I, too, have MS and have been blessed that mine had been intermittent for most of the 20+ years. These last few years, as I crossed into 50, I was active far more often than not which led me to find the Genotype diet. After a month on it I can also say that I am stronger, better balanced and my sight is clearer. I sleep better, wake up with energy and don't become exhausted by midday as before. My headaches are gone and I feel amazingly better. I have not used any magnesium supplement - only the three suggested for the Warrior Diet and they have made a great difference.
I never actually thought I could go back to feeling like I did before becoming so sick..it had been awhile. Many thanks to Dr. D'Adamo and his staff for doing this. What a great way to make a difference in this world.

I have been eating for my blood type for the last 2 months. Prior to discovering this diet, I regularlly excerised and watched what I ate, but still had difficulty maintainng my weight. Anyhow, when I woke up this morning and weighed 162 lbs. (8 lbs. less than when I was discharged from the US Army 18 years ago), I knew that following blood type diet was the reason. I was so
happy, that I wrote a poem (I've never written a poem before today). It is goofy and I apologize for the language, but I just wanted to thank you. By the way, I am an "A".

‘Twas the year after ought 11
Leigh & Bryan were full of leaven.

A special diet they did need
to make them thin as a reed.

The Blood Type Diet they did find
one that neither did mind.

Less wheat and dairy
made their bellies merry.

And in no time they both could pitch
look at me, I’m a skinny b__ch!

I've been following the ER4YT since January. I haven't followed it exactly, but have cut out what I consider the big no nos: wheat, corn, pork, potatoes, vinegar, and dairy. So far with minimal exercise, life seems to get in the way of regular exercise this year, I've lost 25 pounds in 10 months and minimized the chronic headaches I had last year. I'm grateful to be able to make changes that allow me to feel better and improve my health.

I Love me some Dr. D'Adamo!! After being vegetarian for nearly 20 yrs. when I met Dr. D' & he told me I needed to eat red meat 3/4 times per week, I freaked out. We went back & forth w/pros & cons for about 12 mins. But he was very convincing. I no longer suffer w/ chronic fatigue, strep throat, my thyroid levels are normal & so is my weight. I still struggle with eating enough red meat, but I've eliminated oranges, dairy & wheat gluten, my most damaging poisons.

I have been off the forums for a long time.  I just wanted to say that swami has totally changed my life.

I couldn't eat hardly anything when I started swami almost 18 months ago.  Even the beneficial foods hurt to eat.  Now I am treating Lyme disease and getting better, thank God!!

Now I can eat vegetables without a stomach ache.  I have been able to eat rice which used to kill me to eat.  I still have to watch that the portions stay small, but it is a miracle that I can eat a lot more foods now.

My immune system is coming back.  I actually got a bad cold last month. If I eat an avoid, I do not react anymore.  I am staying close to the plan and not deviating very often.

I am now living in Colorado instead of tick infested VA.  Love it out here.

Thank you Dr. D'Adamo for all your work for us.  Your research has permanently changed my life and I am so grateful for your books and especially swami.

"I have been following the blood type eating right lifestyle for 13 years and the GenoType for the past 5 years. It is amazing how our bodies begin to teach us what is right for it and especially, what is wrong for us. I highly recommend trying it for 1 month. I believe you will see a difference and will begin the healing process."

I'm O...I had gotten away from eating red meat because they said red meat was not good for people...3 years ago I cut way back on eating red meat & I was always tired...since January 2012 I have been eating red meat most days for breakfast & lunch...I now have energy to do things...I now longer get so tired in the afternoon that all I want to do is sleep...but each O is different...what works for one does not work for another...you can try slowly eliminating meat from your diet, but I do not know any O who has good results with a no meat diet...peace of mind is very important

off of sugar now...and pain in my arthritic back disappeared. Not surprising bc I found out that sugar and simple carbs cause inflammation. So, no dairy, wheat, gluten, corn, peanuts, tomato, sugar, soy, potato, breads or processed foods, even if they are gluten free.. Still finding plenty of yummy things to eat, and my GI feels a WHOLE lot better : ) Somehow not eating chocolate either. But red wine? yup. Got wine. Got probiotics. Got onions, green leafies, and meat, so I'm good.

