w/o the diet I do not move my bowels at all. I thought it perfectly normal to have 1 bowel movement every couple of weeks and that was only w/ tons of laxatives. Having 12 ft. of intestine is no joke but the GT diet saved my life!

"Dear Dr. D'Adamo, I have been planning and cooking for my family for type A and O blood types for almost three years now, and we have all benefited tremendously from this healthier type of eating individualized for each of us. It was quite difficult and time consuming to begin with, as I read and analyzed every product I considered for purchase. Now I automatically know which products are gluten free, for example, so my grocery shopping has become much easier. I own several of your books, and have spoken to countless friends and colleagues regarding the Blood Type Diet (as well as loaned them my books), and seen numerous people make lifestyle changes and have medical issues disappear.
Thank you, in advance, for your expertise and assistance in positively impacting the lives of more people than you will ever know!

Respectfully,"

for the past 7 years slowly became chronically ill due to muscle pain. Had to give up teaching fitness classes, gained 40 pounds due to inactivity from not being able to move much. My achy muscles did not allow me to sleep at night. Became depressed, etc. For 5 years doc told me that nothing was wrong with me. So, I quit doctors and started doing my own research. In May, I did a liver repair diet, which included going gluten free and then started my O diet and have been cured since! I do occasionally cheat and I noticed the difference on my body when I eat things that make my muscles hurt

I am 40 yrs old and just had my 5th child last year and in a few months I was back to my normal body weight with muscle tone and after about 9 months postpartum my abs were back! I feel great, energized and athletic. I have followed the Blood type O for about 10 years now. I love that it's not a fad diet. It's just changing your diet to foods that are best for your body! I've been an athlete for 32 years and competed at an elite level for several years. I don't eat as much or train as long or as hard as I used to when I was younger, but still get the same results. In University, I used to complain to coaches that it was too much work for me and had exercise induced asthma at one time. I had no idea about my blood type at that time either, it just didn't feel right. Now, I have more energy, less fatigue and my workouts are shorter, precise and more intense. More effective for me to work this way.Sometimes less is more! It totally feels right for my body! So thankful for Dr. D'Adamo and this lifestyle change. I teach my kids to eat this way too. The book is my nutritional bible! I need to order the new version

Had a follow-up from having blood drawn. Cholesterol normal. Blood pressure normal. NO meds. Glucose was normal. All those were a tad high last time. BUT, calcium and Iron was a tad low (by 2 points). I told him all the foods I have cut out. His reply, was.. you cut out all the bad stuff. He was happy with my results and happy with my weight loss.

Ive been eating right for Blood type O for about 6 weeks now....I also have started taking the supplements it recommends. I have been so sick for the last 8mnth+ with severe vertigo, headaches, bruising everywhere, sleepless nites, rigid nails, depression and the list keeps going on and on. I had the Dr trying to put me on antidepressants. I am a nurse and I knew myself that something was wrong and my body just wasn't balanced. I am happy to report that after about a week of doing all this I have never felt better. All my symptoms are gone and no more feeling sick...plus I'm down 12lbs I deal with alot of patients with health issues...I do not want to be one of those people...we only get one body

Even more than my excellent blood work and blood pressure... My thyroid has been enlarged last few years. I had an ultrasound yesterday and my thyroid has shrunk! I've lost right at 14 pounds too. I really needed the Swami, I had a few health issues to consider. So it deleted the right foods for me, and gave me the right ones. You could say it saved my life.. and saved me from taking meds.

Normally I ignore all the hype of books like this however I have been sick for years worsening over the last year to the point I can barely function. I got desperate and started reading this book. I was surprised to see all the foods I am allergic to on the list of avoids. (Except chocolate and it said minimal amounts). I am hoping by starting this diet I can have a normal life again. My drs apparently do not take me seriously but when you spend your life sick 90% of the time and no one seems to care you have to figure it out yourself. I am 29 and so thankful you wrote this book!

I treasure your book "EAT RIGHT 4 YOUR TYPE" and have pretty much ate for my type A, with seemingly great results since having your book. The other day, I was given a variety of fresh peppers, which I knew were avoids but I used them in our meal. I was not well with this choice and now even more believe your blood type truly instructs one how to eat and stay healthy. I am even more adamantly reading my book to learn more since this experience.

"Hello,

I've been doing BTD for 3 years now. I had a malformation during my pregnancy and BTD saved my baby! I have a friend whose baby is not growing properly. She is in the week number 22. Apparently, the baby is not being fed properly because for some reason the amount of food she is receiving is not enough to grow. I recommended her to follow BTD strict to the letter and only with beneficials to guarantee the quality of nutrients. Thanks a lot! "

Dear Dr. d'Adamo, Your book confirmed what I had to figure out by myself over the last 5 years. Furthermore,  you have identified foods that I only suspected until now, but since, I have been so much better, thanks to you. No doctor ever pointed out to me that my blood group might be at cause. It was something I heard 16 years ago, that Shania Twain said on television, eating according to her blood group, that got me thinking very recently and made me decide to look at your books and to see what no doctor would tell me. I was really ill last night as I dared to eat pork which I knew was in my avoid list but I think nothing really prepared me for the pain that followed. I wrote this poem today, for my friends to see and I thought to share it with you. It is THAT easy to be healthy, slim and full of energy. Perhaps mankind needs to first suffer to understand as I see how many people won't listen to me when I tell them to read your books, to identify their blood types and to adapt their lifestyles accordingly and to avoid my pain.

