A warm welcome to you, Landie! I'm typing this with my thumbs on my iPhone, so I'll make it a shortie: I'm a potato chip girl myself and I was 238 lbs at my fattest, so I can relate to your French fry jones and your weight challenge. I've lost 81 lbs on the GTD and if I can do it, anyone can. It took me a long time to figure out what works for me and what doesn't, but when it all came together for me with the GTD, it really was (and is) a beautiful thing! Read labels and be sure to avoid wheat, corn and junky additives like the plague. Stock up on your beneficials/superfoods and take heart: anything you think you can't live without has an even better alternative (with the possible exception of mayo--but I digress, and even with mayo, you can make your own compliant mayo) and we are all here to help you figure out what those alternative foods are. You already figured out sweet potato fries instead of white, so good for you!
Welcome again. Later!

p.s. Just realized that the post I responded to is from January! I saw this thread in "Latest Threads", thought the whole thread was new, and read the original post and responded. See what being on from the iPhone without glasses results in? Well, better late than never.
Later, all. Me thinks I should don my glasses from now on if I'm gonna do the whole microscopic screen thing. Also: welcome, Nisey!