In 1998 I found out that I was wheat & yeast sensitive. I had severe case of chronic fatigue - functioning abt 4 hours a day only.
Then I watched a late night pbs program, went to see dr J in brentwood and adhered to her very strict system and Chinese herbs til better. However, after that - I had NO QUALITY of life on that system. Couldnt go out for a coffee tea or cocktail or eat at restaurants etc. It wasnt until I discovered Eat right for your blood type book that Ive been happy healthiest and most balanced! I believe Ive been following this system for abt ten years or so and have shared with most friends seeking advice. (I dont proselytize). Anyway, something popped up saying there's not enough evidence of this? BS Im living proof this works to the endth degree! Thank you Dr D'Adamo for all your hard work! Please continue!

A good friend loaned me the book, EAT RIGHT FOR YOUR BLOOD TYPE, upon hearing that I had just broke my ankle and had time to read.
6 weeks into the type O diet, I realize that this may be one of the most important events in my life.  I was just over 250lbs before the accident and I am now 215lbs and have not lost muscle tone and strength but have gained it.  my blood pressure was about 155/95 (with medication)and is now 147/77 with half the medication. I have not been able to do much cardiovascular training a only very limited strength training due to my condition.  When I am back on my feet, I may have a more shocking story to tell.  I enjoy the diet and am fully content with no cravings of the so-called 'healthy foods' I once lived on.  Truly a miracle, this is not a gimmick.

I've been following Dr. D'Adamo's diets (first the Blood Type Diet and now the GenoType Diet) for many years. I was obese and not only have I lost 96 lbs and have kept it off for several years now, I am so profoundly more healthy, I couldn't even begin to describe it in one comment. But yes, lectins and how they interact with one's blood type, are a huge and classic part of Dr. D'Adamo's blood type diet recommendations. The GenoType Diet is his latest work and takes into account other "hard-wired" characteristics about you, as an individual, too, in addition to your blood type. Basically, the diets are nutrigenomic, in that they are about how specific foods interact with your specific genetic hard-wiring. Dr. D's diets teach you which foods to choose that will minimize your genetic weaknesses and maximize your genetic strengths. I highly, HIGHLY recommend both the Blood Type Diet (this is the one to start with, for beginners, in my opinion--it is simple and the foundation of everything) and the GenoType Diet.

I am now concentrating on the Geno-Harmonic combinations -on page 30-31 of my report - and my brain/system notices the difference practically daily, plus the items are so easy to get, like pecans, colby cheese, green tea or carob, BS molasses, sardines...Sticking otherwise to the SWAMI superfoods or even Neutrals.  e.g. dinner tonight was ground beef (N, had run out of ground turkey, but have an O+ Hunter husband) with onions & celery & green peas in a no-tomato pasta sauce (carrots, beets, sea salt & spices) with brown rice pasta spirals with shredded cheese on top.  And I had a Unibar for dessert as the banana bread had finished..It's 1 Day At A Time here but I am very hopeful of a complete recovery.
Have told my sister, insulin diabetic, about the BTD, GTD and SWAMI, and going gluten free, listed the Gatherer Superfoods, which she likes, she's trying them and says she feels HOPE now.  And, by the way, both hubby & me lost 35lbs each and are maintaining.  Think this is more than I've eaten in my entire life!
A very Happy New Year to you!

" I just read the Wikipedia article on secretor status. I found out when I read you first book that Blood Type O should avoid wheat, corn and potatoes due to the lectins affecting the pancreas' production of insulin.

When your GenoType diet book came out, I looked at the characteristics of a Hunter and knew right then, with the adrenaline, weight gain of aforementioned foods, long lower legs, longer legs than torso and ballistic immune system, that that was me and have tried to follow the diet. Due to the fact that I don't remember what food is super, medium or avoid, I do stray. But once I refresh my memory, I avoid that food from then on.

What irked me is people like me are being positively affected by your books, but the medical community (Hippocratic oath notwithstanding) won't back you up. They wouldn't get behind Dr. Batman when he proposed our medical problem is due to dehydration, either.

