I finally gave up black tea and sauces that have wheat in them. I've been hyper-vigilant and have been feeling great!! It was the tea, stevia (which is sadly an avoid for me), dates (which I had no idea were avoids for me till I learned I'm a nonnie), and incidental wheat that I was unaware of that contributed to my feeling blah so often. I bought some Yerba Mate tea at the suggestion of some other Os here and now I really like it. Green tea is growing on me if I squeeze some lemon juice into it. I'm even using agave and it's not messing with my blood sugar AND I am not bloating from it like I thought I would. I always bloat when I have honey or other sugar but the agave is totally fine. Dr. D is a genius. I am sleeping through the night, very deeply, too. I love this way of life. It's great!!

I read the "Eat Right" book in January, 2011 during a time that I was not feeling well physically.  I was dealing with more health issues and was extremely overweight.  I made the decision to try this eating plan for one month beginning February 1st.  I had tried everything else.  If it didn't work after one month, my plan was to go back to my old eating habits.  At the end of January, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.  I discussed this eating with my physician and its suitability for my new diabetes diagnosis.  He did not have any concerns and gave me the o.k. to proceed as I was planning along with his prescriptions for diabetic medications.  At this point, I have lost between 70 and 80 pounds and have been able, with the direction of my physician, to stop all of my diabetic medication.  I continue to monitor my blood sugar levels daily and am very pleased with my continued success in managing my diabetes with my new and improved eating plan.  People see the changes in me physically because of my obvious wet loss and increased energy levels.  I have told many people about the "Eat Right" book.  I know of a couple of people who are following the plan today. The book I used is in our local library.  I refer individuals to the library to check it out for themselves.  I just wanted to share my story with you.  I am not at my goal weight but I am very excited about the progress I am making with my health.  By the way, I do not call this a diet.  I think of diets as something short-term.  I call this my new eating plan and new way of life because it is a change of lifestyle for me.  Please express my appreciation to Dr. D'Adamo for sharing his knowledge with all of us who are benefiting from his research.

I just find it absolutely amazing and miraculous how many people Dr. D's work is healing.  I have written of my gratitude before so I'm just saying - I'm about 7 years into this (having graduated to the ultimate SWAMI!) and after trying everything under the sun, even holistically, this is the ONLY diet that I will follow for the rest of my life.  When I fall off the wagon I know how to get back on.  When I'm not feeling right I know why.  I can more easily and readily find answers to my health questions than I ever could before...This is an ever learning and growing process ~ I haven't even pinched a small portion of his in depth research and the other information there is on his site.  I don't have time! At 50 years old I'm more active and busy than I've ever been - because of this way of eating and living. His work has altered the medical "industry" in ways the world does not even, yet, realize - I think they're just starting to catch on.  Anyhow - I'm grateful today - and always will be as I'm reading about others who have found new life through Dr. D's tireless work.  He and his family and staff deserve every blessing they receive for what they have done and continue to do for humanity.

Datapunk - did you coin that? Love it whatever it means. & you're a graphic artist too - literally twice over = haha! Dr. Peter - you are one of my heroes. In a lifetime one does acquire heroes (or mentors or sage writers or people that inspire) & I've a few. Your blood type research has allowed me to live a better life. What more can you expect from a hero ♥

I have to thank you for giving me my life back...or I should say my marriage.

I have seminal allergy to my husband and have had problems since the birth of my second and final child.  We didn't know what the rash etc was, so the OB/GYN would just tell me to douche after each sexual encounter, produced massive hives, rash, breathing problems (I thought it was asthma related to climate and treated it with inhaler/antihistamines).  At the hospital ER they said I was allergic to Kleenex (hello?).  Problems continued to get worse until I was not able to sleep at night due to my "asthma" and had to sit up till several tablets of antihistamines could fix my symptoms. I was bone tired and sooo ill.  I looked up "allergic to husband" and found my life on the internet.  I had it confirmed at the hospital 'severely allergic to my husband', found me in the ER with anaphylactic shock! Epi pens became my bedside companion.Condoms were out as well - I have a latex allergy.

