Hi all. I am a newbie to this site and was introduced to the book by a friend who had super benefits by following the BTD. I am 55, heart attack in 2008, stent implanted, owner of a seafood restaurant and bar. I am on 7 medications for cholesterol, blood pressure, and GERD.
I went on the diet a month ago and lost 15 lbs. However, I have battled dandruff since high school. It's GONE! I have had nasal congestion since in my 20's. It's GONE! I had a persistent eye lid twitch. It's GONE!
I have my annual physical in January with the usual blood work done. I can't wait to see the results of my cholesterol level since I've eliminated meat, dairy, and cheese from my diets. Woo hooo!!!!!

Awesome... you might want to look at the cardiovascular protocols. I can tell you getting off all those medications will be good for you. They helped kill my grandpa as best as I can tell. He was doing ok till they started giving him different meds for what started as very minor problems.
The power behind some of those stuff like Hawthorne Berry, and selenium (in peanuts and different things for different GTD's) is a statement all on their own. Getting your cardiovascular system so it is not hardened, or calcified, will help a lot in lowering blood pressure. |

... while your health still being restored. My weight loss definitely took off with Swami. I am hoping to get healthy enought to discontinue the high blood pressure medications. Well done, and welcome to the board. |

Thanks all for the well wishes. Granted, being a restaurant and bar owner I was not excited to see my avoids. But nonetheless they are out of my diet.............well, except the beer. Some things are sacred. I would really like to get off some of the meds I'm on. I don't like taking all that stuff, but the doctors have their guidelines don't they? We'll see what happens next month at my physical. |

Keep the beer to an occasional treat, switch to red wine - much better for an A and good for the heart. |

Once you get your gut healthier the heartburn will probably go away. I had heartburn for a while when I was very stressed and "Manuka Honey" and mastic gum worked wonders. |

LISTEN .. what's in a name: Chiefjag .. I mean Chief.. Jag.. no small feat..
you got rid of avoids.. that is the first step.. maybe now you could go to being sober with non alcohol beer.. you can poor it into a bottle your own... so no one needs to know.. some things are sacred.. but you might do your self some good that way..
then again.. may I very gently say.. stents are not good.. you need them but they are a band aid.. they work, but... Can you see your self being that chief, and really care even more and try even more.. not just the beer, but reading the cardio book .. then following it for protocols and the like,, then see how you fair..
Meds are ok if you need them, but if you get well then the need will dramatically change in your favor.. but it takes time.. so good luck.. |
| When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfection Being 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships |

Wine gave me heartburn as well when I was eating avoids (especially white). Now that I am almost totally compliant I don't have that anymore. Try to be more compliant a bit longer and then give a try. |
