginning, she was a bit hesitant...am I right about that? |