Another day.
Embers are glowing and pain reached a peak
During the night when I was in my sleep
It ripped and it teared and kept me awake
I did a quick turn at the pearly gate.

You may wonder, why my life is like this
Why food causes pain and acts like a curse
I was healed without knowing, and then it dawned
My life is now different, and may even be short

But knowledge I have, that you need to know
Respect your blood group, and stay healthy and grow
What you eat now, will determine one day
Your fate on earth, and how long you will stay.

I feel awesome...after 2 years I am now only taking 2 of my 5 original prescription meds [working on getting off the last 2]... my arthritis pain & wrist braces have been gone for 18 months... my cholesterol down from 260 to 140...I no longer have pain or burning with my neuropathy...all "allergy" problems eliminated [this was due to wheat & corn]

" The diet does give instantaneous results. I had been hospitalized w/ a bowel obstruction so severe I was at death's door. After many a Dr., Surgeon, and Radiologist looked at my scans and determined they had never seen anything like it, they decided that unless I had my lge. intestine removed and everything restructured I would never be able to move my bowels and the next time this happened I probably would not be so lucky to survive. Much to the horror of my family I signed myself out of the hospital and a week later called the D'Adamo Clinic in Connecticut for an appt. While there it was confirmed I did have an 80 yr. old colon and was told that my intestine's were paper thin and had I allowed them to do a colonoscopy (which I had refused) at the hospital I would have ended up w/ punctured intestines and also ended up w/ a colostomy bag. I started on my swami that very same day and immediately started moving my bowels on a daily basis, something I had never before been able to do in my entire life! The adjustments I made to my diet w/ my swami were not even huge, but the small changes that were made by adding and subtracting a few different things made a profound change in my intestinal health. A year after my obstruction my appendix came out due to being buried so deeply under my intestine and getting infected as a result. The surgeon was astonished when he saw my intestine and thought he was doing me a favor by trying to rearrange them after surgery instead of putting them back the way he found them. After going for visceral massages to keep the mobility going my bowels and intestines continue to function w/o any problem. I do take magnesium supplements as I had in the past but it is the diet that has saved my life. I have been 100% compliant from day 1 and will continue to do so. I am currently enrolled in school to become a holistic health coach so I can teach more people how to E4YT and save their lives."

I found your small personalized blood type books at my chiropractor's office.  I just found your large hardback book at my high school's media center.  I am on the Wellness Committee and we have a focus on health at Sandy Creek High School.  I am nearing retirement age and need all your information to keep teaching.  Thanks for all your hard work and information.  I am in year 34.  Thanks!!

I got my swami today and just finished. I had done the genotyping measurements with the book, but for swami I went ahead and ordered the genotyping kit. It made a huge difference. You can really see your fingerprints with the fingerprint kit. The finger measurements were different with their special ruler as was my jaw angle. I'm really glad I bought that kit and I highly recommend it for anyone doing genotype or swami. And best of all... just like you guys and gals told me swami gave me back a whole bunch of foods. I love my food list and it is totally doable for me. I'm excited to even try some new veggies and things I've never tried.

The hair loss often relates to thyroid conditions and also intestinal/ gut issues. After my intestinal obstruction my eyebrows and hair started falling out. I had previously shaved my head for my dad and sister in support of their cancer fight so didn't have much to begin with, but I was getting alopecia bald spots and it was from the intestinal trauma . As my intestines healed my hair started coming back.

Hi. I was introduced to your diet from my mother in law (NP in our local ER) when the doctors couldn't tell me as to why i was getting sick and didn't have an explanation as to why i had gastritis and esophigitis and my intestines inflamed as well. ALL my biopsies, ultrasounds, and blood work came back negative for anything. Only thing was my abdomen was still in bad pain and i was still throwing up after eating some things (from what i observed it was fried foods or breads). After my DR. sending me on my way taking and antacid, benefiber, and miralax everyday and it was making me feel worse and looking like i was 5 months pregnant, my MIL told me she started this diet as well and she has been doing better herself (she has IBS). She printed out the pages for type O non-secretor and told me to go into the food type database and write down what all i can have. I've been doing this diet for 2 weeks and i haven't had a single pain (unless i cheat and eat bread) nor any throwing up! i feel like i can think better and I'm able to sleep better as well! During the whole ordeal, within 2 weeks before i started the diet during all the testing, i went from 124.8 to 117.1 pounds (unintentional, i was trying to gain weight). so far i have only gained 2 lbs back but im ok with it since im no longer hurting!! Figured you might have wanted to know about another success from what you have researched!!

So excited! Decided to post here first before I tell others. I have lost 17 lbs. and 5" this year and have met my goal a month and a half early. 8 lbs. have come off since starting this diet in September. I am not 100% compliant (I love mushrooms too much), but I know what my avoids are if any of those pounds try to sneak back on. I promised myself that if I made my weight goal, I would start to tone. 30 day plank challenge, here I come!

Picked up a scale today. I normally weigh in the morning after my shower but I decided to weigh after I got the scale out of the box. I've eaten and am fully clothed. The scale says I dropped from 233# to 220#. So I've lost at least 13# possibly 15#. I love the ER4YBT lifestyle change.

The diet put my Lyme disease into remission (until the next pregnancy). I believe it was very instrumental in my overall healing. I used to have systemic Candida, but all that is gone. And I used to have white clumps on my tonsils even when I wasn't sick, and I never get those anymore, even if I get a sore throat, which is rare. I used to get two colds every year that would turn into sinus infections. I haven't had a cold in three years now.