So my marriage was reduced to a gamble with my life every time we had sex.Condoms were out as well - I have a latex allergy.

So my marriage was reduced to a gamble with my life every time we had sex. That's went I went to the mat and looked for anything in your book that could help me.  I had been a fan of your book for years, but now I was on a mission!!!

Nothing in the regular O diet book helped me, but when I looked at a tiny O diet book I found my first clue.  In this tiny book you said to use Thyme or Fenugreek for sinus problem...  Let’s see, sinus problems are allergy related...my health problem is allergy related...what if I dose myself with Fenugreek (Arabs use it a lot)?  I started making a tea out of the ground Helba (Arabic) and noticed my reaction to the condoms wasn't as bad as it used to be.  Little by little I built up the Helba in my system until I did my own allergy test (with epi pen at the ready). It has been 12 months symptom-free and a happy marriage!

Of course, you know I got stupid...I didn't take the Helba one night and it wasn't a real problem, slight rash, but nothing major, so I wanted to see how far I could go without Helba.  After all, maybe I was cured?  Yeah, I was STUPID - had to use the Epi pen the third night!  Won’t be that dumb again!

Thank you for my life and marriage.  You’re the best and may God give you what is best for you and keep what isn't far from you.

Thank you very much!

P.S. We are a family of four "o's" one "B" and an "A" What a chore to cook! But I am so trying because I think this is the best way to choose what foods to serve every family member. Thank you and your Dad so much for bringing this out for all of us.

This is just a note to say I HAVE FINALLY discovered for sure what my Genotype is and I feel wonderful. I have been working off of the O pos Nonnie Hunter diet and it is without a doubt me to a tee! Thank you thank you thank you Dr D'Adamo!!! You have changed my life! This diet (lifestyle) took me a while to tweak out and research but it was all worth it in the end! I am healthier and more confident. Also with the Genotype I was able to add a few foods back into my diet and that has been wonderful! So all n all I am very very pleased with my over all well being!

After months of struggling with acne and breakouts after going off the pill (just felt crappy while on it) and not to mention WITHIN MONTHS off my wedding, I finally went to visit a Naturopath after trying every imaginable remedy myself to get rid of the breakouts (which I NEVER had while on the pill). Naturopath told me about the blood type diet and I immediately started a food journal and was very strict about following the type A foods. My acne stopped within DAYS! I was so thrilled! The other benefits were just awesome, too. I dropped about 20 lbs (I didn't need to lose any weight, but it was a nice plus) and I had to get my wedding dress taken in! I wasn't sleeping through the night, but now I sleep awesome and have LOADS of energy throughout the day! I tell everyone I know about this diet

"Hi I want to thank Dr. Adamo for giving me my life back.
I have had psoriasis for four miserable years. I started on the recommendation for the type O diet. Within days of giving up Wheat and Dairy, my skin started to clear. This was right before Thanksgiving. Now, my arms are clear and my legs, almost. The last places to heal are my stomach and back side. I have avoided many social events during these last four years. No More. Thanks to Dr. Adamo. My girlfriend has just purchased the book because she too has psoriasis. We live in s. Florida and it's miserable in the summer covering up. I look forward to next summer for the first time. THANKS "

It doesn't take as long as you might think. I was sick for years and years and within the course of this spring and summer am completely healed so long as I obey some rules and stick to my diet. Lately I have been adding things back in that I couldn't eat before at all and am just using the guide to know which ones to try to add back in (carrots, celery, fruit) and which ones not to bother. I am stronger and stay healthier than I have in over 20 years before. and the good news my LDL is only 197! I thought it would be much worse, it must be the gym keeping it lower.

I'm surprised at the items I found to avoid under the Blood 0 Type Diet because it matches 90% of the items I must also avoid after having done a rather expensive food allergy test.

