I just noticed this in the blog section "Interview with Dr. Mehmet Oz on The GenoType Diet" and listened to the podcast. It was a very interesting review of the science behind the type of diet I'm now trying to live by. When he says, "You will only get slightly less sick if somebody takes food away from you, but you will not get more healthy. You will get more healthy by eating stuff." the bells went off....*ding*ding*ding*ding*!!!!!! Ten years ago I figured out I probably had celiac disease and coerced a doctor into doing a biopsy to find out yes or no. Yes. So I cut gluten out of my life and while I improved greatly there was still something bad going on that I never could figure out. Sometimes I would be better, sometimes I'd feel worse but try as I would the answers to my health problems were shadowy and vague. I've been trying to eat like a hunter for almost two months now and I am healing. It's like I am walking the tightrope still but now I have a net.....I sometimes eat foods(never gluten) that I rarely got away with and I don't feel like I'm dying anymore. Like butter, which used to almost always make me sick....I guess the times I could eat butter with no problem were the rare periods of my life where I also ate meat. I don't eat a lot of butter now but being a hunter I like to poke things with a stick so I've tried it even though I thought I was allergic to it. Hey butter is actually supposed to be good for a hunter. That makes me smile. I'm glad the Drs. D. were smart enough to figure this out so I can get MORE healthy by eating STUFF. |

It's funny, I always put the emphasis on the first A. As in dee-AH-damo. So it's actually dee-ah-DAH-mo. Man I feel silly. My Ma would totally go her own way and call him Dr. Domino, and I'd laugh too hard. I about gagged when I heard Oprah's voice, but hey, if her sheep hear about the GTD, then maybe it will spread. If you are an Oprah fan, just ignore me. I used to be one too in the early days. |

Awesome interview Peter Forwarded the Podcast to 30 of my clients!! Hear, hear and spread the news! Again triggered by Peter mentioning the whorls for being prone to cancer, I checked again my fingerprints. No whorls present just arches and loops, and I am completely symmetrical in my fingerprints. I kept the link in my mailbox! Thanks for sharing! Cocky |

I was so excited to hear this. Hopefully the masses will now be enlightened due to Dr. Oz's popularity. He sounded very curious and respectful of Dr. D! Lets hope some sparks ignite! Adam...I totally agree about Oprah....only the early days. |

Dr Oz goes with the flow......his agenda is too compromised to follow Dr D, although I could bet Dr Oz follows GTD as a way of life since that interview....the advice he gives publicly is another matter due to what I mentioned previously. |

you all forget this interview dates back from 2008!!!! so it s over 2 and a half years old.....although it will never go out of style, that s a fact!
Lola, yes I noticed it too! But as you say, this news will never be 'old' news Micronutritional Holland is talking about genetics and epigenetics in their magazines. Perhaps Holland is getting 'ready' now for Peter?? Cocky |

I have an a great deal of respect for Dr. Oz and for Oprah. I would not want their work load or schedule (and honestly, they didn't make their millions playing basketball ). Dr. Oz is leading the battle to get HFCS and Hydrogenated oils out of the American diet. Would you expect anyone to just jump on the Dr. D bandwagon the moment they hear about the diet? Dr. D himself admitted that for awhile he thought his dad's idea was crazy! We are all individuals and we all see the world and everything in it from our own perspective. We all deserve the right to take in information and do with it what we think is best. |
