Hi Everyone,

I'm Landie.  I bought the books last year, and started on January 1, 2011.

I am 5'3 and weighed 219 this morning.  I started at 223, so I guess I am seeing some results.  I made some mistakes early on. I was snacking on pretzels (thinking I was being healthy), until it dawned on me that they are wheat products!  So, I cut those out.  I also was having sausage and eggs for breakfast - until it dawned on me that my sausage was pork!  So I cut those out.   I was eating meatballs for some meals, until it dawned on me today that my frozen meatballs probably had some pork in them - so now I'll avoid them.

I'm a french fry junky, so cutting white potatoes worried me more than anything.  WELL - Alexia sweet potato fries have made me a believer that I can stick with this program. They come frozen, and are delicious baked in the oven sprinkled with sea salt!

Well, won't talk your ear off, but I'm excited to be part of this program and hope I see the great results that I have read about.

Thanks,
Landie.

Welcome Landie..
What are you eating for breakfast now as an O?

You have already learned two important lessons read the labels and get rid of what does not work.

good work and hello! those fries are awful things, i work at mcdonalds so i know all too well, and so addictive. coat some sweet potato wedges with olive oil, salt, garlic powder and rosemarry and bake them in your oven till the edges darken, you'll love it!

Thanks Andrea!   I'm glad I found this forum.  I was trying out a Facebook forum that was pretty dead and it was becoming discouraging. I'm so glad there are folks to compare notes with here!

I bought smoked turkey sausage (the rope kind), and I'll cook that with onions and a little oil in the skillet.

I discovered Cream of Rice somehow, so that satisfied my "grits" craving... being from Georgia.   I do use butter, but I am hoping that's okay since I'm trying to be careful with everything else.

Sometimes, I'll do scrambled eggs instead of the sausage.  I also bought some brown rice bread, and I'll make toast out of that sometimes when I'm not in the Cream of Rice mood.

I bought some tart cherry juice (wish it were sweeter!), so I'll have that sometimes, or some TAZO green-ginger tea (so yummy!!) with a Stevia packet and a little bit of creamer.  (I haven't gotten into non-dairy creamer yet, but I hope the quantities I'm using are not significant.)

I feel the sweet-cravings starting to stir, so I need to learn how to make something sweet quickly using wheat-flour alternatives. There's so much to learn.

That sounds great, Battle Dwarf.  I will give that a try - thank you!

The frozen fries are kinda pricy (since I HAVE to keep a supply), so it'll be great to be able to make them fresh out of sweet potatoes myself.

Which facebook? Facebook is not a forum, just a place to get you redirected here. Lola and I visit the Facebook sites regularly(lola more then me) so did we miss you some how?

Let me know don't want people to fall through the tracks.

Add stevia to your tart cherry juice or agave.

Check the recipe index for help. http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/recipes.htm

You will have to lose the non dairy creamer, just read the label and you will see why

I have agave syrup! I haven't tried almond butter yet, but I'll put that on my shopping list and give that a try for my sweet tooth.  Thanks Battle D!

I have sauteed bananas with a little butter and drizzled with a little bit of maple syrup.  It's good, and was doing the trick - but I need something more starchy than a banana so I have that cake or cookie texture, you know?!

What do you sweeten your dark chocolate with?  (Do you get powdered?)

Andrea - I joined the one that was "Eat Right for Type O."  And then I joined the main one "Eat Right for your Bloodtype," and I was wondering why I couldn't select "Like" or reply to posts. The Type O board was very dead.

...and I will add Stevia to the juice.  I don't know why I didn't think of that.  DUH!

Okay - I'll read the label on the creamer.  Guess I'll be kissing that goodbye soon...

Thanks Andrea.

i use good ole raw suger. tried alot of things and just couldn't beat it. i can't handle stivia, it makes me feel weird. agave just did not have the right sweetness to it...black strap might do it but i don't have any and it's a mess for just my morning cuppa. i have a cup of yerba matte' tea with carob, raw cocoa powder, half a spoon of raw suger and a dash of cream every morning in place of the coffee i used to drink.

I just threw out a big bottle of salad dressing today that my mother had bought assuring me that she wasn't doing well on it and when I read the label I found out why she kept getting headaches everytime she ate a salad. We have been on it now for over a year. It's a never ending process. The most important steps are the ones you continue to take every day. If you fall, get up and dust your self off and start again. There are so many great people here that will totally love to help answer any questions you have. Good for you!!!

O positive baby boy.

Welcome, Landie; nice to meet you - I wonder how far away from Ribbit you are - she is in Gerorgia

Keep that butter & invest in (or make) some ghee... Really useful & beneficial...A "dash" of heavy cream is mice with cocoa & hot water

Keep up the contact & the reading & all the best This works best with forum advice & support

Thanks Possum!  I'm going to have to do some googling to find out what ghee is.   The advice here is wonderful - and so fast.  I was feeling a bit frustrated yesterday, so I'm so glad I found this forum before I got off track!

I don't know Ribbit.  I'm in the Atlanta area... still snowed in from Monday's snowfall.  Since we don't usually have temps this low for an extended period of time, the DOT did not invest in enough snow plows, etc. to clear the interstates, let alone streets. Therefore, I am still trapped at home 4 days after a snow... waiting for the thaw.

Thanks Battle D - I definitely need to add chocolate to my diet before the craving is uncontrollable!  That's a good way to do it.