It's quite a revelation, and I've never seen any other diet that matches what I must and mustn't eat as the items are quite varied and not only leaning towards dairy and wheat which are common culprits.

Just thought to post gratitude for all that I have learned from Dr. D and this board (and elsewhere really) that I have some level of discernment because of the things I've learned and don't blindly accept what is being taught. I found myself wanting to correct a certain Dr. on tv today. He likes to use models to explain things to his audience, but some of his premises and conclusions are flawed. In particular, I realized I have a pretty decent understanding of digestion and a grasp on the individuality connection. Suppressing stomach acid artifically is a bad solution I would think in just about all cases. Head shake.

Thanks.

Got linked to your conversation by a friend. I've been suffering for severe dyshydrotic eczema on my hands for over 3 years. I was the same, some days I couldn't even close my hands. Tried every cream there is. A few months ago I got introduced to the BTD, and it really made sense to me. I'm A, so I cold turkey cut all red meat, dairy and cut down on my wheat. Within a week my hands had completely cleared up! Just cutting the meat and dairy from my diet made that much of a change and I'm never going back to my old ways.

I have had no platelets for 21/2 years, receiving gamma globulin pretty well weekly. I have had my spleen out, been on prednisone, cellcept, and a few other meds, plus retuximab for my arthritis. They now want me to try a product called End Plate will I do not want to go on. I have been now trying to just go and get my blood tested every two weeks now to see how I am. My count is 2. I haven`t been getting any bruises latley or have much blood in my nose. I have your little book on Type ~O~ blood which I am.  Thank You

I went off the pill & started breaking out horribly (in my 20's) and it was getting close to my wedding. I tried everything imaginable & finally broke down & visited a naturopath. I absolutely recommend it!!! I saw results with my breakouts in like 3 days, lost a little weight with no working out, and my energy sky-rocketed. I used to always be tired and sick before. Even though my wedding was in August, I still abide to the guidelines of this diet. I have the app on my phone and if I eat something I shouldn't, I feel gross. I always had stomach aches before & now I can't remember the last time I felt "sick"

Dear Dr. D'Adamo:

I wanted to tell you that following your program I reduced my cholesterol 42 points in under 3 months. My doctor had told me this was impossible, since i was genetically stuck with an ever-rising cholesterol number, but eating right for  my blood type actually restored my 2004 body (weight and cholesterol) - I actually turned back the clock on myself!

I am a 56-year-old 1-legged actress, singer, songwriter, musician, teacher, director & mother who lost her leg to cancer 30 years ago. Having always kept fit and healthy, peri-menopause posed challenges to me that I was told could not be helped or reversed. But in fact, your program proved those who told me that WRONG!

Many thanks for your incredibly valuable gift of life,

Good job on the weight loss! I went through the change at 38 (45 now), quit smoking, changed careers, ended a serious relationship and gained 130lbs!! Nothing has worked for me but the eating for my bloodtype. Of course, now I have had knee problems with all that fat I'm packing. I'm started religiously following the diet on 11/1/11 and have since lost 19lbs!! My energy (and moral) is way up and my knee feels better! Imagine that! Good luck and keep it up it's so worth it...Happy Holidays from a fellow B

I am very interested in learning about my blood type AB positive. I have been following your book Eat Right for you Type for the past 3 years. It has helped me a great deal but would like to know more.
thank you Dr. D'Adamo you are a GEM!

I read your book and followed the diet for my blood type and was intrigued that it worked.  I have been on many diets and this is not really a diet i just changed a few things that i was eating because i thought i was being healthy. I did not finish the book before i started the change so when i finished the book i found that my ethnicity is odd for my blood type.  I am 1/2 native American Indian and 1/2 Filipino my blood type is ab positive and my brother is ab negative. Just thought that might be interesting to you. I have 3 other siblings to share the book with. Anyway, loved the book and appreciate you sharing.