I think it is time we happy Hunters, Gatherers, Teachers, Explorers, Warriors and Nomads take to the media we can and get the word out. The medical community is largely on the bandwagon of the NIH and their mantra "it takes a pill to cure it". "

This doctor saved my life! I am so glad I found out my blood type 7 years ago. I am type B, and I stopped eating chicken and corn, which is toxic for my blood type. It made a dramatic difference in my health in just two months. I had been on Prednisone for 20 years every day for allergies. But 2 months after avoiding chicken and corn I was like a different person. I NO LONGER needed Prednisone for inflammation. My allergist could not explain it. You can get a test in the mail to see what your blood type is. I got one for my husband from Amazon.com, and found out he is blood type A. The test cost about 5 dollars... go to amazon.com and then search "Eat Right 4 Your Type Home Blood Typing Kit with Eldoncard"

I am studying physio and there is loads of extremely relevant research which is not taught in the degree course and used by professionals in hospitals. That info and following this diet has cured my scoliosis, whereas conventional hospital treatment made me worse, by inserting metal rods in my back and covering up the painful inflamed areas I so needed to address.
a common problem I see includes research only focusing on each health professionals own specialty and often only one treatment on it's own. Dieticians do not seem to have very high status in the NHS and the degree is incredibly hard with so much complex biology

Hi Doctor, You saved my life 7 years ago when I stopped eating chicken and corn. I am sure I would not be here today if it were not for what I learned. I had been on steroids for 20 years and my blood could no longer tolerate it. THANKS! TO YOU AND YOUR FATHER! I AM NOW HEALTHY!

I was at my last resort when I found the diet. 50 pounds overweight, sleeping all the time, and the depression was getting worse. I will never go back to my old eating pattern. After I started, I found out that I am gluten intolerant that I didn't have before the tubal. It was proof that the diet was the right thing to do and as the weight started to come off, every doctor said oh the meds must be working. When I told them I stopped my depression pills and said its all diet, they were shocked. It's amazing what an effect surgery can have on your body and how food can heal. My thyroid I still take medication but a low dose, hormones are still working themselves out and 20 more to lose. I am a completely different person than I was a year ago.

OMG - I can not rave enough over the meal planner/ recipes/ type beneficial listings/ easy to see compatibility of foods for different blood/geno types/ shopping list a whole weeks worth (or more) instantly! Having 2 different types this is incredibly helpful, if SWAMI determining your genotype is the "cake" this is the icing and cherry on top! Thank you to those who thought, really thought about the information and user friendliness of this software - save up and get your SWAMI!oh it even generates a cookbook for you to use with each meal you choose to add throughout the week there is a section in it that gives you a 7 day, 3 meal with snacks option with a ton of recipes to choose from, and generates your weekly choices, these recipes also list beneficials/neutrals/avoids per type. Having an O and an A in my household, it really helps me easily see meal options that are compatible for both of us and generates the shopping list for you with what you have chosen

I struggle with weight and a very addictive brain.  Every so often 'I' go off diet, a little  or a lot, but no matter - KNOWING about BTD, Geno and Swami allows me to come back and be compliant.

I understand ME - which is most important.  I lost the most pounds when I first went on the  beneficial food regimen for my O Blood type - when the books where brand new: ER4YT and LR4YT.

The books where a revelation beyond words. They explained why I was who and how I am and allowed for meaningful changes.  The diet gave me what I needed, no guilt- anymore.

With this BTD KNOWLEDGE, I can always start again, go on the wagon and Eat Right and revel in the pleasure of doing so.

The BTD concept leaves all the diet disasters in the distant past.  Even with 'cheating' I still eat 95% healthier than if I followed any other diet advisory.

Years/decades later I am still discovering ever more who and even what  I am and why.  I see more similarities with my paternal side of the family, and I understand where that side came from.  I understand why I am loving the sea air and can breath better.  Why on the ocean I can pull in the muscles right under my breast bone, and walk freely, both of  which is so difficult in the mountains, where the air is thin and I get out of breath.

Even having lived at 8000 feet I still never feel good there. So much so, that even as a child, I chose to go to school in the (lower) city, and leave home. Reading about my blood line makes sense out of so much I just 'knew' then, yet never knew the WHY.

Thanks Dr D'Adamo.

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

as soon as I removed "all the grains" containing gluten, the diagnosis for Fibromyalgia and under-active thyroid went away and the MD "refused" to write a prescription for my thyroid med's. She said I was over dosing on the smallest script she could write!

Honestly, I became pretty worried about not having the thyroid med's because I was terrified of symptoms returning but I feel better now than I have in many many years.

Just wanted to thank Dr D'adamo for turning my life around in only 5 months, i lost 35 pounds and have more energy. i had severe arthritic pain, that now has lessened by at least 60 percent. Thanks again for making total sense with the whole "eat right for your type" idea.
